Arrival Story:
I found this baby through the internet and found out when she would be available to adopt. So I set out to the South LA shelter and saw her. I first got alarmed upon seeing her unusually long tongue, but quickly fell in love. I immediately signed papers to make sure no one else got her. My husband and I now have lives that revolve around her.

Bio:
Pita (short for Pepita) is believed to be around 6 years old (though her doctor says she's 8, but we don't believe him). I'm praying her tongue has been long since she was born, because I don't want to think she was ever abused. She was found roaming the streets of South Central LA (can you imagine???) and was brought in to the shelter. She weighed a mere 4 lbs when I got her, and she has since gained 4 1/2 lbs. since then. There's not one day that a person doesn't say how cute she is. She's had her picture taken by strangers so many times that I think I should start charging.
