8/26/2011 DENTAL SURGERY AND UPDATE

OMD !!!YOU PUPS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE AMAZING !! ALL THE LOVE , SUPPORT , PRAYERS, ROSETTES ARE SO APPRECIATED THERE ARE NO WORDS.. WE WILL GET TO THE THANK YOUS SOON, WE PAWMOISE !

SO HERES THE SCOOP...

I WENT WEDNESDAY TO TOWSON MD. TO THE DENTAL ANIMAL CENTER TO HAVE MY TOOTH EXTRACTED. MOM AND I MEEET WITH DR. LUSKIN LAST WEEK FOR OUR CONSULT AND WE KNEW I HAD TO HAVE 2 TEEFS EXTRACTED... OK.... FIRST OF ALL WE WENT THERE BECAUSE MY CARDIOLOGY TEAM ALSO WORKS FROM THERE AND IT WAS A GOOD THING BECAUSE MY BLOOD PRESSURE AND HEART RATE WAS NOT UP TO PAR WHILE UNDER THE ANESTHESIA .. SO CARDIOLOGY HAD TO GIVE THEM A HELPING PAW IN KEEPING THINGS LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE... MY ONE BACK MOLAR WAS ABSCESSED IT IS OPEN AND DRAINING , MOM DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD ANOTHER BOTTOM BACK MOLAR THAT WAS SO FAR BACK THAT IT WAS A GOOD THING DR. LUSKIN FOUND IT .. IT ALSO WAS REMOVED ( 5 DISSOLVING STITCHES) .. AND I HAD A LOOSE TOOTH IN THE FRONT THAT CAME OUT .. NEXT TO THAT TOOTH I MUST HAD BROKEN OFF A TOOTH THAT NO ONE KNEW ABOUT AND THE ROOT NEEDED TO COME OUT TO ADVOID ANY ABSCESSES DOWN THE ROAD( 3 STITCHES) ... THE WHOLE PROCEDURE FROM BEGINNING TO END WAS ABOUT AN HOUR.. THEY KNEW THEY NEEDED TO WORK QUICK AND GET ME AWAKE .. I HAD AN ADVERSE REACTION TO THE PAIN MEDS.. I DIDN'T CLOSE MY EYES FOR OVER 12 HOURS.. MOM SAID NOT GONNA GIVE YA ANYMORE OF THAT STUFF....MY MOUTH TRULY HASN'T SEEMED TO BE THAT PAINFUL ... BUT THE WORST WAS THE AWFUL GASTRITIS... I THINK I AM TURNING THE CORNER THIS MORNING ... DR. LUSKIN SAID ICE CUBES IN A BOWL SO I WOULDN'T LAP TO MUCH WATER AND A TEASPOON AT A TIME OF MY MUSH FOOD WHICH I WILL BE EATING FOR 7 DAYS .. HE ALSO SAID STOP THE ANTIBIOTIC THAT IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS SINCE I WAS THROWING UP YESTERDAY THAT I AM JUST TO SENSITIVE TO IT ... SO TODAY WE ARE BACK TO JUST MY NORMAL HEART MEDICATION AND VERY SMALL MEALS AND CONTROLLING THE WATER .. AND I THINK BY TOMORROW I WILL BE MUCH BETTER.. I DO HAVE MY TAIL UP SOME TODAY AND WAS GIVING SOME KISSES.. ( THINKING ABOUT FORGIVING MOM ) !! BOL !! NOW WE ARE GETTING READY FOR THE EAST COAST HURRICANE !!! WE SHOULD GET THE EFFECTS OF IT IN THE EARLY AM SUNDAY .. SO IF WE HAVE POWER WE WILL BE ON !!!!

8/23/2011 EARTHQUAKE IN MARYLAND !

OHBOY OHBOYOHBOY .. NEVER EVER IN MARYLAND ... 5.9 EARTHQUAKE .. WHAT THE DOG IS THAT ABOUT??? MOM WAS AT WORK AND THINGS WERE ROCKING , ROLLING AND SWAYING .. THEY HAD TO LEAVE THE BUILDING .. BUT SOON GOT ALL THE CUSTOMERS BACK IN AND THEY FINISHED CLIPPING AND GROOMING UP THE HUMANS ! THERE WAS NO CELL PHONE SERVICE SO IT WAS HARD TO REACH EVERYONE TO LET THEM KNOW THINGS WERE OK ... AT THE KAMP I --UMM..UMMM.. SLEPT THROUGH THE WHOLE THING .. BUT MOMMA FRAN GOT A BAG PACKED ASAP JUST FOR US PUPS.... JUST IN CASE WE NEEDED TO MAKE A MAD DASH TO SAFETY !!! YOU KNOW FOOD, BOWLS, BEDS, BLANKETS , MEDICINE ...ETC. !!! THANK DOGNESS WE DIDN'T NEED ANY OF IT ! THERE WAS VERY LITTLE DAMAGE DONE THANK GOD .. THE OLD BUILDINGS IN DOWNTOWN ANNAPOLIS HAD SOME BRICKS COME OFF , THERE WAS A WATER MAIN BREAK , AND ONE OF THE LOCAL GROCERY STORES IN ANNAPOLIS HAD PART OF THE CEILING CAVE IN ... BUT TRULY WE ARE VERY LUCKY !!

