Arrival Story: A friend of mine (Missy) and co volunteer for Animal Rescue Foundation sent me her picture from our local pound site. She knows how I love BT's. Though I don't really have the room for her in my small yard, my heart broke when I saw her and knew the fate she would have if she stayed there. Our President said I could go get her if I would foster her so off I went. I picked her up Nov.1,2006 and the foundation Vet told me she is 2 or 3 yrs old, has heart worms is probably a used up puppy mill product. She has to be built up before she gets her vaccinations, heart worm treatments and then is spayed. Her skin is very dry but has been shampooed and had a skin conditioning rinse applied. She likes to eat but I guess feeding her was not important where she came from.:-( She is quite thin. Her teeth need to be cleaned. A Capstar helped her rid herself of her flea riders. :-) So many things to work on and the Heart Worm Cough is so sad to see. (No walks till they are gone.) We carry her a lot and know we can't keep her but someone is going to get a wonderful little friend in her. We will love her, do all we can to get her in good health and show her that humans are not all alike.

Bio: Missy is so sweet. She loves to cuddle and be very quiet and still. She likes Bella but Buddy is just OK. She is house trained!!!! That was a surprise. She likes to be in her crate in our bedroom but last night she slept with us. 3 BT's 2 humans in a Queen size bed. You know what? It worked because we love them all. Each in a different way for different reasons. We just have to remember that this is not her forever home , but a stop to get well and learn about love on her way there.

By the time Missy passed away things had changed. We were in the process of adopting her from ARF.
She had come to love Buddy and Bella. Buddy was her self apointed guardian and was very protective of her. They slept together often. She knew this was her forever home and with the wisdom only animals have, knew it before we did. :)
Bella and Buddy looked for her for weeks after she had passed and I know they miss her as much as we do.

It's been 6 months today since you left this world. We still grieve for you Missy. We hold your memory tight and the love in our hearts for you is still there and always will be. Such a precious little girl you were. We were so blessed to have you even for a short time. Rest Baby Girl.
GOLDEN MEMORIES
They say memories are golden, well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories, I only wanted you.
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place no one else could fill.
If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to Heaven and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us back one by one, the chain will link again.

Missy we lost another foster furbaby yesterday. Maybe you have met him already? His name is Raggedy Andy and he is so sweet. Please show him around and be his friend. I miss you and Bentley and Ben as well as Andy.

Today we would have had a special yummy treat for you. We would have been silly mom and dad and sang a sone for you. You would have lots of lisses and belly rubs...........if God had not needed you in Puppy Dog Heaven. It's amazing how one little dog could have touched our lives for very deeply. You did that Missy. We are going on with rescue. I know you see us. We have helped about 50 dogs now to escape death and to regain their health and find wonderful, loving homes. A lot of Boston's have sat on daddy's lap and everyone of them has heard the heart cries of daddy and I when we looked into their eyes. You will live on for as long as we live because we will never let go of the memories we have of the warm sweet body, kind eyes and loving spirit you shared with us. Happy Birthday, Baby Girl. We love you still.
