Best Tricks: Sitting up for food. Elvis smile, she knows how to sit and when you aske her to show you what she wants she will go sit at the door with her nose in the door frame to go outside.
Arrival Story: Nine years ago, when Copper was three years old my daughter saw her on tv. She was shown as one of the dogs up for adoption on the nightly news segment. I had owned a beagle before and she had passed away. I love the breed. The next day I went to check her out. My son was two at the time so I wanted to test her temperment. She was adorable but very overweight. She weighed 45 pounds when i saw her. Her previous owners had been an elderly couple who had to give her up in order to move into assisted living and she was their baby and was quite the porker. Her disposition was so calm and I knew she would be good with my son. So I adopted her and have had her for nine years now and she is the best dog. In nine years I can count the number of times she has barked on one hand.
Bio: Copper is loved by her mom, dad and human brother and sister. Three years ago a cat named maddy was added to the family. Copper and Maddy get along well. In May of 2006 another beagle named Trixie was added to the home. Copper gets along well with Trixie as long as Trixie doesn't try to eat her food. Copper loves walks and runs with her boy. Copper really likes her comforts and is often asleep on her big pillow or the couch. Copper loves to take car rides and travels to Texas every year. When she sees the suitcases going in to the car she gets in the back seat and will not get out. Copper also goes to the dog park. While she is not a real playful dog, she does enjoy being off leash to sniff and follow trails.

My boyfriend Duke sent me the sweetest Valentine's gift. He sent me heart shaped cookies from Chef Sadie. OMD they were so good. I let my furblings have a taste of the sampler that cme with them, but the hearts are all mine. They had our names on them and little love messages. He also gave me a picture of us together that mama is going to try to scan on here. It is the best picture. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have the best boyfriend on dogster. :) I love you Duke. XOXOXOXOXOX
Yesterday was a good day. Mom made a big turkey and of course I got some. I love eating turkey...I love eating anything. It was a nice relaxing day. After we ate we all took a nap. I slept on the couch near mom. The pups crowd me out. Our girl came over but she was not feeling very well. I am so thankful that my mom rescued me from the animal shelter. I only had one day left. Can you imagine such a cute pup having only one day left? That was 10 years ago. My life could have ended at 3 but instead I have turned 13 years old this month. I am thankful to have a family who loves me very much and who spoil me and who let me know that I am so special to them. I am one lucky dog, but then again they are lucky to have me.
