Here are the rules of the game. Make a diary entry, giving seven pawsome facts about yourself! Choose seven pals to tag, and list them last! Post the rules of the game. Send your pals a pawmail or rosette telling them they have been tagged to play the game!
My seven facts are:
1. My favorite toy is my squeaky Bobo, one of those loofah dogs.
2. My groomer's name is Lisa.
3. I love going to the vet's office.
4. Sometimes I sleep flat on my back with my legs in the air.
5. I've never met a person I didn't like.
6. I sometimes bark in my sleep.
7. I've sure been missing my mommy all summer!
The 7 pups I am tagging are Max, Sugar, Gizmo, Buttercup, Duffy McDuff, Hershey, and Esperanza, since she tagged me!

Hooray, summer's here! Daddy is off from work, meaning that he's around a lot more during the daytime, and Mommy is working at home more often, meaning that lots of people come to the house for business (she thinks they come to see her, but I know they come to see me!). We spend lots of time outside working in the yard (well, I watch the pawrents work), eating meals in the backyard (I wait for someone to drop a hot dog), and playing ball, frisbee, and football in the fenced yard. Sometimes neighbors kids play chase with me outside, and sometimes birds (my mortal enemies) come into the yard looking for water. That's the best, 'cause then I get to chase them and bark at them to show that its MY yard! BOL! It does get a little hot out there in the sun with all this fur, but that's why they make air conditioning! I wish I could try swimming, but they don't allow four-leggers in the community pool. Maybe I'll see if Daddy will let me run through the sprinkler!

Here's the fun facts about me - Jack!
1. I love to sleep on the back of the sofa where I can survey my entire domain: kitchen, great room, and backyard.
2. I think I'm a rabbit, because I like to eat grass in the backyard.
3. I like to lick people's ears. I don't know why, but I think they taste really good!
4. I think I'm always the alpha dog in any situation. Even when I meet big dogs, I stand on my hind feet and try to look bigger than them, but always in a fun, social way, never meanly. (I'm only a Bichon, you know!)
5. I run to the freezer when I hear the ice maker crackle and sit patiently for my ice cube treat.
6. I'm convinced that if a person, kid, bird, cat, random blowing plastic bag, child's toy, or anything comes within sight of my backyard (which includes about 5 other yards than mine) that its about to personally threaten me, my home, and my family, and I bark like a German sheperd until the offending object a) leaves or b) doesn't interest me anymore (which could be anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes).
7. I like to stick my head under my pawrents' bed, leaving my back legs and tail hang out.
I was tagged so many times yesterday! I guess I didn't get on Dogster to check and see what was going on (oops!), so THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everypup who tagged me! I feel so loved and fun!
Roxie
Sassy
Buddy
Gracie Jane
Princess Emma
Esperanza
Pooh Bear

So, I'm going to tag lots of pups! Since I can't do 70 pups, and 7 is just too few, this is what I'm going to do: I'm going to rosette tag every pup in my pawmail inbox! I'm going to tag:
Bailey
Gibbon
Sugar
Buttercup
JR
Hershey
Maybe lle
Mocha
edgrr
Tessa

Tonight, I got a bath. Ack! Last night, Mommy was in the bathtub, and I was looking at her like she was crazy for being in their of her own free will. Little did I know what those sneaky pawrents had in store for me just 24 hours later . . . Usually, the humans plunk me in the bathtub and pour water over me, but tonight, they filled it up really deep, and they kept looking at me hopefully saying, "swim, Jack, swim!". Whatever "swim" means, weirdos. In any case, I liked the deep water; it kept me nice and warm. Then, I got scrubbed down, squeezed dry, toweled dry, and then (injustice of injustices) blown dry. Ugh. I'm no girly Bichon! And then, to add to the utter humiliation of the experience, Mom posted the bath photos on my Dogster page for all the world to see! Oh no! I'm so embarrased. . . . *blushes*

