Birthday: March 31st 2003 Likes: Laying outside on her cot Pet-Peeves: An itch on the side that I'm missing my leg.... Favorite Toy: tennis ball Favorite Walk: Anywhere with mom and dad Best Tricks: Shaking hands-since she only has 3 legs it's a pretty good trick! Arrival Story: We adopted her a month after she was hit by a car. She was trying to escape life as a chained dog when she was hit. Her rear leg had to be amputated but that doesn't slow her down at all. It was amazing to see how fast she adapted to three legs and learned that she was free to run without chains. She found out that a tennis ball is a pretty fun toy and that life can be good again. After all she has been through she is the most sweet, loving dog ever. Unfortunately our sweet girl has been diagnosed with terminal cancer...we will make the best of the time we have left with her. Bio: Tamaiijja passed her Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog tests. She has been visiting the library to help kids read and the cancer care center!
This past February Tamaiijja was diagnosed with cancer. A type of nerve cancer called Malignant Schwannoma...it started on her stomach and spread to her liver. After surgery to remove 3 of the five tumors and 5 rounds of chemo she is doing wonderfully. Very little side effects from the chemo and she is happy and healthy for the time being. We don't know how much time we have left with her but we are treasuring every day with our sweet girl.
Today 8/21/09 our sweet husky girl lost her battle with cancer. Her last checkup showed major progression of the cancer with fluid accumulation in her abdomen. So to her save her from any suffering we sent her to Rainbow Bridge today. I know she will be waiting for us...she brought us true joy and we will miss her terribly....
In memory of our sweet girl we have set up a donation page on the National Canine Cancer web site...if you could please donate.. any amount would be appreciated...many thanks. www.wearethecure.org/friends/
