mr daniels is missing.

our beloved mr daniels has been missing since march 13, 2008. he was last seen in cadet, missouri. he was staying with relatives while we were away on business. please, if you have seen him, please let us know. we miss him terribly.

oh so pretty. i look good on film. yup. my handsome face is on the cover of t-shirts, mugs, even a mousepad! dang! choppy's a little jealous because before i came along, he was the star. but let's face it, the camera loves me!

red dog is gone.

mom told me red dog went to live at her forever home. said she was gonna be our cousin since my dad's sister adopted her. but choppy told me that she got sent away because she was bad and that i better watch it or i'm next. i'm scared, cause let's face it, i'm bad. and i know i'm way more bad then red.

editors note: red-dog did in fact go to her forever home and was not sent away for bad behavior. but management will let donkey believe otherwise for the next few days just because.

dear god, it's me, donkey.

i'm afraid my hours are numbered. dad brought home another dog. she's smaller and cuter than me. plus she's a beagle. and we all know how mom feels about beagles. a coon hound don't stand a chance. please, i'm begging....if i'm a really good dog this week, do you think you could find another home for her? i promise to lay off the cat treats. and abstain from trash.

the concept of time.

clocks are like time-bombs of human incompetance. i don't know why we need them. i'm a dog, not a man. why should i have to follow such rigid and archaic rules? but nevertheless, it is what is expected of me. and i must honor my mother's wishes.

since i've been 2.

i've been pretty introspective as of late. sorry i haven't updated this diary in a while. i've just been sitting back, observing my surroundings. pondering life. since turning 2 last month i have learned a few new tricks. i learned how to break into chewy & mutt's house. i stole their dog food several times. i have also perfected pooping on top of objects (i.e. a plastic bowl that was left upside-down outside and a concrete retaining wall).

today is my birthday.

i can't believe i'm 2! honestly i didn't think i'd live this long. i had a hard beginning. spent time tied up, ignored, abandoned and eventually in the pen. but one years ago i got a 2nd chance. my mom and dad came and freed me. and here i am. a coon dog with a home.

it's weird. i can't believe they haven't kicked me out yet. i try and be good. but being bad is just in my blood. speaking of blood, i think i'm like 1/4 bloodhound. anyways, like i was saying... i just love to do bad things. like get in the trash, eat cat turds, and steal food from the kitchen table & stove. if i get a new stuffed animal, i immediately disect it. in fact, i recently was given a loveable pooh-bear of which i promtly gave a lub-bot-tummy (i think there's a new pic of that in my photo section).

but despite all my bad behaviour, my folks keep me around. i just wanted to tell them that i'm much obliged for all their kindness. and at the mature age of 2, i will do my best to overcome (or at least, ignore) my destructive instincts.

since today is president's day, i'd like to give a shout out to ol'abe lincoln. from what i hear he was big on emmancipation, and so am i.

four score and twenty bones ago.... i was but an orhphaned dog. and now i am free.

i love birthdays.

today was my grandpa's birthday. and i got to go off leash and run all over for pretty much the whole day. it was great. i wish it was his birthday everyday. and then when i came back, grandma made me a plate of turkey and it wasn't even thanksgiving??!!!!

do you know anyone having a birthday tomorrow?? cause i'm free.
