Relic reveals Noah's ark was circular

Night shifts....our mum is on night shifts!!!! You either love them or hate them...us we love them...mum gets home about 6ish has a short sleep and then we get her for the rest of the day...till tonight and then she off out again!!!

Anyway, while she was working she had the radio on and she heard a snippit on it that might be of interest to all the religious people out here:)...heres the story...........

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/jan/01 /noahs-ark-was-circular

That they processed aboard the enormous floating wildlife collection two-by-two is well known. Less familiar, however, is the possibility that the animals Noah shepherded on to his ark then went round and round inside.

According to newly translated instructions inscribed in ancient Babylonian on a clay tablet telling the story of the ark, the vessel that saved one virtuous man, his family and the animals from god's watery wrath was not the pointy-prowed craft of popular imagination but rather a giant circular reed raft.

The now battered tablet, aged about 3,700 years, was found somewhere in the Middle East by Leonard Simmons, a largely self-educated Londoner who indulged his passion for history while serving in the RAF from 1945 to 1948.

The relic was passed to his son Douglas, who took it to one of the few people in the world who could read it as easily as the back of a cornflakes box; he gave it to Irving Finkel, a British Museum expert, who translated its 60 lines of neat cuneiform script.

There are dozens of ancient tablets that have been found which describe the flood story but Finkel says this one is the first to describe the vessel's shape.

"In all the images ever made people assumed the ark was, in effect, an ocean-going boat, with a pointed stem and stern for riding the waves – so that is how they portrayed it," said Finkel. "But the ark didn't have to go anywhere, it just had to float, and the instructions are for a type of craft which they knew very well. It's still sometimes used in Iran and Iraq today, a type of round coracle which they would have known exactly how to use to transport animals across a river or floods."

Finkel's research throws light on the familiar Mesopotamian story, which became the account in Genesis, in the Old Testament, of Noah and the ark that saved his menagerie from the waters which drowned every other living thing on earth.

In his translation, the god who has decided to spare one just man speaks to Atram-Hasis, a Sumerian king who lived before the flood and who is the Noah figure in earlier versions of the ark story. "Wall, wall! Reed wall, reed wall! Atram-Hasis, pay heed to my advice, that you may live forever! Destroy your house, build a boat; despise possessions And save life! Draw out the boat that you will built with a circular design; Let its length and breadth be the same."

The tablet goes on to command the use of plaited palm fibre, waterproofed with bitumen, before the construction of cabins for the people and wild animals.

It ends with the dramatic command of Atram-Hasis to the unfortunate boat builder whom he leaves behind to meet his fate, about sealing up the door once everyone else is safely inside: "When I shall have gone into the boat, Caulk the frame of the door!"

Fortunes were spent in the 19th century by biblical archaeology enthusiasts in hunts for evidence of Noah's flood. The Mesopotamian flood myth was incorporated into the great poetic epic Gilgamesh, and Finkel, curator of the recent British Museum exhibition on ancient Babylon, believes that it was during the Babylonian captivity that the exiled Jews learned the story, brought it home with them, and incorporated it into the Old Testament.

Despite its unique status, Simmons' tablet – which has been dated to around 1,700 BC and is only a few centuries younger than the oldest known account – was very nearly overlooked.

"When my dad eventually came home, he shipped a whole tea chest of this kind of stuff home – seals, tablets, bits of pottery," said Douglas. "He would have picked them up in bazaars, or when people knew he was interested in this sort of thing, they would have brought them to him and earned a few bob."

Simmons senior became a scenery worker at the BBC, but kept up his love of history, and was very disappointed when academics dismissed treasures of his as commonplace and worthless. His son took the tablet to a British Museum open day, where Finkel "took one look at it and nearly fell off his chair" with excitement.

"It is the most extraordinary thing," Simmons said of the tablet. "You hold it in your hand, and you instantly get a feeling that you are directly connected to a very ancient past – and it gives you a shiver down your spine."

he human fascination with the flood and the whereabouts of the ark shows few signs of subsiding.

The story has travelled down the centuries from the ancient Babylonians and continues to fascinate in the 21st century.

Countless expeditions have travelled to Mount Ararat in Turkey, where Noah's ark is said to have come to rest, but scientific proof of its existence has yet to be found.

Recent efforts to find it have been led by creationists, who are keen to exhibit it as evidence of the literal truth of the Bible.

"If the flood of Noah indeed wiped out the entire human race and its civilization, as the Bible teaches, then the ark constitutes the one remaining major link to the pre-flood world," says John D Morris of the Institute for Creation Research.

"No significant artefact could ever be of greater antiquity or importance."

In the Victorian era some became obsessed with the ark story. George Smith – the lowly British museum assistant who, in 1872, deciphered the Flood Tablet which is inscribed with the Assyrian version of the Noah's ark tale – could apparently not contain his excitement at his discovery.

According to the museum's archives: "He jumped up and rushed about the room in a great state of excitement and to the astonishment of those present began to undress himself."

With a difference.

Instead of answering questions all you have to do in this tag game is to spread a little love around dogster and send some mistletoe kisses to other dogsters.

Give a heart rosette to another dogster be it your girlfriend/ boyfriend or someone you might have a crush on:)

We thought we'd spread a lil tzu love ourselves and as we have started this game the tzus are separately choosing five other dogsters each that (paws crossed) can play this game.

Have fun dogsters:)

A team of award-winning police dogs and their handlers are marching through Wiltshire and Oxfordshire to raise money for two charities.

Eight dogs and handlers from the RAF Police dog section are travelling in full kit from RAF Brize Norton to RAF Lyneham via Wootton Bassett.

The team is raising money for the Help For Heroes and DebRA charities, before it is deployed to Afghanistan.

DebRA helps fund research into skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa.

The dog section became involved with the charity after a team member's young daughter died of the disease, which causes extreme blistering.

The 35-mile walk will end with a charity auction at RAF Lyneham.

I am heartbroken!!!

My first true beau....my lil poppet...my lil dahling...has passed away sniff!!!

All these years I have been holding out for him and hes died..

Paul O'Grady was last night in mourning for his beloved dog Buster which has died of cancer.

The dog, a big part of his Channel 4 chat show, was put down by vets after being diagnosed with the disease and appearing to be in considerable pain.

A spokesman for Paul last night said the TV star was "absolutely gutted".

Until recently Paul had sat alongside the 14-yearold shih tzu-bichon frise cross on the show.

But he has not featured as much on the current series due to his age.

On Channel 4's website there is a page devoted to Buster which states: "Having grown up on the Big Breakfast Show and Lily Live, he's happiest on television.

"The only downside to being on the show is all the baths he's made to have, as he's happiest rolling around in the dirt on Paul's farm."

Important Information for Our Customers
The health and well-being of your pet(s) is always our top priority at PETCO, so we are writing today to make sure you are aware that, on November 6, 2009 we pulled five products containing cow hooves treats carried under the PETCO brand following a health alert issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The alert warns consumers not to use pig ears and beef hooves pet treats manufactured by Pet Carousel due to possible Salmonella contamination.

According to the FDA statement, no illnesses associated with these products have been reported, but consumers in possession of these products are advised not to handle them or feed them to their pets. Upon learning of the alert, we immediately removed all affected products from our shelves, but we also know some of the affected product was sold prior to the recall date.

Based on our records, you may have purchased some of the affected product over the last six months.

Below is a list of the five product SKUs we removed from shelves:
49743 – PETCO 1 oz. BULK CHOO HOOVES
69957 – PETCO 1LB NATURAL 10 pack CHOO HOOVES
447064 – PETCO 1LB SMOKED 10 pack CHOO HOOVES
706655 – PETCO 2 oz. STUFFED CHOO HOOVES
706671 – PETCO 2 oz. PBUTTER STFFED CHOO HOOVES
If you believe you are in possession of any of the affected products, we advise you not to handle or feed them to your pets and welcome you to bring them back to your local PETCO store for a full refund or exchange.

We've canceled any further deliveries or shipments of the recalled products to our stores and blocked the sales of all five SKUs at cash registers in all stores and online at PETCO.com.

While Pet Carousel does manufacture beef hooves for PETCO, it does NOT supply our company with pig ear treats, so if you've purchased pig ear treats at PETCO, they are not affected by this recall.

We also carry an 8-piece variety pack of treats that includes one cow hoof that is produced by another manufacturer and is NOT affected by this recall. That unaffected SKU is:
1229397 – PETCO 10.9 OZ 8 piece VALUE PACK
If you have any questions about this recall, please visit our blog at www.petcoscoop.com.

England is having torrential weather at the moment. We have just heard we have had 29 mm of rain fall just today!!! When we was walking down the hill (heart attack hill to our regulars:)) the drains havent been cleaned of the leaves etc and so they are clogged up and it looked like a lil mini lake with the rain water giving us a race down the road!!! We had to walk in the middle of our road (we dont have footpaths here thats for posh people:)))).

But what we are not looking forward to is tonight we are going to be getting 80 pmh winds and knowing we live at the top of a hill we're hoping its not going to be much worse.

Keep your paws cross for us. Last nights winds was battering our greenhouse (no damage paws cross) and our back entrance gate (Its gone a lil bit wonky now hehehe).

So any british pups you know keep them in your thoughts....our weather is going to get worse before it gets better. The good news is next week we should be getting back to normal weather worse and having relatively cold but windfree days:)

HUgs to everyone for reading this X

Its nearly upon us again pups!

And if your area is like ours you will have been hearing a LOT of banging, whizzing and other weird strange noises.

