Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog-dog rescue

Likes:
Playing with my parent's Golden Dante & jumping right over him, trying to be a lap dog, licking out bowls or pots.

Pet-Peeves:
Hot air balloons, thunderstorms. Although we were told that Chai likes swimming & baths, he will *tolerate* a bath, warm water only mind you, & he won't swim . He thinks that he will melt in the heavy rain - you cannot get him to budge!

Favorite Toy:
Kong, Kong and more Kongs! any type of ball, rope toy, flashlights

Favorite Food:
His new raw diet which he started on the night he came home. He also loves popcorn, asparagus, beet pulp, hay cubes...

Favorite Walk:
Racing around our farm, Snyder's Flats in Bloomingdale where we're trying to get him to swim (update Aug 2008 - he finally went swimming!)

Best Tricks:
Shake a paw when you say "hello", retrieving the right toy, speaking & growling, sit, down (& over), stay, wait, head down, behind, in front, heel, back up, jump, up, off, turn around.

Arrival Story:
We had been waiting for a rescue dobe for a long time as our 11 yr old GSD 'Bob' was starting to show his age. I was looking for a black female with cropped ears as 2 males together is not a good idea, but along came 10 month old Chai (originally named Boy! yuck!) on the dobe rescue site so we went to see him that day in the Mississauga animal shelter. He had been turned in along with his sister/littermate because his family was moving out of the country. We brought Bob along to meet him and unexpectedly came home with Chai that day. He is awesome and we love him, and I love his uncropped ears now too!

Bio:
'Chai' means tea in many languages (Hindi, Russian, Slovak and others) and is also a flavour of tea here. His information at the shelter said Chai knew basic commands but was stubborn - they were right, but now that he knows we mean what we say, he has started to listen very well after our first 3 wks together. He gets along great with all dogs, and is getting along with our 5 cats, but desperately wishes he could play with them -same with the horses! We are looking for any dobe buddies or other med/lrg dogs in the KW area that like to play and would like to go on off leash hikes every week (in Petersburg, 3 different great trails) . Please contact us.
