Arrival Story:
I had lost my pup Max in February '06 and was heartbroken. My grief was not moving forward - I felt as though the wheels were just spinning; so, I began "browsing" on a site called craigslist.org under "pets". I saw Jake's picture at a "high-kill" shelter with the caption "will smile for new home" and kept going back to it for approx. 2 1/2 weeks - then one day I saw the caption had changed to "last day Friday" - that did it! I work in downtown L.A. and the shelter was over 50 miles away. I called and told them to not do anything and that I would be there by 6 - I made it and I knew the minute they brought Jakey out of his kennel I wanted him - he was wild! and still is!! We've been best buds ever since.

Bio:
I believe Jake had been re-homed at least twice before me - his original name was "Duke" but that just didn't seem to fit. He has turned out to be a wonderful companion - spoiled beyond belief (which is how it's supposed to be, right?) I did try to introduce another dog so he wouldn't be alone during the day when I'm at work but Jakey wasn't having any of it!! He's a very possessive pup!!!! :-)
