Ok, we had a pretty good weekend. Samoa is not fond of fireworks, but if Mama holds his paw he can manage. They used to bother me, but not so much anymore.
We had some company (it always happens because we live near the beach!) Mama would NEVER go to the beach on a summer weekend because it is "too @#$%^ crowded." That is what she says.
So the company went and we stayed home and grilled stuff. That is fun, and involves cleaning up a lot of singed hot dogs and stuff. Also small peeps tend to drop things and to be helpful, a dog should be handy to eat it, keeping the area clean.
I do this job. Dubs helps me, she is very fast and often grabs it before I can. But she usually doesn't eat it, just throws it around for a while and then gives it to me. Also she hates french fries. She was peeing on them until I told her to stop and let me eat them.
Samoa does not pick up food. His preferred method is to sit real close to someone and stare at them until they weaken and share their lunch. He is pretty successful. He has the shepherd "eye."
Another thing that I discovered it lots of fun is to follow the peeps around when they have the hose. They use it to fill up tubs of water, or to wash their hands or to water a plant. When they do this, I like to walk up and stick my head right in the way of the water. This is very refreshing and has the added bonus of causing a lovely backspray which also cools down the person with the hose. They make little shrieks of appreciation.
I love to be helpful!
Savannah!
