 Quick Bio:
Likes: rawhide, rawhide, rawhide, pulling the stuffing out of any plush toy in minutes, to knock over my food bowl every meal and eat the food off the floor.

Pet-Peeves: being told to "STAY"

Favorite Toy: I love plush toys - but mommy won't buy them anymore cause she says I just like to throw the stuffing all over the house.

Favorite Food: Kong stuffing, crispy pieces of hot dog that mommy makes in the microwave.

Favorite Walk: the dog park - especially if there are greyhounds around to chase me

Best Tricks: Sit, and I am learning to pick stuff up for mommy cause she is in a wheelchair.

Arrival Story: I was wandering around all by myself - at 5 months old. But I wasn't scared - no way - cause I am Duncan the fearless. But it was cold, so some nice person brought me to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria where the nice people there promised to find me a new home. I was made available for adoption on a Monday and so when the shelter called my new mommy they told her they thought they had just what she was looking for. And there I was. We took one look at each other and I knew I was going home with her. And it has been "happily ever after." Now every day when we go for walks, I make new friends where ever I go. Mom says I am a big flirt. I don't know what that means - but I think it is why all the ladies come over and give me kisses.

Well, life has been going pretty good here. But then, the craziest thing happened, my Uncle Jon and Aunt Kelly brought home a new baby. They call this little runt Miller. Let me tell you this little guy is one tough playmate. He pulls my ears and bites me. At least he can't jump up on the sofa yet...that is my territory. I guess I better get used to him. The best thing I can say, is at least he goes home at the end of the day...and then I can sleep.

So a few days ago, mom said it was something called Saturday. Hey, every day I expect the same treatment. Walk at 7AM - and not a minute later. Mom is supposed to get out of bed at 6, get in the shower and then take me OUT. Now on this so called Saturday, she thought she would stay in bed. NO WAY. I don't care if it is still dark at 7, when it is time to get UP, I mean it.
So at 6:45 when it was looking like my chances for a walk were lessening, I decided to take matters into my own paws. Mom didn't know that I have figured out how to turn on her lamp (a touch lamp) by touching it with my nose. HA on her - I turned on her lamp so bright she had no choice but to wake up and take me OUT. Now that is what I call a well trained mom!
She told me she is waiting for me to learn to work the coffee maker too.

Mom and I had a great weekend. She got to spend extra time with me, because of something called Colombus Day. I don't know what that is, but mom and I got to sleep in all the way until 9:30. But then I had to go - really go- so I decided to wake mom up by giving her kisses and snuggling under the covers. We sort of lazed around all morning, and then went out for lunch.
Now I know most of you other pups don't get to go out to eat with your moms and dads, but see, I am learning to help my mom in a few special ways. Mostly all I have to do is pick stuff up when she drops it (boy is she ever a butter fingers too). I am always picking up socks, towels, silver ware, and especially those pesky house keys. But that is not all - the hardest thing I have to do is sit still when we are out in public. Let me tell you - for a social butterfly like me - sitting still is not my favorite thing. I mean - all those places to explore, and people to greet. But mom says I am doing just great - even if I am not perfect. She says she loves me anyway.
Well, I see mom getting my leash - so it looks like it is time for a walk - YEAH!!! I'll write more soon.
