Joy Mason DVM had a animal communication booth at the 2005 ASCA Nationals in Georgia Oreo and I got to visti:

~The first thing Joy did was giggle. Rainie said "Im not as smart as they think I am" (Rainie is very blonde but I had been working her twards her versatility Ch which meant getting her CDX and getting her open and advanced stock titles(those she did get). I worked Rainie way past where most people would have given up. )

~Joy said that she thinks she is a beauty queen and described her as the girl from "Clueless" if she was a person. (Everyone has always LOVED Rainie for her conformation and beauty so this was right on.)

~Rainie thinks obedience is just a lot to do at once and that if she messes up everyone is watching so she wants to leave because she is embarrased. (Rainie was an excellent novice dog -multiple scores in the 190's and never DQ'd- and does great open work at home but at shows she would shut down in open and leave. She loved novice but in open her eyes glaze over and the gate is all she wants and she will go back and hide in her crate where no one can see her but there is no way Joy could have known this)

~We asked what Rainie thinks of stock. She said ducks are loud and smelly, she likes sheep, and cattle are intimidating and dont listen to her. We replied that they dont listen because she barks too much and that she needed to bight them too. Joy laughed and said Rainie was shocked and didnt think she was supposed to bite them. We told her that she could and should. Rainie was excited about that. (the next time she worked she didnt bight but she also used her bark more wisely instead of constantly. Also the month before Nationals we had brought home a crate full of ducks from a trial that rained all weekend. It was raining so we had the truck windows shut but when we stopped we were able to smell the wet ducks from the outside of the truck, which is where she got the stinky thing-she loves ducks otherwise)

~ Mom asked what Rainie thought of Lacey. Rainie said she was very sad and connected to grandma (we had not mentioned grandma at all) Rainie also felt she was much happier now and was with grandma. (We put Lacey down 2 weeks before Nationals and Lacey was always very mopey because she lived with my grandma until she died that spring.)

~ When asked about Cruz Rainie said he was a grumpy old man (he is 15.5 but Joy did not know that or who Cruz was). She also said Ty was annoying sometimes but she liked playing with him. That ended the 1/2 hour with Rainie:-)

I was SO happy when Joy spoke to my people. They never made me do open obedience again but I am going to start agility soon-it sound really fun:-) If you want to learn more about Joy and how she came across her "gift" (believe me its something straight from the "Twilight Zone" please visit : http://www.joymason.com/

Rainie and her little brother Smoke got to go to Fall River and the Rio Elementary today to help show the little kiddies what fun animals are. There was everything form a guinie hen to a donkey there. Rainie's very important job was to give wagon rides to the little kids. She was a big hit and a HUGE line formed behind her. She gave rides for about 2 hours without a break except a few sips of water (of course I was running along with her too). She is such a trooper:-) She will sleep really well tonight. She really liked giving kisses and Smoke enjoyed meeting all the kids. They even got to help load a stubborn sheep into the trailer.
