So, my mom has been hogging the computer all week (something about an organic chemistry test....psh) so she never let me get on to share my big brag from last weekend!

Ok, here it is.... I got a brand new bumper (just like the ones I LOVE to steal from the spinone's) and was able to pick out a really yummy cow hoof from a pet store! I also got to sleep on the bed in the hotel which was pretty amazing....I love squiggling on beds!

I guess I must have done something pretty special to get all this new stuff for myself....I better let mom explain it though because I dont really care how it happened...I just know I got the goods!

Ty's VERY proud mom here.... I know it is a little late (Organic Chem test today that meant I had no time to do anything but study) but I wanted to brag about my Ty guy a bit. Last weekend we went to a show in Ixonia, WI and were entered in obedience for three trials. He only needed one more CDX leg though. Right away Saturday morning he did all his excersises (in the normal Ty mannor that always includes doing some fun little thing to get the crowd laughing) and then it came to the out of sight long sits and downs.....This is where we have been having some trouble! Convincing my boy that it isnt funny to lay down in the last 2o seconds of the long sit has been a bit of an issue. BUT after what seems like an eternity of pacing, praying, and trying to send "mind messages" I was allowed to return to his side...and lo and behold he was sitting just as I left him! This meant he finished his last CDX leg (with a first place too!) and also dun dun dun... His VERSATLITY CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!! This also put our kennel in the ASCA Hall of Fame! Must have been a present for my 20th birthday which was the 15th;-) Ty is the second VCH in our household in a little over a year (no doubt shortly to be followed by Smoke)....I am so proud of all of my boys!

Ok, so I had a one-day stock trial today (last one of the year;-( ) Ty was entered in Advanced all three and I also trialed Maries Gus (the dark boy I have 10pts and numerous reserves on) in Started sheep and cattle. He trialed in Ducks too but I cant work him very often and he started out trying to eat ducks so Marie took him in....rather have him Q than get thank-you'd;-)

Anywho Ty was the very first run of the day on cattle. The take pens were slop pits and Ty didnt really want to go in there. I went in and helped a bit which in advanced you get knocked a bit for. He drove up to first panel nicely and across to second. Then had a beautiful center. Unfortunately only 2/3 cattle through each obsticle though. We set up the repen really nice but one turned out instead of in but Ty caught it and brought it in. Unfortunately he decided to follow it in....which he NEVER does. ANyway he got an 87...Q is 88. He had the nicest looking Advanced run though according to everyone else...the judge Q'd two runs that were MUCH sloppier....

Then on sheep he did AWESOME!!!! I dont remember exact details but he did most of it with only a couple words from me.....like maybe 10 words total. He ended up with a 112 on them which is the highest score I have ever had a dog get!!! High 90's are great....low hundreds are wonderful and anything over 110 are friggin awesome! This finished his ATDs

Then on ducks we got a group that really pulled to the inside so we really had to work to get them to the first panel but we managed a 91 which finished not only his ATDd but also our Desi's HOF Dam status!!!! This is with only the two pups we kept and I showed/trialed both of them to all of their titles.

So then at the awards ceremony (I had no idea what his scores were mind you) We ended up with HIT Sheep, HIT Aussie, HIT, and High Combined!!!!!! We beat a bunch of other aussies, a kelpie, BC, and Rottie for all this!!! Gus also Q'd on all three classes of stock for his first legs and took Most Promising Started Aussie with our sheep run.

I am on cloud 9! Ty only needs two cattle legs for his WTCh and his CDX for his VCH. Also our kennel only needs 2 more titles for HOF status!!!!

Here are the pics!

Last weekend I did SO Good!!! I was "specialed" on Friday night only and took Best of Breed (over 5pt majors in dogs and bitches) under one of the judges that actually helped WRITE the standard!!! She really liked me and fawned over me all weekend long!

Then on saturday I qualified in both of my runs to finish my open sheep and duck titles!!!! I also won Most Versatile Aussie!

Then on Sunday mom bumped me up to advanced in sheep and ducks and thought she would have to help me but it was worth a try anywyay....boy did I show her! I qualified on both my Advanced runs and even got a 100 in ducks!!!! Now my mommy Desi only needs me to Q in advanced ducks one more time to be an ASCA Hall of Fame Dam!! I also only need 4 Q's to be a working trial champion and Versatility Champion!!!!!! Plus Im only 3 little years old...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ty trying to herd the funny "sheep" with antlers that tastes funny.

This is hilarious in RL so I thought I would tape it. He wasnt doing it like he normally does though. Usually he tries to make it move a lot more and grips it more. Oh well you will get the picture...BEWARE: TURN DOWN THE VOLUME!!!!!!!!

No 'animals' were harmed in the making of these videos...

BTW: Thank goodness he doesnt bark when he is actually herding something that moves...that would get old fast...

