Oh my, I've been tagged. Now to sort out how to play:
This is what you have to do. Listen up because it’s different than usual.
You have to write a letter to Santa Paws with 5 requests in your diary.
Then you have to give whoever tagged you 5 bones or treats.
Then tag 5 more cats or dogs.
Dear Santa Paws: This Christmas I wish for the following things:
1. lots of peanut butter and bones to chew on
2. homes for all the kitties and doggies (and any other animals!) in shelters and in foster homes
3. extra time to play with mommy, daddy, and the skin pup
4. did I mention the peanut butter and bones?
5. the weather to warm back up so that I can lounge in my tub again!
I Christmas Tag the following fur-friends:
1. Jackson
2. Roscoe
3. Kodiak
4. Belle
5. Jasper Petey

So this squally little thing has moved into our house.
Mommy went away for days and days and when she came back, she and daddy had this little bundle in their arms. It screams and cries. And it seems to always be hungry. Just always hungry. I've met him twice and I'm still not sure what to make of him. He seems ok though - I think I'll like him in the long run.

Ok, so we know that we are supposed to be happy puppies right now, but Falstaff , Bo, and I are SAD puppies today.
The day started off great! We got hugs and cuddles from daddy, and then were told we were going to Petsmart. Yippee!! So, all 4 of us (Falstaff + Bo + Oreo + me) got in the back of the pickup. Daddy has these chain contraptions that go from one bed rail to the other that our harnesses snap onto so we can't jump out (darn it), but it's still great to get into the pickup.
We got to Petsmart and ooooh, there were other doggies there, and one of the doggies was PIPER!! Yay!! We got to see him and catch up on what's been happening, and... But, they put Oreo into a crate near the front door with Piper and some of the other doggies. We didn't quite understand it. And all these people we didn't know kept coming up and petting her and talking about her. Piper claimed a spot on Mommy's lap and stayed there for HOURS. Bo, Falstaff, and I just got to wander the aisles with daddy and get lots of pets from the people in the store (and a couple of people snuck us some doggie treats too).
But, then they said "yay - Oreo got adopted!". We didn't understand what they meant, but they moved her crate (the people had to run some errands before they could come back to her) down closer to us. So, ok, that means more Oreo time with us. yay! But then, a little bit later mommy and daddy said it was time to head home. Ok, no problem - truck trip again! But but but - they didn't bring Oreo with us!!! Apparently adopted = no longer our sissy???????
We've been moping since we got home. We MISS our sissy! But mommy says that she really scoped out the people taking her. Oreo will have 3 furbrothers and sisters - a labbie mix and two yorkies. She also gets a 5 year-old boy to play with all the time. She gets to be an indoor doggie with people who were really excited about her personality and were trying to come up with a name that fit her (she still doesn't know to come to Oreo so it's ok to change it). They have a fenced in back yard, and are used to taking their labbie on long walks every morning and evening. The people are hoping that Oreo likes laying on the couch - we thought that sounded like a good sign!
We might be getting a new foster brother or sister this evening. We considered giving Piper another try, but he got all snippy with Bo and Falstaff this afternoon. Mommy's doing better though, because he seemed so happy to see her, and in such a better mood after just getting to hang with her at the store for the whole morning.

Ok, so my last main post was about the pool that Bo destroyed.
What I hadn't gotten to post was that Daddy got me a replacement the next Saturday - yay! (sorry, I've been sitting in it all the time and so forgot to write to y'all about it. whoops!) I LOVE my pool. Mommy and daddy thought that falstaff would like it too, but he won't get into it. So it's all mine.
Or, rather, it was. grrr.
We got a new foster sister, and SHE also likes my pool! And, she's big - like bigger than me! So she got here monday night. On Tuesday, she claimed my pool. Oh no! I was not happy. But yesterday, we stunned mommy with our solution. She looked outside, and Oreo and I were BOTH in the pool at the same time! She didn't think we'd both fit, but if you squeeze really hard...
Ahhh, I have my pool back. :)

I'm mad. M-A-D at my brothers. And so sad. Mommy says she's never heard that sad of a noise come out of my mouth. :( :((
Yesterday, when mommy and daddy came home from work, they said that they had a surprise for us. Well, quite honestly, we didn't really care about the surprise -- it was HOT here yesterday, and all we wanted to do was collapse! We'd been hiding in the shade all afternoon and had no energy for a surprise.
Then, daddy got this weird plastic (he says vinyl, but it sure looked like plastic to me) thing out and the hose. HEY bathtime is NOT a good surprise! But, he swore no bath. And he fussed with it and then as he was putting water in it, mommy climbed in. She started calling to us, but nuh-uh, no-way, this looks like a bath.
Finally, daddy put a leash on Falstaff and walked him out with mommy - yup, gonna be a bath. But Falstaff just stood there and got his paws wet, and they let him go. So daddy decided it was my turn. I get leashed, walked to go in with mommy, and
OMD - the water was soooo cool and tasty and it felt sooo good on my black fur and it wasn't a bath. I don't know what it was, but it was amazing!!! And mommy stayed with me and was petting me and I sat down and laid down and felt sooooo good. Better than I had all day. Daddy took the leash off of me and I stayed with mommy for a bit, then went to tell the other doggies to come outside it was great then came back when they wouldn't listen and climbed back in with mommy. ahhhhhhhhhh
And, less than an hour later Bo attacked it and destroyed it and daddy had to throw it away! :( :(( my wonderful thingamajiggee is gone. in the trash heap, never to be enjoyed again. I mewed (according to mommy) when daddy took it out the gate to the trashcans.
I am not speaking to Bo today. Its supposed to be hot again, and I won't have my nice bowl of cold water to lay down in. *sniff*

Wow - do you other doggies have pawrents who do the sunday brunch notion? If so, you gotta hang around close to them when they say they're doing it. Ooooh, the bacon is soooooooooooooooo good!!! We had brunch with mommy and daddy, and then went outside to play, then off for a walk, where I got to lay down in the river, then back to play outside, then cuddle time with mommy, then back outside to play... I like spring!

