Arrival Story:
I am a dog behaviorist, I go to my clients homes to give classes in controlling server aggressive behavior. My website is www.CarolHazel.com. On Oct 9th. 2006 I was teaching a class at one of my clients homes when my client told me about a pure bred Rottweiler that her tenet was trying to give away. She asked me if I wanted the dog. I asked what was the age and sex of the dog. I was told, “itâ€â„ ¢s a female and it’s only 7 weeks oldâ€?. I asked why someone was trying to ‘get rid of’ a 7 week-old Rottie. She told me that her tenet has a friend who rents an apartment. The friend asked his landlord if he could have a dog. The landlord said ‘sureâ€â†žÂ¢ so her friend went out to a breeder’s and bought a baby female Rottie. When the landlord found out the renter had bought a Rottweiler he told the renter he didn’t know he was talking about getting a Rottweiler. The landlord got upset and told the renter to “get rid of itâ€?. So my client’s tenet ended up with the baby Rottie until they could find someone who would be willing to just take the Rottie. I asked my client if I could see the baby Rottie. So we drove to her tenets home at 9:00 pm. When we first got there we couldn’t find the baby Rottie. Her tenet was gone and the baby Rottie wasn’t in the house. After a while my client found the baby Rottie outside, with no food, or water, tided up, in the dark, in the middle of a tiny yard right next to the woods where a wild animal could have eaten her!! I unchained the baby Rottie and checked her over. I gave her a temperament testing and checked her for good health. The baby Rottie passed the temperament testing and I could see that she was dehydrated and underweight, but other than that I could see that she was in fairly good health, so I took her home with me. That was two weeks ago. When I got her home and checked her out even better, I could see many of her ribs and I could see her hipbones sticking up through her fur. I weighted her and found she was 12 pounds and VERY dehydrated. I started hydrating her and I put her on a high protein diet. After one week China weighted 16 pounds, and now at 9 weeks she weights 20 pounds. I named her ‘Chinaâ€â⠀žÂ¢ because I feel that is a strong, but beautiful name. China is very healthy, smart and happy now. She is now filling out and is a head of schedule with her growth, so she may grow up to be larger then my 120-pound neutered male Rottweiler. I’m just happy that China is in a home that knows every young needs healthy food several times a day, water all the time, a fenced in yard to run and play in, and a carte in the house when you have to leave home. You would think these things would be common since, but I guess not for everyone.
