Hi everyone!
If you're still following Edward's story, please send him some good thoughts and/or prayers. This morning I got this email from his poor dad:
Just wanted to send a quick update to let you know
that Edward had to undergo emergency surgery last
Wednesday. I noticed that Edward was unable to stand
up by himself or use his legs so I took him to the
animal hospital where he was admitted overnight.
After an MRI, they noticed he had a disc rupture,
where part of the spinal cord and appending cartiledge
breaks off and lodges itself into a different area of
the spinal cord, suppressing it and leaving him
paralyzed. He underwent surgery and he's home now,
although in a lot of pain =( He's slowly beginning to
walk again though his recoup will be about 2-3 weeks.
Just wanted to let you know that he's OK and will be
back to normal in a short time.
Edward's dad is a hero for giving him the surgery, and our family as well as Young At Heart is wishing Edward a speedy recovery. Poor, poor puppy!
We love you, sweet-eared Edward! Feel better, baby!

Hi all you Max fans! I recently got an email from Max's mom telling me all about how he's doing. I think you'll agree that it's just about the best life ever. He went from living in a back room all the time to the lap of luxury showing off his karate moves and bossing everyone around.
Check it!
************************
Max does love the snow ... he likes to bound through the deep
parts, and drop his ball in the big drifts, just so he can dig it out
again.
He's starting to make peace with Mr. Kitty... at first he really wanted
to eat him, now he just wants to taste him.
He really is a big baby - he insists on being covered with a blanket at
certain naptimes. He's quite settled in as a member of my little pack.
If I fall asleep on the couch, he's right there with me - and Trixie
too. When I go to bed, he crawls right under the blankets. When my DH
gets up before I do, Max won't get up until I'm ready to go...
I've decided to ask for a tiara that spells out "ALPHA" in rhinestones
for my birthday.
We do very occasionally have trouble with Mr. Max getting his nose out
of joint, and then he decides that he needs to "mark" his territory
inside the house. The vet says that this is an anxiety issue... If Max
could re-arrange his universe, he would not have to share "top-doggie"
status with Trixie, but they really have worked it out. She doesn't
take his bossing, but he has other doggie friends/relatives that he
uses his karate moves on. He even likes to boss the humans. When any
family members are rough-housing, Max is usually right there barking
and basically telling them to "BEHAVE! sheesh!"
******************
The best news ever is a dog winding up with a family who loves him or her and really understands. Max's mom obviously really gets him, which for a dog with that much personality is a must. His mom is a hero.
Thanks for checkin in, Maxie's mom!
P.S. - She included photos! Check out the new ones!