Luckily, paws crossed we all like fireworks. But I remember when I first moved in with mum and dad and I had a huge older sister called Megan who was a old english sheepdog (the dulux dog ~ but she didnt do any painting). She was scared of fireworks for her whole entire life. She was a complete high maintainance dogs. She was allergic to certain foods, skin allergies and was very highly strung. Anything could start her off and fireworks (and wind) was her bug bares. She would cower in the corner/ Howl, pace and even *scream* because of the fireworks. Mum and dad done the remedy rescues things, got a trainer in and even played soothing music but alas to no avail. She was a dog that wasnt going to change.

Hence why they went over board with desensitising us and got all of us when we was pups (Megan was a older puppy when she come to the house). Took us out playing in the garden in the dark (we had a few outside lights on, feeding us outside and doing other things outside so we in the end took no notice of the bangs, whizzes and lights.

For us, the 5th november celebrations have been going on now for about a week (some people dont realise 5th nov doesnt start in october doh!). But we have come across some interesting things that might be of interest for people to read....

Flippys thought...Remember to be safe this Guy Fawkes night. Dont run away from your mums and dads. Being with your peeps is the SAFEST place for you to be. They wont put you in danger and will be most concerned if you take flight and run away.

As wattons said...

Keep all dogs and cats (and other small animals) indoors.

Make sure they are wearing collars with ID, even indoors - just in case they escape.

Close all windows and doors and lock catflaps to prevent frightened pets escaping.

Draw the curtains to muffle bangs and hide flashes.

Have the TV or radio on at a normal volume level.

Stay calm and act normally. Dogs are very good at reading your emotions. It is better to ignore their fear, as trying to reassure them will only confirm to them that there is something to be afraid of.

Rescue Remedy, from the Bach Flower Remedies range has a calming effect on many dogs - a couple of drops on the tongue is usually enough. Available from many chemists.

......and be safe!

Hugs to y'all tzu kisses and bush baby eyes X

Be an angel day!

Taken from www.holidayinsights.com

Be an Angel Day

When : Always August 22

Be an Angel Day encourages us to do acts of kindness, and to help others.

This special day has strong religious roots. Jayne Howard Feldman, the creator of this day, says she was inspired by angels to create this day on August 22.

The objective of this day is to be like an angel, and do something good or kind for someone. It encourages us to be God's servant in doing good things for others. It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.

Tzus thought: we'll be celebrating today!

After we had discussed Quinns entry we come across this story of a Irish pensioner who has been saved by a German Shepherd......Just goes to prove...dogs are the best:)

A police dog has been hailed as a hero after finding a County Fermanagh pensioner who had been missing for several hours.

Tach, a German Shepherd, tracked down the 80-year-old man who had fallen in fields near his Newtownbutler home.

The man, who has Alzheimer's disease, was suffering from mild hypothermia when he was found at about midnight last Friday.

Chief Inspector Graham Dodds said the dog had saved the pensioner's life.

The police helicopter and officers had been looking without success for this man," he said.

"He was located in a ditch covered by brambles so couldn't be seen.

"If Tash hadn't found this poor gentleman, I believe he would be dead."

Yappy left handed day!

Well, today has started off brilliantly! We had a walk already even though it is rainy cats and more cats! We had this idea of going out to our local park and catching the early morning bunnies and squirrels! But what we didnt realise that it was going to rain sooooo much! We got soaked....we had such a bark though it was so funny seeing Alfie running along with his lil tail down and Winnie running after him trying to catch his tail!

But we wanted to wish all the dogsterians a yappy left handers day! We are ambidextrous ~ we can do a lot with our paws! and our humum is ambidextrous as well. But our dad isint ~ men just cant do the things that women can do:)

Heres a few facts about left handers.........

Left Handed Facts and Trivia:

* Sinistrophobia is the fear of left-handedness or things on the left side.
* While many people are left handed, very few are 100% left handed. For example, many Left handers golf and bat right handed. On the other hand, there is a high percentage of righties who are 100% right-handed.
* Lefties are also called "southpaws". The term was coined in baseball to describe a left handed pitcher.
* Tuesdays are Lefties luck day.
* Only about 10% of the population is left handed.
* During the 1600's people, thought left handers were witches and warlocks.
* International Left Hander's Day was first celebrated on August 13, 1976. It was started by Lefthander's International.
* They say everyone was born right handed, and only the greatest overcome it. (he,he,he)
* It is believed that all polar bears are left handed. Also see Polar Bear Day.
* There is a rumor that octopuses have but one right hand. Scientists are diligently studying this issue.

Pets, fashion accessories or weapons?

March 8th 2009 3:01 am

We was doing our usual rounds of the dogrelated news when we come across this interesting topic....

Whether it was the Rubix Cube, Pokemon, or Twitter we’ve nearly all succumbed to a social trend at one point in our lives. However one of the more recent fashion accessories in the UK is different; it can kill.

Over the past four years the amount of ‘hard looking’ dogs on inner-city streets has nearly doubled. Scores of youths are taking their canines to the kerbs in order to protect themselves as well as to intimidate and harm others.

As a result of this the number of people treated for dog bites at hospitals in England alone has risen sharply. NHS statistics show the number attending A&E after a dog attack has risen by more than 40% in the last four years to nearly 3,800 a year.

It is not just people who are suffering; the dogs are often victims in this trend. A third of all unwanted dogs taken in by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home last year were pure or part-bred Staffordshire Bull Terrier (2,677), an increase of 23% on the previous year.
David Grant, Director of the RSPCA’s Harmsworth Animal Hospital, said his staff are treating bull-terrier type dogs practically every day with bite wounds, stabbings, injuries from traffic accidents and congenital diseases caused by indiscriminate breeding.

“In my experience, when an animal becomes a status symbol, cruelty is not very far behind,” said Mr Grant. “Unfortunately a lot of people are buying these dogs without knowing how to look after them. On one hand this can lead to a lack of training and dogs running wild, which can cause accidents, and on the other it can mean cruelty and aggression.”

It is the people at the end of these leads that Ali Taylor, head of animal welfare and training at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, says are ruining the public’s perception of dogs such as the Staffie.

“They are turning man’s best friend into the enemy,” she told us. “People know that if they get caught with a gun or a knife on the street they can be sent to prison and so they go out and get themselves a dog instead, which can be just as dangerous if they are trained to that degree. This isn’t a new problem, it’s been going on for about four years and certain dogs have now become associated with the gang image, which is putting good owners off keeping dogs like Staffies.”

Different situations and events can provoke attacks from dogs, for example, if a dog is kept cooped up or chained in one place for a long period, in hot weather, where there is excessive noise, or a change of home and owner, pack instinct could take over if two or more dogs are together. Also if a dog has not been socialised early in its life, being introduced to children and other dogs could be a traumatic experience and the animal could respond to them as a threat later on.

Many point the finger at films such as ‘Snatch’ and ‘Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels’ for glamorising the ownership of dangerous dogs.

“It’s the same with Chihuahuas,” says Taylor. “Since celebrities have started carrying them around in their handbags they’ve become much more popular. Likewise when ‘101 Dalmatians’ came out. Dogs, like everything else, become part of fashion. The only difference in the case of Staffies is that they’re considered dangerous too.”

It is clear that if the situation is going to change, first the legislation surrounding dangerous dogs must change. The RSPCA says the dangerous dogs act is flawed, that the focus is wrong and that the emphasis should be shifted from the dog to the owner. “Irresponsible owners can own dogs of any breed or type, and no dog should be penalised because of its genetic make up.”

At the end of 2008 the Netherlands lifted its ban on Pit Bulls, which was imposed roughly the same time as Britain's. The Dutch government will now concentrate on educating owners, not eradicating dogs. Should Britain do the same and can we trust owners to act responsibly?

-------------------------------------------- --------------------------------

UK LEGISLATION

The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 is the most prominent of the various laws that cover dog ownership in the UK. The act bans the breeding and sale or exchange of four kinds of dog:

Pit Bull Terriers
Japanese Tosas
Dogo Argentinos
Fila Brasileiros

Any other dogs “appearing... to be bred for fighting or to have the characteristics of a type bred for that purpose” are also banned. Under the act, a dog classed as being "dangerously out of control in a public place" can be destroyed. The owner can be fined and imprisoned for up to six months.

A dog that was given just days to live after suffering appalling neglect is now thriving in a new home.

This time last year, 12-year-old German Shepherd Hobo weighed just 40lb, was covered in mange and thought unlikely to survive.

But he was brought back from the brink of death and is now in a new home with animal-lover owners Peter and Val Butcher.

Hobo was taken into the PDSA Pet Aid Hospital in Northampton in a terrible condition in July last year. Vets initially wanted to put him down straight away, but gave him three days to see if he improved.

Hobo was suffering from mange and malnutrition and his claws were so long he could not walk. He was in such bad condition, vets could only guess what breed he was.

Hobo was treated at the hospital for several weeks, until he came to the attention of the Butchers on the local news. German Shepherd-lover Mrs Butcher said: "I cried, his condition was so awful. For days I could only think of him. We both wanted him and knew we would have the time, patience and love to help him recover."

They adopted Hobo in August, and his new home on the couple's pleasure farm in Shillington, Bedfordshire, has seen him move in with an array of other animals including 10 dogs, 10 alpacas, seven goats, 17 ponies, and 240 parrots. He has been on courses of antibiotics, skin treatments and painkillers and is now up to his maximum weight of 66lbs.

Mr Butcher said Hobo still took medication for pain caused by arthritis and antibiotics for his skin but has made "wonderful" progress.