Well I Qualified on Saturday to get the first legs in both my open sheep and open duck titles. THe judge on Sunday passed VERY few dogs (only 5 on sheep with all runs full!) She was TOUGH!!! My runs were even pretty decent...oh well. I did get first place in both classes though so nobody in my class got green ribbons either.

Now I have to finish my open titles in august and maybe start my advanced ones....

Bird Dog Wanna Be....

Yesterday was really fun! Mom took us to a lady's house that raises Italian Spinones (mom sometimes calls them spagetti dogs but I tried them yesterday and they definately DON'T taste like spagetti) Anyway we took 5 puppies swimming to learn how to retrieve the bumper. Mom threw my frisbee for me too and Smoke and the pups stayed in the shallows with the bumper.

Pretty soon the lady came over and said she let two quail go and wanted to see what the pip squeeks would do with them. Of course Smoke and I ran up with them and I saw it go running and tried to herd it back to mom but she called me off and put my leash on (the nerve). After the puppies caught the birds we took them down to the water and the lady threw them in the water. The puppies found one but not the other. BUT I sure saw the other and tried to tell them where it was but they wouldn't listen. Pretty soon the lady told mom to let me go get it (at least someone around here listens to me). I dove right in and swam out as fast as I possibly could to the middle where the bird was. When I got there I picked it up really softly and brought it back to mom. The bird was peaking out between my teeth and looking around. I'm sure it was happy to be out of the water since it did not swim very well. The lady was very impressed with my and said she was sure I would kill it. She said my soft mouth, swimming, and searchings skills were just like that of a seasoned water retriever. *wipes off shoulder* Yup all in a day's work...I bring new meaning to "the Versatile aussie"

Woofs and wags,
Ty Boy

Ty had a great weekend in performance venues-He qualified on Saturday in Open Cattle with a score of 95 and second place. He also earned a 88/90 in the conformation evaluation part of the "Most Versatile Aussie" competition and with those scores earned that award also!!!! On sunday he qualified with a 95 (hey at least he is consistant!) and tied for 1st place but lost by time. Considering he has only been on cattle 4 times since last fall I was very pleased with him. His name is now Ch CarMel Knock'n Um Dead CGC CD OTDc STDds RTDc

It was a bittersweet ending......
Friday Night:
Oreo-1/2 in class
Jrs-Reserve
Smoke-2/2----Shyed from (buco preggo) judge
Rennie(dog I show for someone and have put all points on)-3 out of huge open black class of all major pointed dogs-including the Cole kid.

Sat AM:(Bruce Caldwell-Cavalier aussies)
Oreo 1/2
Jrs-Resv.
Smoke 3/3-shyed again cuz he was still freaked about the night before.-went up to judge after show and was schmoozing in his lap.
Ty obedience- 1st in Novice B!!! and HIT Junior:-)
Rennie- WD/BOW for his final points-finished with 4 majors at only 1 year and 10 days. His owner was VERY excited since he is her first show dog(she is an ARPH leader. SHe is the one that took me to Oklahoma and Missouri...

PM:
Oreo-1/2
Jrs-reserve
Smoke- 1/3 and judge said as we walked out that he was a very nice dog. My guess is he just needs to grow up a bit-also he was a swerving marvin on Down and backs and I couldnt get him to straighten out...

Sunday(Judge was the Peppertree breeder)
Juniors: BJH for my final time in the junior ring. Katie went reserve and it was both of our last times....
Oreo: Major reserve-UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Smoke-1/3
Ty obedience-moved up to open and had a blast. He anticipated the broad jump and due to my mixed signal also anticipated the recall. He was happy and it was the funnest NQ I have ever had. He held his stays and people commented on his happy work ethic so I was happy. He flew to get the dumbell. I was so proud. I didnt expect to Q anyway because he has only been in training the last few months and with softball it is spotty training at that. It was kind of a "see where he is at" deal. I was pleased-Rainie shut down in open at shows. She went from one of the best novice dogs you could ask for (perfect Q record with a 193 at Nationals in 03) to a dog that just wanted to leave the ring in open. She even blew her healing she was so nervous. Her eyes would glaze and their was nuthin you could do. Im glad Ty is not like his sis:-)

Katie Kupfer and I BFF's. This was both of our last weekends.

Well, we traveled to Missouri for an ASCA show this weekend and WOW did we do well!!

Oreo took 2 altered Best of Breeds and then 2 altered RWD's. He also greatly increased his fan base

Ty took WD for a four pt major to finish his Championship!!! and then we couldnt move him up so he stayed in the classes and took RWD to a 5 pt major. He specialed in one show the next day but they were AKC judges so he did nothing

Ty and I took two Best Junior Hanlders and 2 Reserve Junior handlers. We are now only one BJH away from 500 club-and we have till May 31 to do it so we will hopefully be ok

I also showed a cute little bitch for someone the show Ty took RWD and she went WB, BOW, BOB for her first 5 pts
