Lilly may not have been adopted, yet in a way we did adopt her. We found her by a lady who was selling some pups. Lilly was in the back not around any of the people there looking for a pup. As people left with a puppy I noticed her still there. My dad picked her up and said what about her? The owner told us she was sweet but nobody has come to take her. We decided on her b/c if we didnt take her who knows what would have happened to her. She would have ended up in a shelter. Yes for the first couple weeks she was really shy and timid, but boy did she shock us! Lilly ended up being the sweetest, smartest, and most loyal dog I have ever known. The neighborhood all loved lilly and the neighbor kids would run out when they saw her. During Halloween I would dress her up and sit out on the porch. The kids who came up the drive way came for Lilly not the candy. When I had to watch my beloved best friend die, that was the worst event that has ever happened to me. All I could was stand in shock and cry. During the next days as neighbors asked about her we would stand there and cry together. Neighbors who only saw Lilly every once in a while got a lump in their throats as I told them of sweet Lilly. Her dog trainer had to go off by herself for awhile. Her death effected all who knew her. It especially effected Alex our Dachshund. Aly wouldnt eat for weeks, all she did was lay there on the bed and moan. Aly was her best buddy and depended on Lilly. Lilly gave courage to a timid dog, and love to a timid person. I will always love my sweet Lilly. I know she is in doggie heaven where she is running after sprinklers, chasing tennis balls, and barking at squirrels.
well since this is my first entry i thought i would start it off by telling you something about me. My name is Lillian Liberty, but everyone calls me Lilly. I was bought by my mom when i was only a pup. When i do not have something to do i do get a lil destructive, but everyone still loves me just the same. I became partners in crime wit alex when i was a year old. We have been buds ever since. We hunt for lizards and those pesky squirrels together but unlike her i have never caught any. I have almost caught a cat before but thats another story. I have those herding instincts and will herd even my human family if they get out of routine.