She said: "Hobo enjoys life. He is so bright, he loves to help us and he loves to play. Hobo is a special dog who has gone through hell but still loves and trusts people. We love him to bits and know without a doubt that we are so lucky to have him."

The couple have even funded a prosecution of Hobo's former owner who has pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a dog. Joy Battison, of Orchard Hill, Little Billing, Northants, is due to be sentenced in January at Northampton Magistrates Court.

This news story was taken from yahoo news.

But as I am a nosey lil gurl I found pictures of him (when he was first taken in/ a few months later/ and how he looks now). and boy for a German Shepherd he looks GORGEOUS!!!!

The last pictures was taken on the 8th October 2008 (its a english website so its day/ month/ year).

Heres the link to the rescue site.

Deaf dog learns sign language

A DEAF Dalmatian has been taught sign language by RSPCA staff.
They were worried that 18-month-old Zoe would be overlooked by prospective adopters.

So they trained her using gestures rather than verbal commands.

Zoe soon learned signals telling her to sit, lie down, stay and paw.

But her favourite is the thumbs up sign — meaning “good girl”.

Gill Hodge, of Little Valley Animal Shelter, in Exeter, Devon, said: “Staff started encouraging Zoe to look at their faces and keep her interest through eye contact and by giving her treats.

“Then they could teach her basic sign language.”

This reminds us tzus of our aunts dogs Bertie whos deaf but knows sign language.

We saw this interesting clippit of news and thought we'd share it with you guys:)

The BBC will not televise Crufts next year following a dispute over the inclusion of certain breeds of pedigree dog in the competition, the Kennel Club said.

The organiser said it would not be able to work with the broadcaster because of "insupportable conditions" insisted on by the BBC to exclude certain breeds of dog from the show.

The dispute comes in the wake of a BBC documentary which claimed the breeding process used to produce pedigree dogs had resulted in a high incidence of inherited genetic disease.

But the Kennel Club said the demands by the BBC did not take into account measures it had put in place to improve the health of pedigree dogs.

The organisers also said judges would be trained to help ensure all dogs being awarded prizes are healthy representatives of their breed.

The Kennel Club said Crufts 2009, which will take place in March, would set the standard for future dog shows and the club would be running a comprehensive education programme to ensure only the healthiest dogs were rewarded in the show ring.

Kennel Club chairman Ronnie Irving said he was very sorry that BBC audiences in the UK and around the world would not be able to see the remarkable diversity of dogs and activities on show at Crufts.

"However, we have been forced to reject the insupportable conditions imposed by the BBC, who have told us they will only televise the show in 2009 if certain breeds are excluded from participating.

"We are unable to agree to these demands, as it would compromise both contractual obligations and our general responsibility to dog exhibitors and our audience and we believe it would be inappropriate and counterproductive to exclude any recognised breed from Crufts.

"We are obviously disappointed and confused with this outcome as we hoped the broadcast would have supported our focus on health and welfare issues, given advice about caring for and training dogs and showcased the charitable work that we support."

Well, with the bits and bobs that she has bought from Claires (its a accessory shop that has hairbands etc) she is gonna dress me up as Santa again with girlie bits and bobs!!! They are not gonna be pink either (my favourite colour!) but red (gggrrr!).

But what has made this day even worse is that we have had rain ALL day! And now we have got FOG! So we had one walk earlier but not gonna get another sniff*!

As a result of the tremendous support we've received from supporters all across the UK, we had a record breaking year. The 2007 Appeal raised over £37 million which is already starting to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.

Also, two schools in Hertfordshire have been finding out more about the projects we have funded this year. Both schools are part of BBC's School Report and on finding out that £20 million had been distributed to projects from our first grant round in March 2008, five pupils from Bishop Hatfield's Girls School visited Woodfield After School Club- a project helping students with severe learning difficulties in Hemel Hempstead. Also, to find out more about the charity and the role of the charity's Chief Executive Officer, eight pupils from Simon Balle School in Hertford emailed our very own David Ramsden with some very interesting questions. Listen to the student's report on Woodfield and read the interview with David on the School Report website.

Please take a look at our latest annual report to see how you helped to make a difference to the lives of children and young people in 06/07.

Bonfire nite Part 2

OOOOH! Bang! Whizzzzz! Aaah! Bang! Yelp! Can you tell what it is yet? It's the annual Bonfire Night bash, complete with dazzling fireworks and terrified pets scurrying for cover. Or did the yelp come from a hedgehog trapped in the bonfire? Do hedgehogs yelp?
You might have thought that November 5 was a good excuse to wrap up warm, wave some sparklers around and enjoy yourself, but oh how wrong you'd be. From animal-rights concerns to air-pollution issues, not even Guy Fawkes Night escapes the eagle eye

I love fireworks – Catherine wheels, fountains, rockets, bangers, the lot. Except sparklers. I've never touched one and never will, thanks to that old TV advert where a little bare hand reaches for the hot end of the sparkler. It wasn't quite as harrowing as the ad with the boy who climbs into an electricity substation to retrieve his Frisbee, but it got the message across.

Despite this morbid fear of sparklers, I found myself eyeing up some firework kits in a magazine. The Grand Finale pack promised three minutes of eye-popping colour for £64.99. "Ooooh," I thought. "We could have a bonfire in the back garden, and let off a few fireworks and do baked potatoes – that would be lovely."

This was despite last year's local fireworks extravaganza, where men, women, children and hedgehogs fled in terror as a volley of rogue rockets rained down from the sky.

And what about the environmental dangers? Researchers at the University of Lancaster found that Bonfire Night contributes up to 14% of the dioxins (pollutants linked to cancer) present in the atmosphere – estimated to be the same amount of dioxins as British Steel produces in a year.

While bonfires are mostly to blame for the dioxins, those fireworks are hardly guilt-free. When they go pop, CO2, other gases and chemical residues are given off. Gunpowder is a common component, leading to the emission of sulphur compounds, while metal oxides and particulate matter (small particles that can irritate the eyes, nose and throat or even penetrate the lung tissue, causing problems for asthmatics) are also blasted into the atmosphere.

But this isn't quite enough to put me off the annual spectacle. And this devil-may-care attitude is backed by a study of fireworks by Dr Robertus Vichmann, of Braunschweig Technical University, which concludes, "They didn't give off very

much dioxins, so it's not dangerous to man and also not dangerous to environment…

So you can have your fun with it." Was it

just me who read that in a halting German accent?

But not everyone likes fireworks. The Ban the Bang campaign (www. looking-glass.co.uk/banthebang) objects on the grounds of distress caused to pets and wild animals, a valid point that brings to mind a firework I'd seen advertised, called the Screecher, which promises "ear-piercing, squawking shrieks". Then there's the oft-ignored littering aspect: earlier this year, Terry McDonald's bid for a record-breaking firework launch was halted when Jersey's environment department warned him that he could be prosecuted for any damage. "All fireworks contain a cocktail of potentially harmful chemicals," he was told. "In addition, the litter caused by the 111,000 spent rockets could seriously affect the amenity of the beach if not removed." Quite.

Meanwhile, eco-minded scientists at the University of Munich have been working on creating non-polluting, smoke-free fireworks, but you'll be hard-pressed to find these in the shops.

I've lost the urge to host my own garden fireworks display, but I know I'll be watching the pyrotechnic pandemonium of the local 'organised' event. It's a black mark on the eco score chart, but I can't resist the snap, crackle and pop spectacular.

Flippys thought......We're gonna be watching it at a show well it happens in a field in front of our house and we're gonna be outside...we LOVE fireworks!!!

X Factor charity single Hero goes to No. 1

November 3rd 2008 7:14 am

The tables turned for finalists of the talent show X Factor yesterday when their charity single knocked judge Sheryl Cole’s group Girls Aloud off the top of the charts.

The cover of Mariah Carey’s song Hero, performed by the 12 acts from this year’s live shows, has stormed to number one and become the fastest selling charity single of the decade.

Hero sold 313,244 copies in its first week, outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined. It also became the fastest-selling single of the year.

All proceeds from the record will go to Help The Heroes – a charity that supports wounded servicemen and women - and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

However, not all of those who contributed to Hero were celebrating yesterday. Austin Drage, 22, became the latest contestant to be voted off the show on Saturday night for his performance of Rolls Royce’s hit Wishing on a Star.

Viewers watching Saturday night’s show also learnt that X Factor host Holly Willoughby is pregnant with her first child. She announced the news live on air.

Meanwhile judge Simon Cowell also made the news this weekend, as speculation continued that his relationship with long-term girlfriend Terri Seymour come to an end.

Responding the the news of Hero's success, Cowell said yesterday: “It’s a really important cause, we are all honoured to be a part of it and most importantly, this is going to raise money for a group of people who really need help and support."

The single also earned the support of chancellor Alistair Darling, who will waive VAT on sales, and a public thumbs up from prime minister Gordon Brown at a press conference last week. HMV, Woolworths and Tesco are also donating profits on sales of the single to Help The Heroes and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The 12 acts performing on Hero are Austin Drage, Eoghan Quigg and Scott Bruton (in the 14 – 24 boys group); Laura White, Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke (in the 14 – 24 girls group); Daniel Evans, Rachel Hylton, Ruth Lorenzo (over 25s) and groups Bad Lashes, Girlband and JLS.

The only good thing that come out of it is that mum has got her sniffles back again (ehehehe for the last two weeks she has had the flu ~ achy legs/ hot flushes etc etc) and hopefully she might have it again so we can relax on our walks and have a good olde sniff around instead of going at the youngsters pace :-)

Mum is a week into having a cold (just mild sniffles and boy is she playing on it) that we have been limited to ONE walk a day!

