on monday this week we lost fitz, my friend he went over the rainbow. he would have been 14 on april 5. he was loosing his sight and hearing and his kidneys were shutting down. that meant lots of peepee to clean up. we didn't mind though. he is over the rainbow bridge with our other 2 dogs, hollie and sasha. we know he is happy to see them and having a wonderful healthful life there. i miss him very much. i still have my human's grandson to keep me active though... maybe one day they will get me another friend. i know it will take them some time because they loved fitz so very much.

It has been a fun winter so far, Jen, our moms daughter, had something called a baby!! Fitz can't figure out what all the comotion is when he cries. He just starts barking. He is very cute, but does get loud when he cried sometimes. Guess when he gets bigger and we can chase him, it will be more fun(woofwoof) He does let us give him a couple of kisses though(at least his mom lets us). Mom has been spending so much time with him, that we miss her when she is at his house. We know she is trying to help, cus being a first time mom isn't easy. She remembers, even harder when she had something called "twins". Thank goodness they are all grown up now. When she gets home though, its all hugs, kisses and treats for me and Fitz. We can't go with her cus their dog is kind of hyper and we don't like that. We like things quiet, with other animals. Guess we are just getting older. Do any of you have "babies " at your house? Maybe you can help us to know what you do with them. Thanks, Maye and Fitz.

Well, here it is just 2 weeks before Christmas. Mom is getting everything ready. She really likes this time of year. It's ok for us, we just hate all the stuff in the living room and on "our" couch. Guess we have to sleep on the one in the rec room. Me and Fitz love everyones holiday picture. It's funny how humans like to dress us up.
Well, Fitz and I, and of course Mom, wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Here are the rules we were told to obey.......Enjoy
Dog's Rules For Christmas
1. Be especially patient with your humans during this time. They may
appear to be more stressed-out than usual and they will appreciate
long comforting dog cuddles.
2. They may come home with large bags of things they call gifts. Do
not assume that all the gifts are yours.
3. Be tolerant if your humans put decorations on you. They seem to
get some special kind of pleasure out of seeing how you look with
fake antlers.
4. They may bring a large tree into the house and set it up in a
prominent place and cover it with lights and decorations. Bizarre as
this may seem to you, it is an important ritual for your humans, so
there are some things you need to know: Don't pee on the tree...
Don't drink water in the container that holds the tree... Mind your
tail when you are near the tree... If there are packages under the
tree, even ones that smell interesting or that have your name on
them, don't rip them open... And Don't chew on the cord that runs
from the funny-looking hole in the wall to the tree.
5. Your humans may occasionally invite lots of strangers to come
visit during this season. These parties can be lots of fun, but they
also call for some discretion on your part: Not all strangers
appreciate kisses and cleans. Don't eat off the buffet table. Beg for
goodies subtly. Be pleasant, even if unknowing strangers sit on your
spot on the sofa -- they don't know any better. Don't drink out of
glasses that are left within your reach unless you can get away with
it...
6. Likewise, your humans may take you visiting. Here your manners
will also be important: Observe all the rules in #4 for trees that
may be in other people's houses. (4a is particularly important)
Respect the territory of other animals that may live in the house. Be
nice to the kiddies. Turn on your charm big time.
7. A big man with a white beard and a very loud laugh may emerge from
your fireplace in the middle of the night. DO NOT BITE HIM!!!
