Arrival Story: Miss Bernie was found after a five year wait to get a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. My spouse and I were watching a few horses in the warm up ring and looked down to see this little dog rolling around in the dirt having a great time and making grunting noises. It was the cutest dog I'd ever seen and I didn't recognize the breed straight away.
I ended up doing some research and found out what type of breed it was. They ended up being everything I wanted in a breed should I ever want to get a dog.
We waited five years and decided to go ahead and search out a good breeder. We found one in Texas and Miss Bernie arrived on October 21st, 2006.

Bio: I love getting my belly rubbed and meeting new people. My dream place is a whole roomful of new people to greet. I love doing tricks, chasing squirrels and rolling around in the dirt or on anything smelly.

Wow I haven't written in a while!
Mom's been busy finishing up skoolwork so I haven't had much in the way of training classes. I've been playing more with Dad! He gets me all excited on the bed or on the couch. I love to play tug tug with him.
Mom did just start me in agility classes a few weeks ago. I'm really having fun with that. I get to jump over stuff, run through tunnels and run up and down big planks. Sometimes I'm sneaky and I get loose from her grip and start running around. Other people catch me though.
Mom had a party last Friday and Dad gave her this big floaty thing that hangs in the air. It looks really weird! I don't like it at all and I growl and bark at it. It hasn't made any noises but it hangs in the air above the coffee table watching me. I see it move sometimes and I know it wants to get me. I'm faster than it is though I think.
Mom made me wear this silly hat for Christmas pictures and put me on her Christmas card. I'm getting sent to people as far away as Canada! I hope everyone thinks I'm really cute.

The past four weeks Mom has been taking me to dog school and making me do really silly stuff like let strangers pet me and rub my feet, walk towards other people and dogs and not jump on them and I have to walk with my leash really loose too.
The best part that I like is when Mom makes me stay and then she calls me and I run towards her at full speed. I love doing that.
The evaluator is really nice. I tried jumping on her a few times but Mom made me calm down and sit nicely so she could pet me and feel my feet. I had to hold in my excitement - I didn't want to! I wanted to lick her face!
The rest of it was pretty boring. I barked a few times in between exercises but Mom gave me a bully stick when I was quiet so I chewed on that some. Then she had to go into another room while Jackie held onto me. I wanted to play! Dad was in the room too holding two other doggies.
Mom got the paperwork and said I passed! She was really happy. I was happy to get the bully stick all to myself. Now I get some funny letters after my name. Humans are silly.

I got new Paw Mail for the first time in a while :) Soffie, CGC mailed me and asked me to do this game thingie.
Here are the rules of the game!
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary.
Here are some cool things know about me.....
#7 - I have one dark patch of hair on my shoulders that Mom likes to play with. Dad makes fun of it too.
#6 - I will do anything for peanut butter. Or cheese. Or whatever it is you have in your hand right now.
#5 - I'm a panty thief.
#4 - Secretly I wish I was a darker color. Mom knows this because when I go to the park I get soaked in the water trough and go roll around in the dirt to turn black. I guess it temporarily turns me into a tri-color because only my back and feet get really dirty.
#3 - KITTIES! Where are kitties? I must find and have them.
#2 - All squeaky toys must die.
and #1.........
Tugging is my favorite thing in the world. Dad makes me do the "Bernie Bounce" where I bounce my whole body trying to tug the toy away.
Here is who I've tagged.... I hope you'll visit their pages too!!!