GGGGrrrrrrrr!

Hows a gurl supposed to keep in touch with the doggie telegraph when shes limited on her outings....

Am I going to have to resort to barking outside to keep in touch with my furiends in the village?

Earlier mum and dad was talking to the most HUGE black labrodor (and his personal slave!) and us tzus went running down to greet him and got told to go inside (we mightve been doing just a lil bit of barking....we might not of....hehehehe not gonna admit to anything:-).

And our village idiot (you always get one of those humans that not quite there dontcha!) and his dog Harley was barking away in his garden. He lives in the house on the over side of the horses field in front of our house. And I just thougt I would help him with his doggie telegraph (it was a great bit of gossip ~ very juicy) when dad told me to shut up......humans......when you bark they moan but they stroke you when you bark at other things....whats a gurl to do?

Does your dog have a accent?

October 1st 2008 11:34 am

The distinctive drawl of a Norfolk native is instantly recognisable, but did you know that the area’s frogs have accents too?

The pool frog, which croaks with a Norfolk accent, is thought to have existed in England for over 3,000 years and its bones have been found at Saxon archaeological sites in East Anglia.

The rare species was presumed extinct by the late 1990s, but conservationists have since re-established thriving populations and the pool frog has now been given special protection by the government.

But this unique creature isn’t the only one to have an accent – we take a look at just some of the other species who communicate with a regional twang.

A dog’s bark may sound just like any other to most of us, but research suggests that dogs develop a ‘voice’ that mimics their owner’s accent. A study asked owners to leave recorded phone messages of their voice as well as the sound of their pooch barking and growling.
Experts then analysed the results and found that there were differences right across the UK. For example, dogs in Liverpool communicate in a high pitch while Scottish dogs are more softly spoken.

So would you guys wanna hear my bark and my mums voice? If you look at the video inbetween the tzus birthday and the snowing one. You'll see me and if you play it you'll hear my mums voice talking to me and me yapping every so often:)

Tell me what you think do you think we have the southern belle accent or not? Or a true cockney or *OMDG* a ESSEX BURD accent:)

O and mum suffers with hay fever hence the slight nasel accent....summer dont you just LOVE it:)

If you wanna read more about the accented animals ie the cockney ducks etc...heres the link:)

Us tzus are heavily influenced by music we play it day and night in our house. Ranging from Classical, Rock, R n B, Soul, Reggae , Country and anything else we can get our paws onto.

But we couldnt let this day go by without wishing a certain blues singer a happy 65 birthday!

Maria Muldaur (born Maria Grazia Rosa Domenica D'Amato, 12 September 1943, in Greenwich Village, New York) is a roots-folk and blues singer best known for her song "Midnight at the Oasis".

Tomorrow though is a more special day for us....someone in our family is hitting a mile stone and maybe...just maybe we'll put up a picture of them......

can you guess who that person is?

September 11 Georgi Ivanov Markov

September 11th 2008 12:40 am

As Quinn has said us Tzus are all coming up with past stories about September 11.

Georgi Ivanov Markov (March 1, 1929 – September 11, 1978) was a Bulgarian dissident. Who died from ricin poisioning

Markov originally worked as a novelist and playwright, but in 1969, he defected from Bulgaria, then a communist state under the leadership of President Todor Zhivkov. After moving to the West, he worked as a broadcaster and journalist for the BBC World Service, the US-funded Radio Free Europe, and Germany's Deutsche Welle. He criticised the Bulgarian communist regime many times on radio. It is speculated that, as a result of this, the Bulgarian government decided to dispose of him—and asked the KGB for help.

Agents of the Bulgarian secret police, Darzhavna Sigurnost assisted by the KGB had previously made two failed attempts to kill Markov before a third attempt succeeded. On September 7, 1978 (the birthday of Todor Zhivkov), Markov walked across Waterloo Bridge spanning the River Thames (London England), and was waiting at a bus stop on the other side, when he was jabbed in the calf by a man holding an umbrella. The man apologized and walked away. Markov would later tell doctors that the man had spoken in a foreign accent. The event is recalled as the "Umbrella Murder" with the assassin claimed to be Francesco Gullino codenamed "Piccadilly". The latest research claims that Markov was actually shot with a pellet fired from an adapted pen; the umbrella was dropped nearby to distract him [1].

Markov recalled feeling a stinging pain from where he had been hit, he assumed by the umbrella tip. When he arrived at work at the BBC World Service offices he noticed a small red pimple had formed and the pain from being jabbed had not gone away. He told at least one of his colleagues at the BBC about this incident. That evening he developed a high fever and was admitted to a hospital where he died three days later, on 11 September 1978, at the age of 49. The cause of death was poisoning from the ricin-coated pellet.

LIVERPOOL: World Firefighter Games!

History of the Games
The World Firefighters Games was initiated by an American entrepreneur and a committee of international firefighters, whose coming together led to the 1st World Firefighters Games in Aukland NewZealand in 1990. This inaugral event was hailed as a great success placing the WFG firmly on the international map, attracting thousands of athletes and their families from all over the world.

The second WFG were held in Las Vegas in 1992 and thus the stage was set to host this event on a biennial basis. 1994 saw the ownership of the event passing to a committee of firefighters in Perth, Western Australia who hosted yet another fantastic WFG in this same year. The W. Australia WFG Governing Body have continued to drive forward this event which has seen the mantle of the games being hosted at the following international venues:

1996 – Edmonton, Canada
1998 – Durban, South Africa
2000 – Mantes, France
2002 – Christchurch, New Zealand
2004 – Sheffield, England
2006 – Hong Kong, China

The Liverpool World Firefighters Games 2008 will be staged from 25th August- 3rd September 2008. Liverpool is also set to be the European Capital of Culture in 2008, with WFG08 playing a major role in the Capital of Culture calendar. This will give WFG unprecedented access to brand new state of the art international sporting venues such as the Liverpool Echo Arena. The Games will feature 60 sporting events over a period of 10 days attracting in excess of 5000 competitors from all over the world. The Games include a variety of sports and whilst the emphasis is on participation, competition is fierce and the last time the Games were held in the UK (Sheffield) two British national records were broken.

The Games lasts for a period of seven to ten days and are self-financing with any surplus being reinvested in local charities.

A DOG'S PRAYER FOR HIS OWNER

O Lord of humans, make my master faithful to his fellow men as I am to him. Grant that he may be as devoted to his friends and family as I am to him.

May he be openfaced and undeceptive as I am; may he be true to trust reposed in him as I am to his.

Give him a face cheerful like unto my wagging tail. Give him a spirit of gratitude like unto my flicking tongue.

Fill him with patience like unto mine that awaits his footsteps uncomplainingly for hours. Fill him with my watchfulness, my courage, and my readiness to sacrifice comfort or life itself.

Keep him always young in heart and endowed with the spirit of play, as I am.

Make him as good a man as I am a dog. And make him worthy of me, his dog.

Amen.

Why own a dog? There's a danger you know,
You can't own just one, for the craving will grow.
There's no doubt they're addictive, wherein lies the danger.
While living with lots, you'll grow poorer and stranger.

One dog is no trouble, and two are so funny.
The third one is easy, the fourth one's a honey.
The fifth one's delightful, the sixth one's a breeze,
You find you can live with a houseful of ease.

So how 'bout another? Would you really dare?
They're really quite easy but, oh, Lord the hair!
With dogs on the sofa and dogs on the bed,
And crates in the kitchen, it's no bother, you've said.

They're really no trouble, their manners are great.
What's one more dog and just one more crate?
The sofa is hairy, the windows are crusty,
The floor is all footprints, the furniture dusty.

The housekeeping suffers, but what do you care?
Who minds a few noseprints and a little more hair?
So let's keep a puppy, you can always find room,
And a little more time for the dust cloth and broom.

There's hardly a limit to the dogs you can add,
The thought of a cutback sure makes you sad.
Each one is so special, so useful, so funny.
The vet and food bills grows larger, you owe BIG money.

Your folks never visit, few friends come to stay,
Except other "dog folks" who live the same way.
Your lawn has now died, and your shrubs are dead too,
But your weekends are busy, you're off with your crew.

There's dog food and vitamins, training and shots.
And entries and travel and motels which cost lots.
Is it worth it you wonder? Are you caught in a trap?
Then that favorite one comes and climbs in your lap.

His look says you're special and you know that you will
Keep all of the critters in spite of the bill.
Some just for showing and some just to breed.
And some just for loving, they all fill a need.

God, winter's a hassle, the dogs hate it too.
But they must have their walks though they're numb and your blue.
Late evening is awful, you scream and you shout
At the dogs on the sofa who refuse to go out.

The dogs and the dog shows, the travel, the thrills,
The work and the worry, the pressure, the bills.
The whole thing seems worth it, the dogs are your life.
They're charming and funny and offset the strife.

Your life-style has changed. Things won't be the same.
Yes, those dogs are addictive and so is the dog game.

friendship day 3rd August

Tomorrow is friendship day and we have taken this opportunity to send all our pup pals a lil rosette.

Spread the paws of friendship across the world pupsters!

When : the first Sunday of August

Friendship Day is a day to nurture relationships, new and old. It's a really easy and fun day to celebrate.

Start the day by getting in touch with some old friends. Start early. Chances are, they know it's Friendship Day. You want to beat them to the punch, and contact them first. Phone calls, emails, Ecards, are great tools. See if you can make plans for lunch today, or some other day (soon).

