Today, just 3 short days after her 17 birthday, Ivy has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. She was with her for the last 8 years after her Mama Betty passed away and we were blessed with exuberance and joy for life as Jack Russell's have. She led a good life, happy to have a family and big brother, whom she regularly bossed around. We will miss her and remember her everyday. We love you Little Ivy. Mommy and Daddy and Chopper

Almost lost you

This year we almost lost you but you are now 16 years old and still going. Two major surgeries and two weeks in intensive care and you pulled through. I love to watch you bound around the house for just those couple of moments each day when you feel ok again but mostly now with all the changes of age you sleep. Content in the quietness of hearing loss and teeth nearly too old to chew your food we still see the little mischievous imp that came to us with the loss of G'ma Betty now nearly 8 years ago. We love you little I've and I think you love us too.

Lazy Summer

This summer has been long and hot...I am getting older now and I just love to lay in the house in the sunshine or lay outside in the sunshine..Momma takes me for short walks in the late evening so that I can visit my neighbor friends. The kids love to pet me, since I am small and just their size! And if I am lucky, they have leftover 'popsicle' juice on their face that I can lick off!

Mom and Dad took Choppy and me to Bark in the Park....Wow---there must have been 3000 dogs there! Alot of them were small like me... I saw alot of JRTs (Jack Russell Terrors) there and got to greet a few...Then I got tired and Daddy put me in my 'pouch' and carried me around.. We did the Mile walk and people smiled as they saw Daddy carrying me. Choppy was walking and trying to greet all the other dogs...Boy did he get tired! We visited all the vendors and all the booths.. I Stayed away from that toenail trimming area! Well---we all were pretty tired by the time the walk was over and we had a great time. Choppy and I Fell asleep on the couch later dreaming of all the fun we had!

It has been a great summer--Mommy & Daddy & Chopper & I all go for walks in the evening to get our exercise. Mom & I try to keep up with Choppy, but he is a big dog and my little legs just don't go that fast. Anyway, I have to stop and smell the roses along the way to enjoy my walks! Every Saturday, we go to the Farmer's Market. I love all the attention I get when I go there, and they have milkbones there also...We get our vegetables and then go to the coffee shop. Dad lays our blanket down and Choppy and I take a nap in the sun.....I hate to see Summer End!

Hot off the presses. Chopper and Ivy won most photogenic in the St. Louie tails Magazine contest for April 2007. The "Sleeping in the Sun" picture was a winner!!!!!!! Chopper (Bubby for short) and Ivy love the sunbeams that flow in our bedroom window in the morning. They actually fight over the sun---but have jointly decided to now just share the sun...... What a pair!
