The four dogs sat around a table in the courtyard of a quiet house, eating from platters of cornbread and roasted chicken.
"Good dinner!" said Demon to the smiling yellow Lab who passed the platters.
"Dubs and I went to the market today! We thought you would like a big dinner after a hard case." said the Lab, Savannah.
"Dubs?" questioned Samoa.
"Oh, yes! I forgot to mention that part. Little Wild Dog has named herself - show them your poster dear."
Dubs - the Little Wild Dog - put down a crispy chicken drumstick and unrolled a tube of posterboard. It was a large color advertisement for a popular brand of biscuit mix.
"Dublin Rose Biscuit Mix?" asked Samoa.
"Well, yes...To the Dublin Rose part anyway. She wants to be called Dublin Rose - Dubs for short."
"That is a pretty name!" Said Candy who was pouring glasses of lemonade and slicing the dessert cake.
"Is that a lemon cake?" asked Kirby hopefully.
"Yes, it is - and we also have ice cream." replied Savannah.
"Ize Cweem!" hollered little Dubs, and brandished her cardboard baton.
"Finish your chicken dear, and then dessert!" reminded Savannah.
In the air above the courtyard, fireflies came out and fluttered around. It was a truly peaceful setting and the dogs who had been involved in the "case" appreciated it greatly after a harrowing evenings work.
Angel and Samoa moved away from the table to a bench near the central fountain and Samoa took out his harmonica and started playing some wistful tunes. They were broken in parts as the pair interrupted each other with kisses.
"Peaceful, aint it?" Asked Kirby, somewhat dispirited sounding. "Need some adventure, thats what!" he said.
"Be careful what you wish for!" scolded Candy and shook her apron at him.
Savannah passed the cake around and dishes of ice cream and they all listened to the harmonica music as the stars came out.
Demon leaned towards Savannah and took her paw. "I am not sure WHY I feel this way, but I have a suspicion that Kirby may get his wish soon enough." he whispered. "Odd things - well, more odd than usual - have started to happen."
"Can you tell me about it?" asked Savannah.
"Well, it is just a sort of a feeling but since we got into this supernatural business I find my feelings don't lead me astra TOO often." Demon replied.
"You always did have wonderful instincts, darling. Still - I might hope you were wrong this time..."

Waiting ......... 'cited !!
I'm excited to hear the rest of the story, but I hate to think of Samoa and Angel stopping their kissing to have an adventure. The kissing sounds so nice......
Oh I think there's a little dark magic going on.
Trouble is brewing in the Big Easy!!