Then, catch up to some of your current pals and buddies. Make sure to do some interesting things with them before the day is through. As you go through the day, be ever vigilant to spot an opportunity to make a new friend. Finding new friends today, is a real feather in your cap.

One thing is for certain...... if you put your all into the spirit of Friendship Day, you will have a great, great day.

Happy Friendship Day to people all over the world!

6TH July national kissing day!!!

July 5th 2008 5:40 am

The Jewsbury tzus are celebrating national kissing day and hoping to spread some snogs your way! As all of us are footloose and fancy free (none of us are courting anyone) we thought we would spread this tradition to EVERYONE!

So if your one of the lucky ones to recieve our snogs (we're only allowed to give out five each) we would love it if you could spread the snogs to other dogsters....LETS HAVE A SNOG FEST!!!!

Happy kissing day everyone and remember to give your mum, dad and siblings a whole load of snogs!!!

To celebrate the 13th annual National Kissing Day, its founder Denplan commissioned the survey to ask people to name their top three favourite screen kisses. Second most popular rated kiss was the Disney classic Lady and the Tramp, where pampered pedigree pooch Lady shares a surprise spaghetti kiss with loveable rogue Tramp (36%). In third place was Swayze again, this time with Jennifer Grey in the 1987 blockbuster Dirty Dancing as they kiss in public for the first time (35%).

Swayze's still got it

Swayze was the clear favourite with the females surveyed, who voted Ghost (50%) and Dirty Dancing (43%) as their top two. The star of both blockbusters, who turns 56 this year, clearly remains a heartthrob for many.

Surprisingly more in touch with their feelings than previously given credit for, men voted for Ghost first (40%), Lady and the Tramp romped in second with 36% and one of the greatest romantic tragedies of recent time, Titanic, received 33% coming in third.

Oldie but not a goodie

Unexpectedly, classic films Gone with the Wind, From Here to Eternity and Breakfast at Tiffany's all ranked low in the voting at sixth, seventh and tenth places respectively.

However, these still remain the favourites of the over 65's, whose top three screen smooches were Lady and the Tramp (40%), Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler's tempestuous kiss in Gone with the Wind (36%), and Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr's classic beach clinch in From Here to Eternity (36%).

Creator of the first National Kissing Day back in 1995 and Denplan Managing Director, Stephen Gates, said: "We created National Kissing Day as a fun way to raise the profile of dentistry among consumers so that it had a connection with everyday life and not just six-month check-ups. While oral healthcare is a serious matter impacting general health, being sombre about it doesn't necessarily always get the message across. National Kissing Day is a great opportunity for people to kiss their loved ones and remember the importance of oral healthcare; we hope everyone will be doing that today."

We couldnt let this day past without having a news story about Canada and we come across this pawsome one.....

It seems the Canadians want the British to come over....well...why didnt they say sooner:-)

We'll get our passports and the like and be straight over!!!!

You got decaff nescafe coffee right?....and tripe treats...and paddy wack treats????

If so....get five lil beds ready....cos we're coming!!

Canada is trying to attract skilled British workers to emigrate to the country to boost the economy and population.
Officials hope that superior public services and a stable economy will tempt people who have lost patience with the soaring cost of living in Britain, and the state of hospitals and schools.

Hector Goudreau, Minister of Employment and Immigration in Alberta, has been sent across the Atlantic to encourage workers who fit skills and experience criteria to apply for a fast-tracked visa.

The scale of the project has been compared to the assisted passage scheme which saw over a million 'Ten Pound Poms' migrate to Australia after the Second World War. It will raise fears that Britain could be hit with a 'brain drain' if significant numbers take up the offer.

The Canadians are hoping to recruit GPs, teachers, nurses, electricians, carpenters, engineers, construction workers, management consultants, and cardiac and diabetic specialists, although anyone of any age can apply.

Mr Goudreau, who has been in Britain for a week, said: "Somebody from London might be able to sell their small flat and come to Alberta where they can buy a detached house with a huge back yard and huge front yard for the same amount.

"The cost of living is considerably less than in the UK. Our salaries are comparable or even higher, so anyone who moves over would be able to make money and set some aside."

Alberta, a landlocked province in western Canada, encompasses Calgary, one of Canada's major commerce centres, and the provincial capital Edmonton, the primary supply and service hub for Canada's oil sands.

Mr Goudreau added that the economy there was constantly growing, and has remained steady despite the global credit crisis.

He went on: "We are looking at attracting 50,000 foreign workers within the next year alone.

"There is beautiful scenery, the health care system is second to none in the world and our educational system is second to none in the world. We have some of the lowest business taxes, there is no province sales tax on goods."

Yeap, tis true one day this week we went out when it was running...and my lil tootsies got wet! Luckily all the other days have been glorious sun shiny thru not as warm as what I was hoping.

We have been on a different walk this week ~ and it was pawsome...

Usually we go down the country paths to the scummals and hit a nice big dirt track but this week mum has taken us on a more secluded walk that she used to do as a kid.

And boy is it knackering! Its down hill getting there ~ which means the uphill walk is horrendous phew!

But we are keeping our lil bums and thighs in tiptop condition for the sunbathing that we've been doing out in the sunshine ~ dontcha just lurve that sun!

We are huge fans of the long deceased Marilyn but we couldnt let this bark day pass without acknowledging a very beautiful blonde bombshell!

Mum has called me time and time again a lil blonde minx as I seem to get most of the boys around here in a tis waz ~ I walk past them with hairs and graces that for some reason get those lil furbabies wild!

At present I have got a placid and pretty handsome golden retriever attention ~ he has a hole in his fence and pokes his head out when I walk by.

We've done the eskimo kiss and the sniff but nothing else ~ I'm a gurl that likes to take her time in romances!!

But since my on/off relationship with the black labrador has ended (he passed away ) I have been fussy over the guys I have been meeting:-) So this golden boy has to take his time:-)

But I digress I wanna wish the beautiful goddess Marilyn a Yappy 82nd woof day! I hope shes having a wonderful time in the place she has finally decided to call home:-)

Wuv Ya Marilyn! :-)

Us Tzus are HUGE music lovers we love any music for country to irish to R n B to pop to anything.

Quinns favourite singers are Steve Earle, Sinatra, anything country or blues type but he does go out side the box and like our home grown music as well.

Mine is anything gurlie and Kylie is a def one for me ~ mum grow up liking kylie, madonna, bananarama, Mel and Kim, MJ (Michael Jackson) etc etc so she has passed on those genes to me.

Alfie is a house, indie, rock kinda pup.

Cinders is anything weird and wonderful ~ she loved that snuggle bunny song we had to fight her to get that one off of her site!

And winnie is reggae (old and new), rhytmn and blues.

But going back onto why I wanted to woof this entry...our beloved KYLIE is 40 today arooooooooooooooooooo. So a lot of her music is gonna be played in this house today ~ and us tzus will be dancing the day away:-)

Well, I am outraged!!!

Theres lil moi outside and mum is trying to coax ME to go out in the rain...cheeky so and so.....

So I nipped into the front garden when she opened the side gate and wouldnt go any further than the front garden so only Winnie and Quinn went out for the proper walk today.

But you know what the cheeky so and so did? She left me in the garden to take the others out on the walk....I had to sit in the porch waiting for them....I'm sooooooooooooooo not happy on this. Me being a prima donna I should be left indoors in the living room of course to lie on the sofa and dry off there...

Well she let me and the other two in and dried us all off (even had the gas radiator on even thru its in the 50s soooooooooooooo warm!) and then went and had a shower....no by your leave or anything....

Humans...cant live with them...cant live without them...

Well ya prob read the other diary entries of Cinders, Alfie and Quinn about the soccer, swimming and Cindy running away?

Well, my diary entry is about something completely different.

I've been sneezing a lil this week.

And I've been watching the TV and noticed that the pollen count is quite high.....

The oak trees are given out a lot of pollen and at the end of this month we are supposed to have grass pollen polluting our lil airways!

OMDG what is a girl to do?

I'm gonna be sneezing a lot this year as the pollen seems to be a lil high already this year!

Anyway, gonna go back to my bedding outside in a minute....

The bedding is outside in the morning sun and it feels soooooo warm out there already.. after the last few days of temps in the 80's...I cant wait to feel what its gonna be like today!

This is a fantastic weekend for the tzus!!! Our two favourite footie teams are playing MAJOR matches!!!

Barclays Premier League

Chelsea V Bolton 3pm GMT sunday.....

Avram Grant believes that whoever holds their nerve will be crowned Premier League champions on Sunday.

Chelsea trail Manchester United only on goal difference, with the Red Devils travelling to Wigan and Grant's men at home to Bolton, with both matches live on Sky Sports.

And the Israeli feels that whoever copes better with the pressure on what is bound to be a tension-filled afternoon will be holding the trophy aloft.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side are in pole position and will claim a 10th Premier League crown if they defeat the Latics, but Chelsea are waiting eagerly in the wings and are determined to pounce.

Mental strength

Grant told Sky Sports News: "Nobody expected it and nobody believed that it would come to this stage, we believed it all the time.

"When you come to the last month or two months it is mental strength, but you also have to show physical qualities.

"When you come to the last game, mental strength is very important.

"We have a game against Bolton, which is not an easy game and we need to win, I think it will be a very tough game.

"Of course we will look at the result from Wigan. We hope that everything will be OK.

"Wigan haven't lost at home since January, they played fantastically against us before. They know that they are under the spotlight all over the world and everyone is watching so I am sure they will do their best."

