Arrival Story:
We got her from a shelter in October 2006, where she and two of her siblings were brought after they were found abandoned. She was 3 months old at the time. She immediately jumped up on me and happily licked my face when she came out of the kennel. She was the friendliest dog there! Even though she's a bit of a 'fraidy pup, Ziggy has grown into such a sweet, beautiful, obedient girl. She's our BABY!!!

Bio:
Ziggy's left eye is partially blue, a trait resulting from her husky heritage! She's so obedient - coming when called - I've even seen her chasing something at the dog park and when we call her, she spins around and comes running eagerly to us! She's adjusted very well to the obnoxious younger sister dog we brought into our home and our lives in November 2008!

I am totally healthy!

For the first time since I found my home back in October, I am 100-percent, certifiably free of ailments! I've gone through several rounds of worm infestations, I've had diarrhea, I've had nasal blockages, I've had demodex, and I cut my paw pad.

But at long last, I appear to be free of any problems!!! This rocks!! I've been having a blast so far this spring - we go to the dog parks every day - the one by the airport, where I get to romp with the other "regulars" frequently, and the one by the river, where I and the other pups run up and down the beach, splash around and swim (yes, I finally showed everyone that I can indeed swim and I'm not afraid of the water anymore!!!)

I love my life!

Bring on the summer!

I am so mature

It's been quite awhile since I've written. I am now 50 pounds, but my growth has slowed down a bit, and my 'rents are hoping I won't get TOO much bigger!!

I got to go to work with Mom for a couple of hours last Friday, and her co-worker brought HER dog, a boy dog named Quincy. Boy, did we take over that place. I grabbed a bone and led Quincy on a chase around the conference table. Word has it the humans didn't get much work done that afternoon. But at least this time I didn't pee or poop on the carpet, like I did the first time I accompanied Mom there.

I have managed to contract demodex, a nasty little mite that has caused me to lose a small amount of hair near my left eye. Hopefully this cream my mom keeps rubbing on me every night will clear those little buggers up SOON.

I am loving this warm weather we're finally having. I've gotten to go on some extra long walks lately and I've been able to return to the big, wooded dog park by the river, which makes me very happy. My parents like that I stay much closer to them now as they're walking along at that park -- when they took me there last fall, when I was only a few months old, I was pretty unruly (so they tell me - I thought I did just fine).

Oh, and my education will continue this summer. I am going to go to advanced obedience, plus Mom says I really need to go to this class called "Walking on Leash Without Pulling." Personally, I think she's crazy, but I say let her spend the money on me! I'm certainly worth it!

I'm 44.2 pounds!!! I was 14 pounds when the human ma and pa came to pick me up. They must be feeding me right! I'm 44.2 pounds of lean, strong dog, baby!
