Walking in the Park

ok, so Mom got this fancy idea... we miss all the puppies that graduated from our classes, right? So why not invite them to come say "hi" down at the local park, and just go for a walk?? How easy is that??
NOW she wants to open it up to people & their dogs from Trap Falls Kennel Club ! She says, "We only do monthly meetings, the big show in april, and RDO day in september. Why not socialise in a non-confrontational setting?" nobody asks for help doing anything, no volunteering, just come walk!

Mom sure is on the ball!
We have SO much fun- I get to see how the puppies have grown, the owners can ask mom questions, she helps them learn not to pull, and we all get some exercise!!
Mom says we could always add more friends!
If you live in the Valley area of Connecticut, and can meet up with us in downtown Shelton at the River Walk Park, we are there on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm, and on Saturdays @ 2 pm & 7pm

It really is rruff to get mom to sit. stay. type.
Anyhow, we are looking forward to sunday march 20th. We are heading out to Newtown, CT. to meet and greet and walk with Luke Robinson and his 2 buddies, Hudson & Murphy! They have been walking for 2 years now- going from Austin, TX. to Boston, MA. to raise awareness and money for research of dog cancers!
While I don't know of anyone in particular, I know my breed is suceptible to a number of different cancers, so We'd like to see them succeed!!
Murphy was out of action for a while, and hasn't logged as many miles as Hudsy & Papi(what the boys call him), so we are helping out! Mom & I are logging "Murphy Miles" for him! Logged 4 already, and we are haveing the puppy manners class join us to add even more!
Hopefully I'm not too tired to enjoy meeting them on sunday....

Wow! the class Mom's teaching this session has 12 pups in it! Talk about a tight fit in the room! There's discussion of finding another place to hold classes- guess we'll have to wait & see. Half-way through the session, and I've only been to two classes- hurt my paw (vet said I had to rest), and was in heat... not allowed to play with puppies when I smell so good- I guess!
anyhow, mom's mumbling about "election day" november 3rd- something about "spay"? not sure what that is... Oh, well- not gonna worry about it.
(Yawn) well, gotta get outside before my nap- howl at ya later!

Mom & I went to see the people at Pet Degree training center for the Therapy Dogs International test- and I wasn't feeling up to the task. It seems that I'm soon to be in heat again( whatever that means), so I felt skittish, and shied away from the tester. Mama says she loves me anyway, so it's all good. I think we need to get a therapy dog to come for RDO day, but I'll be there, too!

{YAWN}
ever had one of those days...?
Mom and Kevin went to a place called "daycamp", and were gone almost all day! When they got home, they smelled REALLY interesting, like ALOT of different kids- so I guess that wasn't so bad... I got alot of quality naptime.
Mom is very satisfied lately... We are about to finish up the third session of "Puppy Manners" classes, and I've had a great time every tuesday night playing with the babies and their people.
This means that Mom & I have helped 22 families get off on the right paw- so to speak!
Mom really likes helping new families get to understand their pups, and I get to play!!
On Saturday, August 15th, I'll be going for another test- this one is to become a registered therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International!!
I've already passed the Canine Good Citizen test, and the temperment test given by the German Shepard working dogs club, so I should do fine.
This means I can help Mom out with teaching kids how to meet a dog safely at Responsible Dog Owner Day in Shelton at the Riverwalk on September12th, 2009.
I'mm looking forward to alot of fun!

Hey, all!
Mom's going on about her hand bothering her... We've been using Dad's car now since christmas break, and it's a manual- whatever that means... So mom's right hand is hurting again(didn't know it bothered her before)
Well, Dasd wants his car back, so we're going to get a new one for mom... it's a pre-owned model, so it should smell interesting!!
We start the next puppy class on tuesday, and there are at least 4 pups in the group. One is "getting his graduate studies done"- he was too little to move up to the next level- and the rest are doing fine!
Dawn Lowery, Mom's school buddy, is teaching the next level once we finish our class. I like Dawn, and I think the pups will do well under her tender care!
(yawn)
Gotta go- pillow calling!

Well, the past seven weeks have flown by, I've made alot of friends, and shared my mom with some youngsters, and now they are ready to move on to the next level!
I'm very proud of those babies- even the ones that are bigger than me!
I really hope that all the people decide to join Trap Falls Kennel Club- that way, I can meet up with them once a month!!
Mom's pulling out all the stops for the graduation... she got free cookie samples, certificates, goodies, and coupons! We also got one of the students who works at a veterinary hospital to get info on pet insurance!! We had a grreat time with this group, and after a week off, we start again. I hope this next group pays attention the way the last group did! What a barking good time!

Boy, I'm tired...

Those puppies are cute! We're now friends with;
a Bernese Mountain dog,
a Plott/lab mix,
a Havanese,
a Yokshire terrier,
a sheperd/terrier mix,
a Yellow Lab,
and an Australian Sheperd!!
These wonderful owners brought their newest family members to meet mom & I last tuesday night, and we get to see them every tuesday for the next seven weeks!! We had alot of fun, and Mom taught the people how to help the babies understand them better!
Well, gotta go- Mom's putting me out so I can!bol!

NO, I'm not pregnant!
Mom's going to be teaching a new class for Trap Falls Kennel Club- called Puppy Manners! She wants me to come along to be the example dog! Wonder if she has any idea what she's in for!!
There are seven pups, all under 6 months, and an eighth on the way.
How 'bout that? a litter that I don't hafta feed!
Mom's very ready for this- she's been going over material for the past two weeks getting ready. I'll hafta bother her to type for me & tell ya how it goes!
AROOooo for now!

Well, here we go again... the kitchen table has been moved, there are more people here(luckily, I love them!) and Mom's in cooking-mode again! Must be Thanksgiving!
Mom went crazy, as usual, buying all the food, keeping it safe from the cat and I, and now, at 7 am this morning, she will begin the process of KITCHEN HOGGING!
it really smells fabulous, so it's hard to stay out... lucky for me, the kids like to play with me!
Dad actually cooked supper last night, and I'm a little sad- didn't get a taste at all, but the cat got on the table again! Had to bark at him to let them know... Mom's threatening him with the cat carrier during the big meal...seems like justice to me- I'm in my crate anyway! bol
I don't mind it, though- it's comfy, and mom feeds me in there.
Anyway, Happy Turkey Day to all my friends, and family!!
AROOoooooo!
