Food, belly scratches, Uncle Ric giving him a headband, pig ears, biting brother Angus' legs, under-collar scratches, little kids, running at the dog park, black dogs, Daddy, rolling in the grass, when Aunt Steph drops a hot dog at a BBQ.
When cousin Otis wants to play and he's sleepy, Daddy's yellow shorts, certain cats that won't let him touch them, leaving the park when he'd rather roll in the grass, getting his butt "squoozed", not enough dinner, and when Angus gets more attention.
His brother Angus' legs and the fart machine. Any new soft toy that he can perform a stuffing and sqeakerectomy on. Beware all soft toys, Dr. Cal is in the building!
Hmmm....EVERYTHING? Corn on the cob (see picture). Anything we are eating, anything he finds outside at the park, even if it is covered in red ants (blech!), hot dogs, steak, pig ears, the list goes on and on.
Fort Lowell Park Oasis...he wants to be an ATB...All Terrain Beagle! Loves to walk in the little streams there.
Sit, Stay, Sit Pretty, Down, Speak, Shake. He does a great sit and stay when I put his food down or throw a treat on the ground. And doggie pushups are his specialty!
My sister worked at a company in downtown Tucson. One day, she found this wonderful dog wandering exhausted around the parking lot. Knowing our dog had died about a year ago and it was time for a new dog-pal, she called me. I fell in love before I even saw Calvin. He came to us exhausted, but with stitches still in from being fixed. We put up signs, called animal control and searched the papers, but no one claimed him, thank Dog. He is the best dog ever!!
We have no idea how old Mr. C really is. His face has started to become a bit grey, and that makes us sad, since he is the best dog on the face of the planet. I never knew I could love a dog so much. We had him for about a month when one day I took him out for a walk on leash. The neighbor came over with her dalmation to say "hi" and her dog attacked poor Calvin. Cal laid down on his back and surrendered. The dalmation ripped him up pretty bad and he had to have surgery and lots of stitches. Then, the day he had his stitches out, the same dog slipped her leash (yeah, right) and attacked him again, this time even worse. He suffered numerous lacerations, puncture wounds, and a broken tail. It was the saddest thing. He and I went to live with my mother until my husband could find us a new place to live.
I felt a little guilty when we added Angus the pug to our family because Ang is a trouble maker and also DEMANDS attention, while Cal is really laid back. So sometimes Ang gets more attention, though I always make up for it with extra scratches and the occassional bit of steak or roast beef when Angus isn't looking.
So, I guess by now you know that we would do absolutely anything for our baby. Calvin K. Peanut is my friend, my household protector (great barker!), my fur-baby...he is my Love Dog!!

My Mom and Dad have gone off the deep end. Seriously.
They brought home two new dogs, named Teenie and Moki. They are, get this, PUGS. What is the deal with these little dogs and my parents?? I told them specifically I wanted a black labrador, and what do I get instead? Two more "Angus" dogs. Life is NOT fair.
All I can say is, they better not hump me.

I am loving my new yard here in Oklahoma. The best part is that the dirt is so diggable! The other day, I dug and dug and dug and then the hole was so deep that my entire body fit into it. I think there was some little animal in there, cause it really smelled funny. My mom said there might be something called a go-fur, whatever that is. All I know is, I love to dig in soil that is soft and moist, not like in Arizona where I could dig for days and not even make a small hole.
Boy, did Mom get mad at me when I came in through my dog door and jumped up on the bed with her while she was still sleeping...I don't know what the big deal was, I was only a LITTLE dirty, only up to my chest. And the blankets go into that machine with the water and come out all clean and non-smelly anyway. Pshaw, what's the big deal?
The only thing I don't like about Oklahoma is I never get to go to the dog park anymore. My Mom and Dad said there isn't one here! Can you believe it???

Last night I was sleeping soundly on my big cushion on the floor next to my Dad's side of the bed and Angus (my dorky little brother) woke me up hacking. I just went back to sleep. I told him yesterday not to eat those wood chips, but did he listen?? No-o-o-o. Typical. He thinks he is such a hot shot, but I do like him, sometimes. It is much more fun now that he is around. Especially when I chew on his legs and sit on his head; that is always good for a laugh.
So, this morning I jumped up on the bed when everyone was asleep and made myself comfortable. I can protect the house just as well from up there, I guess. I have to hold Mom down by laying on her legs anyway, as I don't want her to float away in the night. Trust me, I have seen it happen. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I saw when I was on my own. *shudder*
Speaking of which, I had a dream last night that I was on the road again. It really sucked. I like it much better with Mom and Dad, even if I do have to share my dog door with Angus, the pug pain in the tail. When I woke up this morning and saw Mom and Dad and Angus, I was really happy. Just couldn't stop wagging my tail until Dad got up and fed me.
Ohhhhhh yeah! Pumpkin and Wellness Kibble, what a combination. Ahhhhhh. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. And tonight it is Mom's stew for dinner. I never get tired of it. Yummy!!!
Okay, just saw a lizard, gotta go and kill it. Well, chase it anyway. Might be my mid-morning snack if I work hard enough.