Respect

Both clubs are indulging in mind-games ahead of Sunday's end-of-season spectacular, and Grant could not resist a joke at the expense of Ferguson.

The Scot has expressed concerns that Bolton have been too relaxed after all-but securing their top-flight status last weekend, with Grant light-heartedly likening the United boss to a member of the Israeli special forces.

He joked: "I told everyone that Alex is from the Mossad, and nobody believed me. He knows everything!"

Grant added: "We know Alex, I like him, I respect him, but we know why he says these things sometimes.

"I don't think he knows what is happening at Bolton, unless he wants to be manager there."

Ricardo Carvalho remains a major doubt for Chelsea after injuring his back in the victory over Newcastle, and he is still to return to training after intensive treatment.

Grant admitted: "He didn't train today, but we will see tomorrow."

We're SUPPORTING both the reds for today EBBSFLEET UNITED and sending out good tzu thoughts for the BLUES tomorrow...GO CHELSEA!!!!

And dont forget the match on 21st May Chelsea V Man U!

YAY!!!!

The last couple of days we have finally had some sun (dolly gosh I thought we would have to wait until we moved abroad for that to happen!!!)

But as you can tell from the piccies that it hasnt dried out our boggy mud.....mum took a piccie of me going under the gate a couple of years ago (number four I think) and number five was taken a couple of days ago..and wow what a difference!!

It is so muddy on our walks that we have had our summer haircuts brought forward so we dont get as muddy ~ cos us tzus hate mud!

But did ya spot our Thames piccie? We live in a lil village near the river Thames (its only a smallish river hehehehe) and we thought we'd show ya what we see when we're out on our walk:-)

O and check out my video if you have the time....I'm doing what tzus do best....back chatting!!!! BOL!

Well, ya gotto put those humans in their places hehehehe

common shrews ~ a massive stick and lil olde me!

Well after the atrocious weather on thursday ~ friday was a god send day absolutely gorgeous!!! So mum took us again down the country road that leads to the 15 acre field that Quinn, Winnie and I get to run around and find all sorts of treasures:-)

While mum was talking to her field who owns the horses and chickens that Quinn loves to see and play with I was out on the search...for what.....all will be revealed...

I found loads and loads of dead common shrews!

I couldnt believe my eyes I barked and that got mum and her friends attention so they come over to see what I was barking at (I usually bark at major things ~ cos I cant be arsed to bark at nothing ~ takes up to much energy hehehe)

It seems that they have been poisoned *sniff* so luckily mums friend said they would clear them up (the field is adjacent to 2 massive houses and connects upto the local haulage firm (which we think mustve poisoned the shrews).

So we got home and had a check over and mum phoned up the vet and said we should be all OK....which is pawsome!

But after that mum thought she'd take us past the olde peoples houses today (saturday) and this is where I found thee most massive stick it was a bout a foot long and I was playing fetch with mum in front of their houses hehehehe

Luckily as it was 5ish in the morning no one was up and I could have a fantastic game of fetch while the others was chasing each other and using up so much energy its obscene!!! BOL!!

They are saying our weather should hit a high of 70 + today !!!! Yay!!!

So sunglasses....towel....suntan lotion.....book.....drink...I'm ready for a day of sunbathing :-)

Happy St Georges day dogsters!!!

The History

St. George is the patron saint of England. His emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England. It was adopted by Richard The Lion heart and brought to England in the 12th century. The king's soldiers wore it on their tunics to avoid confusion in battle.

St. George's Day is on April 23rd, so, in a sense, this is England's National Day.

Winston Churchill wrote:
"There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word,
which means more to me than any other.
That word is ENGLAND."

And what does the tzus do?

We go out for another blinkered walk!!!!

Tis wasnt bad weather on monday but we have noticed that it doesnt matter what type it is we are always out on walks!

Yesterday was sunny but only mid 50s temps.....way way to cold for a lil gurl like me! I prefer sunnier clims with the sun gently beating against my golden fur and the warmth making me snug and cosy just like being wrapped in a soft woollen blanket mmmmmmmmm snug as a bug in a rug!

And this morning the old gurl took us out on a another walk ~ and she wear gloves! ......did the tzus get lil booties or socks to wear ....nope.....but she did have our blankets on the radiater so when we come in they was gorgeously warm....mmmmmmm...bliss.

I just cant wait for summer...ooo anyone else know that thursday is spring equinox?

March Winds and...

Boy has it been windy!

We have supposedly been having winds upto 80 mph and I can honestly say our garden has taken a battering!

We live on top of a hill that when you look out of a window and to the left (ever so slightly) you can see the River Thames (very picturesque).

But our garden has become a battle zone!!!! We have had to help mum and dad put all the plants (which was in pots) back to where there should go. Also reinforce the fencing and also tidy up any debris etc.

So these last few days have been so hectic. Mum has also contracted a bug that she has given to dad so they are both feeling under the weather (darn that new job she started!!!!)

So we're waiting now for nanny to catch it (well they say it usually comes in threes!)

But I'm still feeling top o the morning though as in about 12 days (26th March) its my birthday!!! Arrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Happy Irish weekend everyone! and Remember green (like Kemie the frog) is lucky!!!

Mum has been singing that song I've got on my page a lot and I kinda like it ~ I sit there staring at her while she sings till she looks over at me and blushes sooo funny!!.

Oooooo...did you guys notice my stick that I got in my mouth? Flippy here bringing a woof and a wiggle your way!

Well Mum and Dad are doing last minute things to make sure our christmas runs smoothly. Dad forgot to get one of his grand kids (yeap he's that olde! hehehe) a chrissimiss presant and mum is making sure her family is all accounted for pressie wise. So unlike yesterday when Dad come out for a walk with all of us mum will be taking us out on her own (she thinks we're gonna be wearing tinsel around our necks oooooo ef!!!). So its us mum and nan in the house...we can so torment Nan if mum wasnt around! hehehe

I have just had part of my winter coat cut as I was becoming hot and bothered in the tzu house (the temp was a mild 72 in doors and my coat made me sluggish arrrghhhh). So now I can run around after the kids as easy as anything:-)

Us tzus thought we would write a personal diary entry to all our readers, young and old pups across the worldly paths. To the pups in Oz who have been gracing our TV scenes sending Xmas messages back home to their loved ones in temperatures reaching 35 celsius!

To our men and women over in Iraq and Afghan as well as on other projects that dont reach our attention we wish you the best christmas you can hope for.

To our countries Queen who has now become a member of youtube ~ well ma'am we would never have tzu believed it!

But last and not at all least we wish every member of dogster and their families the happiest, safest and most pleasureable christmas you guys could ever wish for. Take care guys and remember not to eat to much otherwise you'll be joining our mum and us on sparkpeople!.

OMDG I've been tagged by Dancing Coconut Kisses Aka Coco and I'm so doggy excited!!!☃

OMDG again I got tagged by Mollie Tzu and Gracie Marie thanks you guys!!!

Here are the Rules:

Because it's Christmastime there are are changes to the rules. Each player needs to write a short note to Santa Paws and list 5 things on their Christmas list this year. Tagged dogs must post the rules in their diary and their letter with 5 requests. Then choose 5 pups to tag and list their names. Let them know by pawmail or rosette that they have been tagged and to read your diary for the instructions on how to play. AND... since it's Christmastime give them each 5 bones or treats.

Dear Mr Santa Paws ESQ (hehehehe)
Flippy here or as you might know me the lil golden gurl. I have been a pillar in the community this year. Not only have I been doing my neighbourhood watch with my mum in the mornings but I have caught redhanded a thieving squirrel nicking our wild bird fatballs from the garden! Also when we had a dog handed into our house we found the rightful owner of her and she went back to her brothers and sisters (plz note I did share my treats with her:-). I have also made friends with our dustbin men and they now see me as a ally not just a yappie lil gurl (hehehe). I have also donated all my fur a couple of times this year to the wild birds etc building their nests. Am I not nice?

So I was wondering Mr Paws if I could please have some gifts this year ?

i) Please can I have more clothes...I need tons of them
ii) A wardrobe to put said clothes into....
iii) A waterdish that the others dont drink out of...
iv) A tiara to adorn my lil head..
v) and for all dogs to have their chrissimiss wishes granted...

Double kisses and woofs from the lil gurl who idolises you!!! Mwah!

I would love if some of my dogster pals could do this....

i) William Bustopher Strout
ii) Tedibear
iii) Gracie Marie
iv) Mollie Tzu
v) Buzzy

Just gotto search for peeps to fill this in.....

Mum has done the mistake of buying balloons again!!!

AAAARRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OMD GOD!

I LOVE them they are well noisy and squidgy:-D

The best time to play with them which we have all found out is in the evening just as mum and dad are settling down to watch tv...heres whatyou do...

You get hold of a balloon and bite it continously (make sure peeps havent blown them up to much)

Then you run along with it in front of you ~ of course doing barks and yelps as you go.

Once you have it cornered you rampage a torrid of barks onto it as well as pawing it and squealing cause your having so much fun.

Then just as you get so excited......

Your peeps take it away from ya?

Hey DAD!!!!!!

The olde bugger has put it in the doggy room...OK...I'm the Diva of this household and I want it in the nice warm carpet room....methinks a battle of the fur Vs furless is gonna happen!!!

Ooooooo.....good one!

They had this idea that our pages would look o so cute if we was dressed up as the skinny scrawny birds from the spice world.

Well knowing that Cinders is the only skinny one out of the lot of us this has been a challenge.

Thankfully mum is not being tight with the food so we didnt have to diet for our costume fittings unlike a certain VB that if she sneezes would fall over:-)

Anyway peeps if you wanna know more about children in need and the spice girls..check this page out...

