Likes: For the short time that we had Isabell, she sleeped most of the time.

Pet-Peeves: She doesn't like other dogs... or humans very much. She most of had a horrible life!

Favorite Food: Izzy's favorite food was K/D Science diet... she wouldn't eat the dry, just the canned kind.

Favorite Walk: We never got to take her on a real walk because we got her when she was sick, and she never got better.

Arrival Story: I got Isabell when her time ran out at a local shelter. She was very sick, and had just had a heartworms treatment. Her records show that she had every worm and an upper resporitory infection. I picked her up at night, and she slept fine that night. The next morning I noticed her limping and breathing hard, so I called a friend, and eventually got an appt. at Crain Vet. Center in Grain Valley. It was a very cold and icey day, so I had to walk with her all the way up the street(big hill) and get a ride. When we got there, they knew right off the bat that it was her knee, and she needed surgery. So, I left her in good hands, and picked her up that evening with a bag of assorted meds. We also decided to have a blood panel done on her... and then found that she was in horrible shape. Dr. Jerry even rechecked it. She went back in imediately, and stayed for three days on an IV drip. Then we got to take her home, and awaited the new blood panel results the next day. Again, she had to be rushed in. But, this time we had to have the talk. Her numbers were so out of wake, that she shouldn't have even been alive. We could have put her on another IV drip, but he didn't think it would help. She was just too far gone.
I kept hugging her, kissing her, and crying all over her during the talk. At the end they took her away from me because he thought she was going to bite me, and I told them she had before. I did get to give her one last huge, and then she was deemed unsafe and taken into the back.
My poor sweet Isabell, thinking of our time together brings tears to my eyes. I wish I could have done more for you. I wish we could have gone on long walks, played in the back yard, and snuggled up together. I wish I could have protected you. I wish I could have found out what your favorite toy was, and if you had any cute tricks. I wish I knew what you liked, but most of all I wish I could have met the real you. I wish I could have met you when you weren't sick, and we could have played with your toys 'til midnight. I wanted to hold you in my arms as you slept like I do Blue, Aurora, and Andy. I hope you had a bareable last week. I love you Izzy! I'll never forget you!
