RIP CopperJanuary 22nd 2012 5:21 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Copper crossed to Rainbow Bridge this afternoon. The vet came to our house and Copper was surrounded by her family. She took one small lick of peanut butter. She was held and kissed and petted and told over an over how special and loved she was. She passed peacefully and was held as she went towards the bridge to her human sister who went to heaven in 2008. Copper will be missed so much. She was 17 years old. She was 3 when we adopted her and she lived with us for 14 years and filled our lives with love.

I have the best boyfriend everFebruary 19th 2008 11:33 pm[ Leave A Comment ] My boyfriend Duke sent me the sweetest Valentine's gift. He sent me heart shaped cookies from Chef Sadie. OMD they were so good. I let my furblings have a taste of the sampler that cme with them, but the hearts are all mine. They had our names on them and little love messages. He also gave me a picture of us together that mama is going to try to scan on here. It is the best picture. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have the best boyfriend on dogster. :) I love you Duke. XOXOXOXOXOX
ThanksgivingNovember 23rd 2007 12:31 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Yesterday was a good day. Mom made a big turkey and of course I got some. I love eating turkey...I love eating anything. It was a nice relaxing day. After we ate we all took a nap. I slept on the couch near mom. The pups crowd me out. Our girl came over but she was not feeling very well. I am so thankful that my mom rescued me from the animal shelter. I only had one day left. Can you imagine such a cute pup having only one day left? That was 10 years ago. My life could have ended at 3 but instead I have turned 13 years old this month. I am thankful to have a family who loves me very much and who spoil me and who let me know that I am so special to them. I am one lucky dog, but then again they are lucky to have me.
Walkin my legs offOctober 13th 2007 10:53 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Today mom walked my legs off. I was in a parade today. I went and walked with the shelter that mom volunteers for. First, mom parked 100 miles away and I had to walk to the area that we were staging. Then I got to hang out there with Tex, Bo, and Brutus from the shelter. Trixie was with us too. Me and Trixie wore our "I did time" shirts. Then we had to walk 200 miles down the parade route. Mom was laughing at me because the closer we got to the park I could smell the food from the vendors. I sure picked up my pace then. Once we got to the park I got to eat a hotdog. Of course then I got tired. Hellllo mom, I am 12 years old and I get tired after I walk 3000 miles. I did perk up and jumped a hay bail when the little boy next to me dropped his hotdog. Daddy had to leave early so I went home with him. I refused to walk one more step so daddy had to carry me to the car. A girl can only walk so much at my age.

An Open Letter to the Service Men and Women of our CountryMay 28th 2007 1:23 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Today is a day set aside to remember our fallen heroes. I would like to take that moment and reflect on the brave men and women who sacrafice their very lives for our great country. You are willing to lay down your very life to protect the freedoms that all to often are taken for granted. You have endured hardship and discomfort while I have had comfort. You have eaten MRE's while I have enjoyed homecooking or a meal from a restuarant. You have slept fitfully while I have slept comfortably in my bed. You have endured unbearable heat while I have just turned the air conditioner up when I get uncomfortable. You wait patiently for packages that will hopefully bring a magazine, a deck of cards, some gum, some special treats, while I run to the grocery store at a moments notice. You have watched your friends die as you, yourself dodged bullets, or bombs that are meant to take your life. You have endured the hateful remarks of people who do not want this war, as though you were the one who decided it should take place. You fought for their right to say that they do not agree with our elected officials without the fear of death for saying it out loud. Your family has sacrificed as well. Not having you home each and every night. Having to remain brave in your absence. I want to say to you on this day for remembering. THANK YOU!. It is not enough yet there are not words to convey the pride I feel when I see one of you in uniform. It is not enought to convey to you the pride I feel when I hear "The Star Spangled Banner" or the sorrow I feel when I hear the sad strains of a trumpet playing taps. I am proud to be an American and I am proud of YOU, the brave warriors who protect our country. The warriors who have paid with their lives, the warriors who are even now on the battle front. The future warriors who, because of you may serve their country with the same determination and pride you serve with today. Because our country has a voluntary enlistment you have made the choice to protect and serve this great country. How can we ever repay your decision? How can we ever thank you enough? What words will be the right ones to let you know how incredibly proud of you I am. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is not much, but it is all I can say and I will say it to each one of you that I meet in person. I will say it in my actions when I support you. I will say it in my heart when it swells knowing that you are the brave protectors of America!
FootballMay 25th 2007 9:48 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Well tonight I got to go watch my boy's football practice. It was so much fun. I got to roll in the grass and eat some crackers that some lil kids dropped and I played briefly with a little dog who was at the park. I walked around the park. I laid in the grass and I sat and watched kids. A lot of little kids wanted to hug me. I was so sweet and good and let them all hug and pet me. Mom says that I am such a good girl. Then mom took us to Wendy's and we got chicken nuggets and then we went to the bark park. There was a little beagle puppy there and she would run over to me and Trixie. She was cute. There was a burnese mountain dog puppy there and he was so cute too. I heard mom say she was in love and I thought to myself, what are you talking about? You have beagles. She said she loved how big and clumsy he played. After sniffing for awhile it was home. I sure was worn out after being out so long. I wonder if I will get to go to the game tomorrow.