Blue Cross treats puppy attacked by dognappers

November 3rd 2007 12:54 am

Following a vicious attack on a three-month-old puppy, The Blue Cross is urging dog owners to prevent opportunistic thieves targeting their pets.

Samson, a young Staffordshire bull terrier, was admitted to the Blue Cross animal hospital in Victoria, London where he quickly received treatment for a badly broken leg.

Samson was tied to a bench outside a shop near his home in Notting Hill while his elderly owner shopped inside. Within minutes thieves tried to take the puppy but were interrupted by a passer-by, who alerted the owner.

The frustrated would-be thieves lashed out at Samson, kicking his leg with such force that it broke the bone. The injured puppy was immediately brought to The Blue Cross for an operation to mend the break. Fortunately, he has now made a full recovery and The Blue Cross also ensured he was microchipped before he went home.

Warning for dog owners
Samson’s owner, who asked to remain anonymous, said: "I’ve been using that shop for years and thought it would be safe to leave Samson there for a few minutes. I don’t know how anyone could treat an innocent puppy that way."

"I’m so happy he is now back home with me and I’m really grateful to The Blue Cross for mending Samson’s leg and for all their advice they have given me. I want to make sure other people listen to their advice to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else, or their dog."

Jess Gower, Blue Cross chief veterinary surgeon at Victoria hospital said: "Samson was very traumatised by his ordeal but thankfully we have the resources here to operate quickly and we were able to fix him up and get him back home. We also fitted him with a microchip which we advise all pet owners do so that their pets can be tracked down if they go missing."

"We also want to remind pet owners that animals this young are particularly vulnerable to both theft and disease so ideally should be kept away from public areas or carried until they have had all their vital vaccinations."

Advice
The Blue Cross offers the following top tips to help prevent dog theft:

Never leave your dog tied outside alone or in your car while you go shopping, however quick you might be
Make sure your dog is wearing a collar and tag with your name and address details in case he goes missing
Only let your dog off the lead if you know he will come back and make sure he remains close-by.

Bonfire night and fireworks!!

Woohoo it's finally here bonfire night burning of the guy and dads knackered smelly olde shoes that he likes to wear even though they have seen better dads. Mum has put them on the fire and I am postive I heard her say *burn baby burn*!

Remember dogsters take care these next few nights!

D-Day
There are several additional steps which can be taken on the day of the event

• Check that the den area is accessible, and prepared.

• Take your dog for a walk to make sure he has been to the toilet before the fireworks start.

• Feed him an hour before the event, adding some potato or white pasta to fill him up and make him sleepy

• If you can, set up some rhythmic music in the room. This can help to mask out the noise, so turn it up to a moderate level. Do, however, check that he likes it beforehand – and turn it off if he doesn't, or seems more stressed.

• When the fireworks start, take your pet to his den area and encourage him to settle there.

• Do NOT try to pat and stroke him in an attempt to sooth him if he is showing signs of stress. This simply rewards how he is behaving and teaches him that he's right to be scared. Don't let him know that you're concerned.

• Instead, if he's not settling in his den, try to distract him with a game or an easy training session, but don't force him to play.

• You may even want to consider setting up a TV in the “safe” room and simply sitting in there with him. Normal quiet, family company may help to calm him.

All this advice and more can be found on this page...

Take care dogsters over the next few nights XXXX

Mum again had the cheek to take us out on a early morning walk at the weekends!!!

HUH! I dont mind during the week, as a Lady has got to mingle with the paupers sometimes but at the weekend as well? Well I am going to complain to the management!!!

Usually I stay on my bed for longer and if so chose to decide I cant be bothered with a walk then she goes out with the other herberts while I get to lounge around and also sleep on the sofa without her noticing (I can move pretty quick for a 5 year old hehehe)

But this morning the cheeky mare made me go out ~ she weighed me yesterday and I weigh nearly a stone (13 pounds) Whoooooops I've kinda been lazy and have put on 4 pounds in the last couple of months OMDG!

Its all those titbits I find! Honestly! I mean the grass is yummy, the crumbs I find are extra yummy and if the lil sods havent eaten their food I'll nick their grub as well.:-)

RSPCA reveals a catalogue of cruelty

August 1st 2007 11:04 pm

A starving dog forced to eat its dead companions to survive, a cat so ill its face was stuck to the floor, and 1,000 hens in a maggot-infested pit.

That's just some of the cases in the "catalogue of cruelty" against animals revealed by the RSPCA today.

The animal charity's 2006 cruelty statistics show that, although there were more complaints investigated, there were fewer convictions than the previous year.

There was also a drop in offences against cats and dogs, but a rise in cases against horses and ponies.

The Animal Welfare Act - brought into force this spring - is allowing inspectors to intervene earlier in cases of animal cruelty, the charity said.

Director General Jackie Ballard said the extreme cases of neglect were shocking.

"Neglect has always been the most common form of cruelty. But these cases defy belief.

"Its just so shocking to discover pet food in homes where animals literally starved to death waiting for their owners to open a packet or a tin.

"Animals depend totally on their owners to meet their day-to-day needs.

"Ignoring this basic responsibility has heart-breaking consequences."

The report revealed a harrowing case in which inspectors found a dog in Stratford, London, starved to death in a couple's garden.

An emaciated cat in County Durham was so ill and frail that its face was stuck to the floor.

Its owners saw it every day but did nothing.

We ave gone all french over here in Blighty.

Mum will walk you through it....doggys not invited on this bit:-(

Let me walk you through it.........

Sunday morning you wake up and your greeted by gorgeous sunrays on your bed. You put your feet onto the soft rugs on your floor and stand up stretching as if your greeting the sun as it hits your sleepy face.

You walk downstairs and are embraced by your doggies (and other animals) all clumbering for your attention. You open up your back door and step outside and hear.....

Hey love hadnt you better put some clothes on (hehehe ok that didnt happen).
You hear birds twittering, your pets sniffing, scratching and you walk back in to get the much needed coffee..

After coffee, you have a shower, get changed and go out down town. Knowing today is le tour de france day you know parking will be at its worse so you chose a side street to park at.

Exiting your car you go towards your high street (the main shopping street of your town) and you can smell the most gorgeous delights of freshly cooked bread, bagels, crossiants, sticky buns and candy floss (not quite sure why we had candy floss there but hey still tasted great).

You buy a few crossiants and think sod that diet and go towards a gap in the main parade of people all lining the streets to see one of the biggest events to hit your town.

As this year it was the first time EVER that Le Tour De France started in the UK London to be exact. And it was going through our main town of Gravesend (or as some ppl might know it as the last resting place *supposedly* of Pocahontas).

It was Amazing!

We had over 2 thousand ppl watching the race in Gravesend alone. And I was standing talking to a couple of people who come from Florida (US) on one side and a man who come from Bologne (France) on my other side.

It was a excellant day for all and the main reason why?

French, English, Americans, as well as the other local Gravesend people of Kurds/ Muslims / Sikhs ~ incidently Gravesend has one of the biggest temples being built which will house 1200 sikh worshippers. All these ppl interacting with eachother ....just goes to show all nations can get on with each other if we all respect eachother....and hardly any trouble was reported...

Shame I'm a white catholic gal......bet I wont get invited into that temple:-)))

Well, I thought as the rest of the guys have written a lil diary entry I would have a go.

We have been going out on some cool walks (mum's taken us out in the mornings before the heat of the day gets to us). LOL ~ its only been late 60's ~ erly 70's but I have been sunbathing like a pro. I nearly got the postman a couple of times this week. Nan lifted me up to greet him and I debated on whether to nip him or lick him right on his nose. I chose the latter out of the two on both those occasions. Well I gonna lead him into a false sense of security hehehe.

Also I chased a pigeon in our garden this week ~ what happened was I was snoozing away in the garden when this bird landed on the fence and woke me up cooing! HUH! so I chased him along the fence (he was on the fence me was on the ground ~ I couldnt get my lil legs to jump high enough to land on the fence:-))

Well that is my excitement for the week hehehe.

It was just for a check up and we all went (hehehe imagine 5 tzus + 1 human = fair fight !)

We had to have our teeth checked, pads checked, heart rate, lungs etc etc. Mum just wanted to know we was doing OK. And after we had the check up we got to run rings around her in our local park!

Huh! 5 tzus will always outdo 1 human hehehehe. Flippy took noticed of mum and so did Windy but Alfie/ Quinn and Cinders had a raring time running around the field aroooooooooooooo.

Britains PM to leave......27th of June

Hi dogsterians.

Usually its Quinn that likes to rattle off any interesting news that might whet the appetites. But as he has been doing a lot of diary entries lately I thought I would write a few lines woof!

Well, there was mum enjoying her day off after taking us for a walk mind you. When we all was laying on the mat in the living room playfully biting eachother when Alfie (whos one of those dogs that love watching television) barked up hey theres breaking news on tv. Huh I yapped? It seems Britains Prime Minister Tony Blair is hanging up his satchel and coat and has finally released his intention of leaving speech. He will be tending his resignation to the Queen on the 27th June.

We would just like to say that even though we are blue dogs (tories not labour supporters) that Tony Blair has been a good leader in most aspects (he has made some interesting choices on key topics that may have been his downfall). But he has made history on quite a few subjects.

If you like to see what is going on now or read the bbc aspect of it. Heres a link to view.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/

We would just like to wish Tony Blair happiness for the future and good luck to him on whatever route he decides to take on stepping down as Labours leader and as the PM of the United Kingdom. These next 7 weeks are going to fly by!

