Arrival Story: (Ulla will let her mum explain this--she knows the details of how she came to find me.) Thanks, Ul. Actually it started with this lifelong wish I had, that I thought about all the time. I wanted to share life with one of my favorite creatures in the world. I've always loved dogs, especially sighthounds--and especially the Saluki breed. In my mind you guys are the most perfectly beautiful things there are. Everything you do looks elegant. For so long I wanted the first one of my own--it's still hard to believe you're finally here. How did it happen? To make a long story short enough, I met some great people online; visited a regional Saluki club meeting at a dog show; found your wonderful breeders, and as I spoke to them I picked you up and held you. A gorgeous, petite mahogany redhead with black accents & her head on my shoulder; little did I know at that moment that you were destined to be mine. On top of that miracle it happens that you're a future show dog--and I had also always wanted a show dog. It seemed too good to be true! When next I saw you, I recalled our first time and realized that I had to pick you--I fell in love with little Lucy, my redheaded doggie twin, all over again. On September 30 I brought you home, introduced you to the family and called you Ulla (which I knew before I'd ever seen you would be perfectly unique and euphonious for such an animal as yourself--but to honor the fact that we're both crazy redheads, I left Lucy forever as part of your name). And that was it-we started life together; finally having a Saluki for a friend feels so right. In fact it kinda feels like I've always had you. I love you Ulla, and hope one day we can look back at your homecoming day and really say, '..the rest is history!'
Bio: Ulla's story begins May 22, 2006. (I'm on the Gemini-Taurus cusp, and my dog-mom and pop are CH Copper Crest Autumn Sage, or Sage, and CH Copper Crest Altaira, or Tara.) You may call me by the name Mom gave me--Miss Tallulah ("Barkhead") Inga Ilsa Tara Lucille...all right, just call me Ulla! Like many of my canine family members I take part in conformation shows, and I also happen to be Mom's dream come true...so we'll just see what kinds of adventures are ahead for us. Thanks to my official *registered* name, my personal theme song is "The Lady in Red." *dances to it* (..."ohh, the lady in red, the fellas are crazy for the lady in red..da da da..") My old photo/video album here: http://tinyurl.com/23q3th (password ulladog)! All future photos, videos, news, etc., are now on Mum's Facebook (PM me to see.)
The 22nd is my birthday, and the 4th was the day I became a Champion! Mom and I made it through six separate dog shows over the past week and a half...oy! No more for a while! ;P It is always fun to see Bob, my kin, and other Saluki friends, though. And we could've moved right into the apartment above the garage at my old home, heheheh!! >;) So, I brought us home a bunch more ribbons and prizes for our album, and my work on that front is now done, at least for some time. Yesterday we went to the Trenton Kennel Club show by ourselves...didn't know most of the other dogs or people there, which was unusual, but I came away with Best of Opposite. Now, we kick back and unwind, while Mom ponders some extra-special treats and activities with which to celebrate my birthday...the usual toys, perhaps another recipe? Frozen treats? Lure coursing, even? :] Hey, all this victory calls for something truly wicked awesome!

Because there are soooo many, and they just get better and better, and this is how we've been recording everything (including Jack, my new little Beagle brother) for the past few years--photography and videography!
Our dear old Molly and Casey are also in some of this. (Their times overlapped the days of film cameras AND digital ones, so most of their photos are physical, developed copies in physical photo albums.)

Mom's YouTube account name is Mktillg; plenty of her videos are inclusive of me. Just friend her on there or FB for easy access to the rest of the albums/photos and videos that feature moi... ;)
For instance, I'm in some of these: http://michellekti.blogspot.com/2011/12/links-to-my-unlisted -youtube-videos-out.html
This was her "Tail of Devotion" to me, when Dogster asked for those back in the year I was born & she got me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAjokxHWiKQ

I have now been in 5. I know I only bother writing about shows, because Mom and I are way too busy to be able to record anything else! But keeping track of my little ribbon collection might be worthwhile. This time around was fantastic--the 4th, 5th, and 6th of the month saw me taking 3rd, then 2nd, then 1st!, and then getting Winners Bitch. The third time really was the charm! It was by far my best day yet. Mom can keep the ribbons and the bucket full of paper mache (insert approrpiate accent marks in your mind, please.) I earned my flavored biscuits that came inSIDE the paper in the bucket. Oh, yes.
Oh, yeah, and, around the end of August Rust and I went along on the family trip to Lake Como. No point in detailing it here, we've got all the pics and the video elsewhere, but fun times! Fun times.
Mom also says that, for a sighthound, I move terribly slowly unless I feel like stepping it up. It's true...I do take my dear sweet time and am frequently a roadblock in people's ways. I stand accused of believing myself to be a superhuman person. But I ask you...am I...not??? L=<
Eta: ONE MORE THING.
Mom's dressing as a German beer maiden for Oktoberfest/Halloween this year. For me she's got this sheer red "Harem Dog" get-up. Pics to be added in my personal album. It may just be my favorite thing to wear--I gotta say, looks good on me, and despite being too large (can we adjust it in some way?), it's highly appropriate. Or maybe I've just realized that it's worth getting dressed...I sure put on my best behavior for trying it on, anyways, in exchange for Beggin' Strips. But on a more serious note...
There really is too much going on in Mom's world. But I know wherever she goes, whatever she does, I'll be there. For instance, apple picking! If all goes according to plan I get to come along for that beloved tradition this year. No, I mean, really, more important things than that. Whatever happens...! Me. :P
