Arrival Story:
Our mix-breed, Dixie had just disappeared and 101 Dalmatians had just been rereleased. My brother and I wanted a Dalmatian. We slept over at a friends house and came home to a dalmatian puppy asleep on the floor.

Sheba came into my life in September 1993. She loved to run and play when she was young. She was the sweetest dog in the world. She was born deaf, which we didn't learn until she was at least a year old. We were able to invent and teach her a sign language. Even though we still spoke to her. We loved her soo much. In Fall 1997 we got a playmate for Sheba. Pebbles a dachshund. Eventually Sheba became Pebbles mommy and Pebbles was Sheba's baby. Sheba was a little dog trapped in a big dog's body and Pebbles is the reverse. As Sheba got older, her body began to fail her. She was falling without warning and losing control of her bladder. We were terrified of the day we would lose her and how would we know that her pain was too much. How long would our beloved Sheba have to suffer? In her sweet ways she went fast. On the morning of December 18, 2005, she wasn't doing well. Barely was able to hold herself up something had failed. It was a Sunday and we were unable to find any open vets, if she made it to the vet. We had a distant family member die a few days before but my mom and I were not leaving Sheba. So my brother and my dad went to the funeral home. Not even an hour after they left Sheba started to leave us. And at estimated 4:07 pm Sheba went to the Rainbow Bridge. I don't think I've ever cried so hard and at the end of the night my eyes hurt from crying all night. One Christmas Day 2005 we had a memorial service and thanked God that we he had sent our Sheba to us. At first it wasn't like she was even gone. I would ask myself Where's Sheba? Now almost a year after she left us I miss her sooo much. Pebbles cried the first few months. My family I think is almost ready to get a new dog but might not get a dalmatian because we would compare to much to Sheba. She is definitely the best dog I've ever met. Even my dad who is 46 and had grown up around a lot of dogs said she was the best dog ever.
