Birthday: March 29th 2006 Likes: Buttercup loves all people and all animals. She is very happy-go-lucky, unlike most schnauzers. She is happiest outside chasing birds, butterflies and leaves. She loves to meet new people and dogs, even the same ones day after day.
Pet-Peeves: Other animals getting near her food, being alone, frustration while trying to bury her bones, and she spends a lot of time scratching whatever item of furniture she is thinking about napping on.
Favorite Toy: Blue Elephant, Mr. Foxy, Goosie, any of my shoes
Favorite Food: raw bones from the butcher - they're best when they've been sitting around for two or three days.
Favorite Walk: a nearby school
Best Tricks: sit, shake
Arrival Story: I've been wanting a miniature schnauzer for years and finally decided to give in to my desires. Best thing I ever did - She's almost 8 months old and is such a great companion.

My 3-year-old Miniature Schnauzer Buttercup is entered in a contest to be named "World's Cutest Dog". Please help by voting her at www.cutestdogcompetition.com and search for "Buttercup" and "Miniature Schnauzer". She's the cute one from Redding, CA. You need to register to vote (to keep it fair) and you can vote once a day until the contest is over. Thanks a lot and wish us luck!
Hi Buttercup is almost three years old and was spade before she was one. Just recently she has shown signs of a "false heat" and she has enlarged nipples, swollen vulva and licks hereself downthere about once an hour. There is a little bit of blood. Her vet says that a few cells from the ovaries might have escaped the surgery and have just matured enough now to be a problem. The dr. suggested we take blood now and check the hormone before she starts another cycle. The worst case scenario, he said, is
to have a pretty invasive exploratory surgery.
Has anyone else gone through this? Any suggestions? Thanks! Sharon & Buttercup
