Being with me or my sister, sleeping, eating treats
In his younger years, doorbells and men. Now, other dogs getting in his space.
He used to like to play frisbee in his younger years
Hot dogs, cottage cheese, any human food
He used to like to walk around the parks in North Carolina
Sit, down, shake, roll over, wave bye-bye
I got Mickie in St. Louis. I got him from a breeder. I did not know much about the plight of animals in shelters at the time, regretfully. But, I wouldn't trade Mickie for the world now. I grew up with a sheltie named Tippy, and so I've always held a special place in my heart for shelties.
Mickie was my very first dog. I got him when he was 3 months old. I couldn't get him to poddy anywhere except on newspapers. We would walk around the park for an hour and he'd hold it til he got back in the apartment and go on the papers. Finally, I got a crate for him at my vet's recommendation. It took one night, and wa-la, he was poddy trained to go outside! He has been everywhere with me. St. Louis, various apartments in IU in Bloomington, my mom and dad's home, North Carolina, and my home in Lafayette. He is a most beloved dog. I don't know what I will do when his time comes to leave me. I hope I still have a year or two with him. I will cherish whatever I get. I have to help him down steps, and carry him up steps now. I think he's doing great for his age, though! My sister, Jennie, is his other favorite person )next to me). Mickie was always great with all animals. I have pictures of him with baby kittens, my bunnies, other dogs. He was always how I could tell the temperament of other animals.
