There is a certain small and narrow brick building between two heavily ornate structures dripping with wrought iron lacework. The little building has no ornaments, save for a small sign in the diamond paned window.
Sergeant Demon's Inspection Services
"Feel Safe in your own house! Sergeant Demon's Inspection Services provide first rate security advice as well as specialized, tested defenses against spells, curses and voodoo infestations. Second Floor, Rear."
At the designated office on the second floor, rear - two dogs sat. One - a husky - gazed out the window with his striking blue eyes. The other - a wistful looking shepherd mix was industriously grinding butterscotch hard candies with a mortar and pestle.
"I am not sure if the scotchies or the cherry sours have a better result. The zombies seem to prefer cherry sours, but it gets them unruly and riled up. The butterscotchies have a more soothing effect."
He paused and licked some crumbs from his paw. "I know I prefer the scotchies" he finished.
"Perhaps a blend of the two?" asked the blue eyed husky.
"Urg!" replied his partner "Still - no telling WHAT those demons might like! Begging your pardon and no offense intended, Sarge."
"None taken, Samoa and if I might lend a paw with the mortar and pestle, please let me know." replied Sergeant Demon, late of his Majesties North American Service.
"How is the supply of rum and gunpowder? I have almost enough of this candy prepared." said Samoa.
"Kirby and Goliath offered to stop round the pub for some rum. And we should have enough gunpowder on hand." Said Demon.
"Hope they don't drink the rum, and I am just going to double check on the powder. Nasty bunch we are taking on tonight, by all reports!" replied Samoa and went to a cabinet near the doorway.
"Looks well enough supplied." Samoa stated and just then, footsteps sounded on the stairs. "Must be Kirby and Goliath now!"
"Good!" said Demon "We will have time for a conference about this case."
"I'll fix us some coffee." said Samoa and busied himself as Demon pulled up some extra chairs and Kirby and Goliath entered the room.
"Glad you are here, lads" said Demon. "We may need your extra wits and muscle with us tonight!"
continued tomorrow: all in a night's work!

Havoc is afoot I'll warrant !!
Waits with Flicka !
I think I would prefer butterscotch myself. Perhaps the zombies would like something a dog doesn't like--like maybe cabbage? I hate the idea of feeding delicous stuff to zombies.