Yesterday was the bestest day ever! About the only thing that could have made it better would have been if mommy and daddy had been home from work. (We think that work is highly over-rated. I mean really, do our humans REALLY need to leave us to go off to this job thing? Daddy says they do, but...)
First, mommy played with us in the morning (she went in to work late) -- yay!
Then, daddy got home from work and gave us each a slice of deli meat. YUM turkey!!
Then he left for a bit, and when he came back he was doing weird stuff in the back of his truck. Falstaff and I didn't understand it, but Bo seemed to. He got REAL excited when he saw what daddy was doing - too excited to make sense when he was talking. All we got was oooh a ride a ride a ride - but we go for rides in the back of the car, not the truck silly!
Then daddy got us harnassed up and took us for a really short walk - Falstaff and I were not amused. But Bo (the biggest walker in the family) didn't seem to mind, so we decided not to protest too loudly. Besides, mommy should be home any minute now, so we wanted to be home to meet her!
So, back to the house, but we didn't go in the house, we went to the pickup truck. And Bo hopped right up into the back - oh no, Falstaff and I aren't about to do that. There's this weird chain across it, but Bo's saying "c'mon c'mon!", so with a bit of prodding from daddy, we finally got up in there... And daddy hooked our harnesses to that chain -- HEY, what's the trick here???
Then we saw mommy's car coming home. Oooh, mommy will protect us and save us! But she just petted our heads and told daddy she was ready to go.
At first, it was the wierdest thing. The truck started rumbling, and Bo just went spastic. Falstaff and I kinda crouched and looked around - we didn't get it at all. But then with a couple of shudders the truck started to move.
After about 15 minutes, it was the greatest thing we'd ever experienced! There was wind and smells and we could stand up and move a few feet (couldn't get our paws on the sides of the truck though, darn it! if only that chain wasn't holding us back. grr). And daddy took us down a gravel road and it was just fantastic!
The ride seemed wayyy too short, then we were back home, and went to the back yard (something about drool and wet and make sure they pee before they come in my house - hrmph!). But, then daddy appeared with PORK. yes, you heard me right, PORK. Big chunks of pork tenderloin. YUM!!!!! Sooooo much better than our kibble.
After that, we got to cuddle up with mommy and watch the dog whisperer until we fell asleep. Then it was off to bed time. Ahhhhhh, the bliss.

So, yesterday daddy came home early, and it was nice out, and he got our harnesses and asked who wanted to go for a walk? So I ran over to see him, and got into my harness. My foolish brother Falstaff ran out the doggie door and hid in the farthest corner of hte back yard. So daddy said he didn't have to go (have to go? what is this "have" to go with a walk - they're the bestest!). Bo couldn't decide whether to get his harness on or to chase the squirrels in the backyard, so he also got left behind. That meant that I got to go all by myself!!!
It was sooooo nice. I walked very pretty beside daddy the whole time and barely tugged at all (hey, you never know when you'll have another chance to convince daddy you deserve extra walks). My only problem was when the scary school bus went by, but I just hid behind daddy for a bit and came out as soon as it went past. Oh I hope the rain stops early enough today that we can do it again when he gets home!

Hi everydoggie!
This is my first try at typing a diary, so forgive me if it's not too good. Big sis (Baby) has volunteered to help me out a bit, especially with the big words (like especially). I am only 9 weeks old after all.
Last Thursday was a big day for me. My brother Falstaff and I were first taken to the vets home to get a round of shots and play with all the doggies there (they run the county shelter in their back yard, so we had lots of play mates, but some of them were a lot bigger than us!). Then, we didn't go back to our foster home. Instead, we stayed there all afternoon and into the evening. The nice lady gave us baths (I like baths) and let us nap on her floor. We didn't know what was going on, but she said it might be a special night for us.
After we woke up, someone rang the doorbell. And, they seemed nice, but even better, they brought a doggie with them! I ran up to him and stood up on my back lags and thunked him on the nose. And he woofed and wagged his tail and followed me to the play area. Oh, we had soooo much fun playing. It took Falstaff a bit, but he joined in the fun too. After a bit, another guy came and joined us - but he didn't bring a doggie with him. We were more used to the two nice ladies and the guy holding the doggie's leash, so we stayed close to them. But, after a bit, the really nice lady convinced me to go see the other guy, and he was pretty nice too and petted me a lot. After a while, I could tell something was up. The first nice people who had come with the dog kept staring at the guy, and they looked worried. Not scared, just worried. Then, he went outside for a bit, came back in, and went back out. When he came back the next time, he said he was going to have to head home. Kinda weird, but ok - humans are like that. But, when he said that, the doggie's pets looked soooo happy!
After a bit, they took the doggie out to the car and were getting ready to leave. There was some talk about vets and adoption and we didn't know what it was all about - we were getting sleepy, but were just hoping the doggie could come back again to play, it have been so much FUN! Then, though, the nice lady and the nice guy took out collars and put them on me and Falstaff. And we went out the door with them to the car with the doggie. They explained that we were going to a new forever home and that we'd get to play with the doggie (his name is Bo) every day. Yippee!!
I'll let Falstaff tell the rest of the story in his diary. But now we're here and we just love our new mommy and daddy. Bo has been a great big brother - always taking care to show us around. Ok, Falstaff is getting a bit impatient. I'd better let him get on here. Bye for now!
