Arrival Story:
Nelly was the last of a litter flown in from Ireland, all of whom were adopted in a matter of a day or two. These pups were all bred for disposition, but I think Nelly must be the best of the bunch, because she's so good-natured. And she's quite mellow for a Wheaten.
Bio:
Nelly steals and eats things. It's her specialty, despite our attempts to put things out of her reach. So far, the list includes 500 mg of predisone, lipstick, a bouquet of roses, sunglasses, underwear, half a pound of raw bacon, a stick of butter, and a portable CD player...
She has the most soulful eyes with loooong eyelashes.

I have always been shy about sharing my poetry, but Mama says I should. The truth is that I write a lot of poetry when I'm inspired. I'm going to start posting it here.
Here's an old one Mama found while cleaning out her office today. It's from July 10, 2004. I had an ear infection and went to the vet (Dr. Jaio) and got groomed on the same day by my beloved Vinny.

A ROUGH DAY
My ears hurt - Ow!
Mama took me to Dr. Jaio
My Mama cleaned my fanny
and took me to Vinny
He shaved my rectum
If he ran for president, I'd elect him.

I finally got my "cast" off but my fur underneath was a mess. Mamas took me to Vinnie to get groomed and we all thought he was going to have to shave my leg. But he took extra time to cut out all the mats and he just gave me a nice short haircut! So instead of having a weird shaved leg I just have a nice trim all over. Vinnie is the best!
I feel fine but the vet told Mamas I have to have bed rest for 4 more weeks. I spend an awful lot of time in the crate. I really don't mind it, and they are really surprised about that. But it's kind of comfy in there. I'm happy to just chill for a while.
Yesterday was Barkley's birthday. Where's the cake? Where's the party?