Thought we would share this bit of news with you dogster members.

With Grease (is the word -reality show) on tv and morrisons selling asthma badges in pink bagpuss styles,I can see shes going to get her way. She been going to the food aisle of our locals supermarkets to get pink food dye. But at the moment dad has been putting her off phew!

So just wanted to warn you guys if I'm pink in the future its not my fault it will be in aid of Cancer research or if mum finds and uses the pink dye without dad knowing yikes!!!

Hey dogster's

We thought we'd leave a message about the London Marathon (which will start at 9am on Sunday GMT).

We arent going to be in the offical marathon (the temperature is too warm its in the 60's already) and we would sweat our lil paws off. But mum is going to take us around a huge park later on (its about 600 acres - but we're only gonna cover a bit of that). It also has 4 ponds there (hehehe and we havent got a swimming cossie awooooooooooo)

We just wanna wish all the runner's from around the world goodluck and also wanna wish all the guys that are sponsored for this event double good luck also!

Hi Peeps

You'll probably all scratching you furbie ears wondering what have I come up with now (hehehe going by the red nose day thingie and everything).

Well to all English people, ex pats of England, anyone who has a slight link to England in general and to some (yes really) europeon countries. We will be celebrating St Georges Day on the 23rd April.

This is the time for joyous dancing, drinking and giving a paws up to our patron saint (us in the tzu household are all teetotals so we will be drinking a juice of some sorts).

Ireland has St Paddys day, Scots have any occasion day to get the beers out day (hehehe) and we have St Georges Day.

So we would be so very puppy happy if you could join us and help us celebrate our Patron saint - and we will gleefully help anyone who is celebrating Jamestown 400! Also check out Quinns diary for some information about why Virginians and us have something in common!

Mum usually gives us hot cross buns (she warms them in the oven) and then we sit outside munching on them - definitely heaven! Our easter usually starts on the Good friday (yesterday) and ends on Monday.

So Happy Easter to all my fellow dogsterians Waggily wags Flippy XoXoXo

US prosecutors trying to crack a murder case realised they were barking up the wrong tree when one of their witnesses turned out to be a small dog.
They had been interested in talking to Murphy Smith since the main suspect sent him a letter from his cell.

But when he turned up at court, lawyers knew they had grabbed the wrong lead for Murphy was a pet, not a relative.

Albert K Smith, the dog's owner, is awaiting trial in Arkansas, over the shooting of his ex-wife's boyfriend.

The defendant had written to Murphy from his cell - alerting prosecutors' suspicions.

They sent out a subpoena, and the five-year-old Shih Tzu duly appeared at the Benton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, led by the defendant's brother.

An official refused to grant them access to the courthouse - because no dogs are allowed.

Prosecutor Robin Green told the Associated Press news agency she apologised to the brother for any inconvenience, adding: "The dog was friendly enough and probably would have been a very co-operative witness."

So why are the Tzus wearing red noses?

Well.........

Red Nose Day is back and it's bigger than ever - it is The Big One. The Big One is here to get you up off your bum, involved, aware and raising cash to help poor and disadvantaged people across the UK and Africa turn their lives around. It's all about giving you great comedy and entertainment, and in return you giving me your time, energy, BIG ideas and money! (taken from http://www.myspace.com/rednoseday2007 ).

The first "Red Nose Day" was on 5 February 1988, and raised £15 million. The TV show was hosted by Lenny Henry, Griff Rhys Jones and Jonathan Ross. More than £300 million has so far been distributed to projects by Comic Relief (not sure what that is in dollars).

If you wanna put a red nose on your dog here's the link. http://noseify.rednoseday.com/

Or to find out more information. http://www.rednoseday.com/

Come and join in the fun - should be a day to remember.

Love the Tzus XoXoXo

Going on from Quinns page of news on the web. Quinn and I found another story - boy o boy this cat was huge!! The weight this cat lost is more than what the pups (individually) weigh!

A nine-year-old cat was named U.K. pet slimmer of the year after shedding 2kg, or 4.4 pounds, on a strict diet and lots of exercise. The cat owner Helen Ebrahim, said Willie used to be so fat because of eating too much back when they were still living in the U.S.

However, the cat started shedding some weight when his owner moved to Pembrokeshire, England three years ago.

Ebrahim told the BBC, "He went to the vet regularly in the States but they would just say 'he's big' and that was the end of that. When I brought to him to the vets here they asked if I heard about the weight loss program. As well as the diet he plays outdoors and we have at least 15 minutes of active play a day.

"He has more energy and you can see a big change in him, not just physically. It's the same as for people, exercise and diet."

Cathy Raymond, a nurse at the Kingston Veterinary Group in Pembroke, oversaw the diet and exercise of Willie.

Raymond said, "With Willie at the beginning we saw him once every three weeks - put him on the scales, got the tape measure out and talked about what he had been doing and eating since the last time we saw him.

"Now he has lost so much weight it is less frequent. It will definitely increase his life expectancy."

Willie bested all the competition across the U.K. to win the award organized by Hill's Pet Nutrition to help awareness on pet obesity.

Dogs can be bilingual too:-)

A local business was looking for office help. They put a sign in the window, stating the following:

"HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer, and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer."

A short time afterwards, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign, and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it, and whined. Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised, to say the least; however, the
dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office.

Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager. The manager said, "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type."

The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter, and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the
manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair.

The manager was stunned, but then told the dog, "The sign says you have to be good with a computer."

The dog jumped down again and went to the computer. The dog proceeded to enter and execute a perfect program that worked flawlessly the first time.

By this time, the manager was totally dumbfounded! He looked at the dog and said, "I realize that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities; however, I still can't give you the job."

The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentences that told about being an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The manager said, "Yes, but the sign ALSO says that you have to be bilingual."

The dog looked at the manager calmly and said, "Meow!"

50+ reasons for a girl to choose a dog... and not a man

A dog has long been a man's best friend. Few women have a problem with that. But when The Field - the magazine devoted to the hunting, shooting, fishing fraternity - suggested 50 reasons why dogs are better than women, it started the paw wars.

A dog gets a new coat every winter.
Dogs are not so careless about leaving puddles on the bathroom floor.

Christmas is coming the Shih Tzus are getting fat
Please put a candy in the old dogs hat
If you havent got a candy a chewy will do
And if you havent got a chewy then God bless you!

This was taken from a old rhyme that my Great Grandma used to say to my mum.

Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man's hat;
If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do,
If you haven't got a ha'penny then God bless you!

The charitable lyrics nursery rhyme!
The lyrics of this song were to associate the Christmas feast with geese which were traditional English Christmas fayre. The meaning that was conveyed to a child was that the festive period was where each should give to charity, according to their means...even if they could only give their blessing!

The song!

A tea leaf???? Huh, thats another name mum has given me. And there was me 'borrowing' that chewy from the table. If she don't want me to take it she shouldn't put a chair nearby. Hehehehe

That trick has earned me quite a few rewards - the time when Dad had a packet of sweets on the window sill - and it just so happens I could jump on the sofa, crawl along the back of it and nick them. They were yummy!!!

Now, when is mum going to put a chair near the fruit - grapes are my favourite as I dont need them peeled;-D

Mum has come across many variations of this and has made up a sign for all of us with our picture included - it now has pride of place in our doggie room. It is so funny and can be applied to any type of dog whatsoever. Feel free to copy and paste it and put a picture of your doggie on it.

1: If I like it, it's mine
2: If it's in my mouth, it's mine
3: If I can take it from you, it's mine
4: If I had it a little while ago it's still mine
5: If its mine, it must never appear to be your's in any given way
6: If it looks like mine, it's almost definitely mine
7: If I'm chewing on something, all the pieces are mine
8: If I saw it first, it's mine
9: If your playing with something and then you put it down it transfers ownership to me. ...so it's mine
10: If its broken.......you can have it back - its yours!

Wahey...bonfire night = more food!!

Every year Quinn and me go out into the garden and watch the massive bonfire across the road. Quinn prefers the fireworks but I prefer the bonfire. For at the bottom of the bonfire is tin foil wrapped baked potatoes hmmm yummy. Mummy always dunks them in cold water before we get them and mashes them up with gravy - taste bud explosion goodness mmmmmmm:-D

This year was extra special though as a few months ago I had pups and the 3 kids was playing out in the garden watched over by Quinn. I get tired watching all the fireworks going up in the sky - too time consuming - I love my sleep hehehehe.

Well, mum thought that as we havent seen my other grandparents for a couple of weeks that we should do a bit of visiting. This to me means only one thing......snooping. hehehehehe.
So while Harley is playing with that fox etc I nipped back into the house and woohoo....nicked quite a few of Rosie's treats (she lives with the g'parents - a massive girl dog compared to lil ole me!.

They thought putting them in the cupboard and leaving the door ajar I wouldn't be able to open it.

HA...a quick twist of the paw and abracadabra open door hehehehe. I had quite a few markies before mum noticed that I was stealing something and after apologising for me (Hey I meant to do it) they all laughed and said I could give Houdini a run for his money. Hey anytime - methinks hehehehe

Mum, has finally left the computer on while she is busy doing something else. So we can leave a message:-) Mum, has taken a week off work and has promised to take us out chest nutting in the local woods. This is perfect for me to meet, greet and nick treats off of other dogs - yippee!! Also, I can try and lose Quinn in the woods - like I tried to do last time - if only those other dogs hadn't brought him back - D'Oh!! I love him really especially when we both get a treat and he walks away from his so I can eat it:-)
