Arrival Story:
My husband and I went to the Detroit Zoo adoption day with no plans of getting a dog. We hadn't decided what type of dog we were going to get. I wanted something small to medium sized. I loved whippets and JRT's. My husband wanted something bigger with a big head, more of a 'man's dog'. We got there late and there were not TONS of dogs left. We wandered around and saw this cute black dog just staring at us. There was a family standing by the cage, waiting for a helper to come and get the dog out for them. I squeezed my way up to the cage, looked at my husband and said "We have to see this one". I ran over to a helper and said "I would like to see this dog" and she got her out and the family that was looking at her just stood there and gave me a dirty look. :) We took her out and walked her around, she loved the other dogs and wanted to play with all of them. Then we realized she was a Whippet/PitBull mix! The perfect combination!
Bio:
She was saved from a kill shelter by a rescue organization. She was hard to adopt out because she has some behavioral issues (she hates men in hats, is nervous of strangers,etc) and she has pit bull in her.
