Arrival Story: I was the cool bonus when mommy and daddy went to the foster lady's home to see my littermate Othello. They found me there too! Bo, my big brother, had been having a rough time of it. He was a bit sad since his littermate, Luke, had passed away. He missed running and romping with other labbies. We are the antidote to that!
According to the shelter, my mommy is a black lab-Rottie mix, and both of her parents were purebreds. But, my human mommy and daddy think that my doggie daddy was something very different, since there aren't many black labs or rotties who are white with black splotches. :)
Bio: I've been at my new fur-ever home for 5 days now, and I love it here. I just learned the joy of treats last night -- oh are they good! I figured out that if I plunked my tush on the floor, mommy and daddy would give me yummy things to eat, so now I do it any time I see them - just in case they have a treat handy.
Ok, I've now been here for a few weeks, and we really really like it. Xander and Baby don't seem so keen about us, but Bo has been just the bestest big brother ever. He's showed us how to tear all the bark off of trees, and how to rip apart toys and shred them all over the backyard, and...
Oooooh, we had the fun of going to grandma and grandpa's for the holidays -- it was so much FUN!!! There were 6 doggies there and we played and played, and I got a new nickname -- Puddles! (But, I don't think mommy was too happy when she would say it, since it seemed to be what I was called right after each time I peed inside on the floor...)
I got to go swimming yesterday! And, I don't mean what I normally mean. Normally this means that we walk to the river, and I get to wade up to my knees while daddy holds my much too short leash. Noooo, not yesterday. Yesterday daddy brought a special leash that was 12 feet long. I got to go in over my head!! I was doggy paddling and splashing and I even snorkled a bit. The only part of me that wasn't wet afterwards was the top of my snout and my eyelids. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!! Oh, summer is a wonderful time!
I was sooo happy last week, but now it's all ruined. We'd gotten a new sister - her name was Oreo. I *loved* Oreo. We were perfect together. She liked to cuddle and be lazy - just like ME. we would sleep together in the crate, and I shared my blankie with her (and she didn't try to take it all or to shred it, she just shared it). We would give each other kisses and we loved being together. I was soooo happy.
Then, on MOnday, she left. Mommy tried to explain that she had been a foster sister and that she got "adopted" and now she has her own furever home and I should be happy, but I MISS OREO!!. Goldie is nice, but she's just not my Oreo...
