Arrival Story: Back In the 70's around november My mother's birthday was coming up so her mother (my grandama) and my mom's friend heard about a dog breeder and went to go see the pups. It turned out that the place was a puppy mill. But my Grandma felt very bad for the dog's, so she took the runt of the litter, Rosie. She didn't know what breed Rosie was but when she asked the breeder the breeder responded "Oh she is a old english sheepdog" (which was NOT TRUE AT ALL) My grandma & my mom's friend bought Rose and gave her to my mother for her birthday. So my mom got a puppy from her friend (with my grandma's help). As soon as My mother laid eyes on Rosie she was in Love.
Rosie was yorkie poodle mix with a bunch of other breeds thrown in but she was defently not a sheepdog! (Read rose's Bio to learn more about her)
Bio: Rose was named after a old SNL skit (Rose Roseann Roseanadana). My mom loves those skits! Rosie isn't as gross as the original Roseanadana but the name was perfect. Plus my mom works A LOT with flowers so it was another good fit.
And she was my mom's little Rose. Rosie just adored my mother. She was a huge mama's girl.My mom felt the same towards her first child, their love was simply amazing.

Rosie was very protective of my mother. She didn't really like strangers especially strange men. She loved to go for car rides, she would be a great little car dog. And when my mom parked the car, she went into guard dog mode. She would act all cute, but if anyone got to close to "her" car she would go all cujo and bark, snap, and growl. My mom said she was firey ball of fury and rage when it came to protecting "her ride". But as soon as rose saw my mom she would turn back into a little angel.

Rosie actually helped pick my dad.
My parents i think were already friends and they were with each other and this was the first time Rosie ever met my dad. And if Rosie didn't like him then my mom would not go far with him. (Because if her fur-child didn't like him she wouldn't!)Sounds silly but my mom trusted Rosie. And sure enough Rosie ran up to my dad and dropped her ball at his feet and gave him some kisses. Now Rosie wasn't normally like this to strangers but she just adored my father.

Rosie was one of my mother's only dog's that had many medical problems. She broke her tale once, and my mother didn't know how it happened. So she brought Rosie to the vet, and the vet acused my mom of braking Rosie's tale on purpose! My mom was outraged! After that she moved to a new vet clinic. And a new vet (Dr.Small) And to this day we still bring our beloved pets to that vet. She has had skin problems and many ear problems. She had gotten a very bad ear infection were she needed surgery. she has also had a couple other problems. She also went deaf a few months before she passed. We think all these problems were because she came from a puppy mill.

One time when my parents were driving back from a nature park, after letting their pet skunk Sarah (who my mom bought but felt sry that she could not live a better life so she gave Sarah to the wildlife program) go at a nature place. So it was already a very emotional day for my mother. Rosie had tagged along and they let Rosie run around and for some reason she did not have her collar on. On the way home Rosie must have got excited (becasue she also got happy when they were almost home) and jumped out the back window. Even thought they weren't close to home. My parents didn't know of her absence till they got home. My mom was a wreck, those 2 weeks. They finnally found Rosie. After Rosie had jumped out of the window she went to the nearest house ans stayed there the entire two weeks. she never went far from home again.

In 1993 Rosie was about 16 and had turned deaf and nearly blind. My mother was pregnant with me & my twin brother. Rosie was there with my mom through her very first pregnancy. My mom was nervous because unlike Nelson Rosie was not a big fan of children especially with her old age. Rosie Passed away in October, of 1993 at 16 years old. It was a very sad time for my mother, but a month later me & my brother were born.My mom says that Rosie stayed around just long enough to make sure that my mom and the babies were going to be okay.

Even though i never met Rosie she has a place in my heart. I have seen millions of photos of her, and my mom talks about her almost everyday. I mostly made this page for my mother to honor rosie's great life.

Thursday was the 9th which means I have been at the bridge for 15 years. Yes 15 years. While mom was walking into the kitchen something got her eye and she looked at the calender and saw that she had written on the date of October 9th that I was gone 15 years. And her heart tugged a little.
I am definatly used to being an angel now but I still miss my pawrents (especially my mama) very very much and I know they miss me. But I will always watch over them. And I have been sending extra love their way this year because of some very sad events that have happened in their lives. One including the loss of one of the last remaining of the four "oldies" (me Emma, Nelson, and Maggie). Maggie Moo, the kitty cat (she was the youngest out of all four of us) who joined us all at the bridge this July. It really hit mom a few weeks ago that all of her original fur-babies where all in heaven when she found a picture of us all snuggling on the bed together. But do not worry mama because I will always be there with you, in your heart.

Forever Rosie
Yesterday was 14 years that Rosie left my mom. And the 21st mark of her other dog Missy leaving her. I never got to meet rosie or Missy but rosie especially was my mothers baby girl. They adored each other oh so much. Just like me and my murphy. I know this was a hard day for my mother but she thinks of rosie all the time that is why i made this page so rosie knows she is always loved and always on my moms mind.:((

September 4, 2007 ~ One Year Anniversary of his Passing....
"Crikeys mate!" Steve would say,
Making people smile, everyday.
Wrestlin' crocs, wranglin' snakes,
Swimming with gators, in the lakes.
He feared nothing, not even death,
Right up till his very last breath.
What must have been his final thought?
Was it agony? Did he feel distraught?
I can't even image the pain in his face,
Leaving his family without a final embrace.
My heart goes out to each and every one,
For what they'll surely miss most was the fun.
I hardly ever missed one of his shows,
Always wearing his cool khaki clothes.
Rescuing kangaroos or grumpy crocs,
Or finding those lizards under big rocks.
Always in Australia will you lie in wait,
For Terri, Robert and Bindy at Heaven's gate.
Surely God's blessed you with angel's wings,
And made you keeper of all living things.
For all crocs go to Heaven, it's got to be true!
For why did he take you, if he didn't need you?
The world lost a hero, a very dear friend,
Your death I will never fully comprehend.
