Arrival Story:
My Dad raced and bred Greyhounds ,Flynn came to us when Dad was owed money for a stud fee we were tole he'd be a good racer so my dad took him in and trained him, and sure enough he was a great racer. When I was 6 my dad gave me Flynn to care for when He was still racing . I was so proud of him. He was an amazing dog who never backed down. And always tried his hardest . Of the track he was very gentle, and all the local kids would come over wanting to play with him. And of course he loved all the attention. He was a very special boy. Who I still miss everyday. He lived to he was 12yrs 4 mths and 10days old. Which is quite old for a racing Greyhound. He was always my favourite of the lot of them. In my heart forever the most special boy in the world.
Bio:
Flynn Lightning was race bred his father D'Arco Lightning was twice European Champion and His Mother Stella Bella was three time British National's Finalist and one time Champion . He was named after my dad's Uncle Flynn who loved Greyhounds. Flynn as he was known at home raced 38 times for 25 wins ,7 Seconds , 4 Thirds and 2 Fifths. After he was retired aged 4yrs old. He was used as a Stud Dog, he was a popular sire and Himself British National Champion he had Ladies coming from all over the UK to visit him . He sired over 200 Live Pups in his 6yrs at stud including 14 European Champions and 6 British Champions and had 8 Pups Exported to Australia and New Zealand. He retired from stud after his 10th year alive. He only reitred after becoming infertile. And He was fairly healthy up until the last 6mths of life when he had kidney problems . Flynn passed away in my arms on the 7th July, 1992 . Gone from my life but not from my heart. I still miss him everyday.
