Leave a bone for Murphy at the Bridge

Nicknames: Murpher Joe, Murph the Smurf, Murfles

Quick Bio:
 Likes: Being with me, food!!

Pet-Peeves: Pete the border collie

Favorite Toy: chew hooves

Favorite Food: anything--never met a food he didn't like

Favorite Walk: the path around the lake

Best Tricks: No tricks---just a great dog

Arrival Story: Murph came to me as a 3 month old pup--the ultimate sheltie, the quintessential sheltie. He grew up with my kids and was all a sheltie should be, a loyal and devoted member of the family---as well as the ideal alarm system! Murphy thought every female was in love with him, even though they would show their teeth, undaunted, Murph just thought they were playing hard to get. He'd strut his stuff whenever there was a girl around, kind of like George Jefferson. Little but tough, he reminded me of James Cagney as well. Attitude, sweetness and looks---all in one package!

Bio: Murphy was a Delta Society Therapy dog, the creme-de la creme. Not just good looking, but photogenic, he became the only sheltie model for a while with a greeting card company. Any family activity he could participate in, he did. He loved people.
At 11 yrs. of age, almost 4 years ago, Murphy was diagnosed with leukemia. He died a few months later, quietly at home in my arms. My little guy, my buddy. He was my last sheltie. Perhaps someday, there will be another in my life, but Murphy will be a hard act to follow.