Last week, I had to have a root canal! Two weeks ago, my pawrents noticed that one of my front teeth was dicolored while they were brushing my teeth. They were pretty alarmed since I had just been in for my yearly exam at the vet's, and she said my teeth were fabulous! Mommy panicked, and the next morning, we were at the vet's again! She told us that I had somehow killed the tooth, but that I was in no pain. She suggested that we go to see a dental specialist for a check-up.
Many helpful thoughts and prayers from my Dogster friends later, I went to the dental specialist, and he confirmed that the tooth was dead. He said that he generally sees this kind of injury from dogs running into things (hmm . . . all that uncontrolled blitzing on the linoleum . . . hmm. . . maybe I should wear a helmet!). He advised that I get a root canal that day to remove the dead blood vessels and nerves from inside the tooth to prevent future infection. Mommy cried when she left me at the doctor's for my surgery, but they took great care of me. I got some gaseous pain reliever while they administered my anesthesia, then the general anesthesia (zzzz . . .), and then novocaine around the tooth before any surgery began!
A few hours later, Daddy picked me up to go home, having completed a succesful surgery to save my tooth. He thought my post-operative anesthetized state was hysterical. Mommy cried her eyes out. (Pawrents -- sheesh!) I could barely muster the energy to wag my tail, but by late evening, I was a chow hound! I ate three bowls of moistened kibble, a whole slice of cheese, and a peanut butter-stuffed Kong! Yum - O!
After one long, strange night's sleep, I was back to my old self the next morning. I finished five days of antibiotics and pain medications, and I got a fresh groom to get rid of that odd post-op odor. I feel great, and so does my tooth! In fact, I don't think this whole process caused me any significant pain at all, so I'm just scratching my head about the whole ordeal. Root canals: what will these crazy, overprotective pawrents of mine do next?

For the past two and a half weeks, it has snowed, snowed, and snowed some more at my house! It has been super cold for Ohio with wind chills down to -15 degrees F, and we've probably had about 10 inches of snow and freezing rain and ice on top of that. While everypup was busy staying inside to stay warm, I couldn't wait to get out in it! That snow and cold weather makes me frisky! I like blitz in the snow; I like to chase snowballs (where do they go when they land?). I run and bark and try to get my pawrents to chase me around in the drifts. I even got to spend more time with my pawrents who were home for five days because of the pawful weather. I love that extra time with my favorite humans!
It was so deep for a while, that I had a hard time doing my business, so my daddy shoveled me a "moat" around my backyard next to the fence so that I could have places to go without freezing my bum to the ground. Then, when the freezing rain came, it made such a thick layer on top of the snow, that I could walk on top of several inches without falling through! And the ice made lots of icicles. Since I love ice cubes so much (I run to the fridge everytime I hear them in the freezer), my mommy broke off the biggest one and brought it into me for a treat. I licked it and played with it for two hours! That's longer than some of my squeaky toys have lasted!
The only downside: my favorite backyard treat, rabbit poop, is hopelessly buried underneath the snow, which means I have to put my whole head into the drifts to search for it. What an incovenience! And of course, when I come inside, I have to be blow dried. Sheesh! I get snowballs stuck in my armpits and in between my foot pads. First, I get dried with a towel, and then I get blow dried like a sissy girl. C'mon pawrents! I'm a big tough dog; I can take a little ice, right? At least when its all said and done, I can warm up in front of my fireplace and chew my bone. This is the life, pups!

I asked a very special Bichon girl to be my Valentine, and she said yes! I have my first ever Valentine, and I couldn't be more excited! Her name is Sugar, and she is also a Bichon, just my size. (You can see her page; her Dogster ID is 283696.) She and her brother Chester were two of my first Dogster friends, and they have been two of my best Dogster buddies ever since. I think Sugar and I have had a crush on each other from the beginning, so I'm very excited to be her Valentine. Whoopie! *Jack does the blitz!*

Everypup, I'm so excited! Princess Divas and Prince Charmings (PDPC) asked me to be a group administrator! I'm so happy that I can't stop wagging! I love this group and so many of my good Dogster friends are in it. I get to help with the weekly newsletter doing a joke of the week and even run a contest. How fun is that? Is Dogster not the best??????????

Today was the most exciting day ever; it felt just like Christmas! (And I know how that feels now that I had one!) Princess Divas and Prince Charmings named me their Royal Dog of the Week for the second week of January! (Check out my picture with my royal crown on my throne that the group administrator, and my friend, Madison, made for me!) I'm so excited and wagged and blitzed all morning to celebrate. Mommy and Daddy say that they're really proud of me, and I'm proud, too, to receive such an honor. I think I'll go take a royal nap . . . .
