Best Tricks: She comes when called, and sits.
Arrival Story: I was dropping off unused cat food at Darcy's Ark, a rescue shelter close to home. There she was...
Bio: Found running in the street, very underweight, she is putting weight on slowly, but I think she was scrounging for food since she seems very wary of the food dish. She doesn't seem to have been abused, only neglected, because she loves everyone, and is not scared of anything.
Mom took me to Minaki with Luna and some of her human friends.
She was snowshoeing (we have been doing this a lot on her days off) and us dogs ran around on the lake and in the forest, it was great. Especially when we found something very large to chase and disappeared for 30 minutes baying like beagles.
We chased each other around a Yurt, which was great, since it is circular, and had a porch, so I could take a shortcut over the porch to try to jump on Luna from above.
I caught a field mouse, which mom threw in to the outhouse, and we got to sleep on a bunk bed before the rest of the humans came out to join her.
When the rest of the people showed up, they brought two more dogs, Delia and Merle. Merle is a 6 month old Husky cross, who didn't mind that I kept catching his tail and chewing on his leg. Luna and Delia kept getting into fights, but Delia is a bigger bitch (and older) than Luna, so she mostly won.
Mom was splitting wood, and Luna kept stealing the sticks, and we had a fantastic 3-day holiday.
Oh, I fell into the lake, where there was open water, but it was in the shallow marshy bits, and was not a big deal. Luna fell in too, and so did the other dogs, I guess we were just not listening when we were told to stay on the path.
Mom got a nice man to come in and put up a great big fence to keep me safe.
And she filled the back yard with a whole bunch of woodchips for me to dig in (she says they are for a garden, but I know she put them there for me).
I can't wait to actually get in to the house, still renovating, but Mom says soon.
I am big, B-I-G big!
And fast, and good, I am a good dog, although there were a few issues to deal with along the way, I was just testing mom to see if she was serious about me. Didn't want to be dumped off at the shelter after all....Mom still takes me to work every day. She has clients emailing her to tell her to give me a pat for them. I am VERY good at the shop. I love it when kids come in too.
Update on Daisy,
She is doing well, soooo fast, still two speeds, on and off. We are still running twice a day at the offleash parks. Daisy is such a doll, comes back when called, very responsive. She is a real pleasure to walk with.
She doesn't even leave the yard anymore, which was a real pain in the butt for a while there.
Happy to say I bought a house, so now Daisy and I have somewhere to call our own. As soon as I put the fence in anyway.