NOW ONE OTHER THING ..

TOMORROW I AM HAVING MY DENTAL PROCEDURE .. I HAVE TO BE AT THE DENTAL SURGERY CENTER AT 7:30 AM... I HOPE I GET DONE FIRST THING SO I CAN GET BACK HOME SOON AS POSSIBLE... THEY WILL BE EXTRACTING THE ONE INFECTED MOLAR .. AND THE TINY TOOTH IN THE UPPER FRONT ( ONLY FRONT TOOTH I HAVE LEFT) .. IT IS LOOSE AND NEEDS TO COME OUT .. THAT WILL LEAVE ME WITH FIVE TEETH ON THE BOTTOM ... PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR ME AND THINK OF MOM AND ME TOMORROW .. SHE IS VERY NERVOUS ! MOM HAS CROSSED ALL HER T'S AND DOTTED HER I'S ... CARDIOLOGY WILL BE THERE AND I WILL BE VERY CLOSELY MONITORED ... MY BLOOD WORK LOOKS GOOD , CHEST XRAY IS CLEAR .. SO AS LONG AS NO GASTRITIS SHOWS UP TONIGHT OR IN THE MORNNG WE WILL BE ON OUR WAY !!! KEEP YOUR PAWS CROSSED .. WE JUST WANT THIS BEHIND US !

The Dental Specialist 7/23

We went to see the dental specialist that was highly recommended by both my doctors.. He has a huge ego that mom immediately didn't like...Mom is still so upset over everything that he suggested we do that she can't even type it all here ... in a nut shell he wants to pull all my teeth , and is so way over the top , for my age and my condition ! Mom isn't sure he even looked at my cardiac records and recommendations ! There were many things about is attitude that mom didn't like ( mom took my chest x-rays and he said you won't be offended if i don't look at these ) !!!!! OF COURSE I AM OFFENDED !!!! Plus he opens the door to the surgery area so mom can meet the other doctors who are all doing dental surgical procedures .. THIS IS A STERILE AREA AND YOU OPEN THE DOOR!!! Mom called Dr. Ferguson to tell him what happened .. he is out until next week .. but mom spoke to Gloria his secretary who said * NO WAY ... DR. FERGUSON WILL NEVER APPROVE THIS * ..absolutely to way over the top !!! we felt a lot better after speaking to Gloria and will wait to hear from them next week ...if the tooth didn't seem like it was bothering me .. mom would just leave it and may have to do that ... but i lick, lick, lick against it and the gum is all inflammed and the tooth is infected .. so it really should go .... maybe i will wiggle it loose and it will fall out on its own ...we can do low dose antibotics on and off and we may go the route... plus with all my stomach problems ... mom really has to think about all this !!!

Mom had a major headache after leaving that place !!! and we won't be back !

7/18/11 Hehehehe.. i spent da night at MDM'S

Hi everyone .. i got to spend the night at Miss Dixies last night .. our air conditioner was on the fritz and mom said it was to warm for us .. so off we went for a girls pajama pawty ! heheheh !!! After panting and pacing for 3 days almost day and night .. i finally found my favorite spot at Miss Dixies and went to sleep ....( Miss Dixies mommy turned off all the lights and forgot to take Dixie to bed with her with her ) .. LOL LOL LOl !!!! Bambi slept under the dinning room table and mom kept her eyes peeled on me all night .. At 3am i got up with the nasty belly pain again .. baby gasx to the rescue and mom walked me in her arms for almost 2 hours until i finally went to sleep .. we came home to wait for the repair man , eat breakfast and get meds.. and i have slept all day very comfortably ...At 5 pm .. i ran up the stairs for dinner .. have taken my meds .. and wagging my tail , giving kisses.. i think i am back !! It must be all those wonderful powerful prayers ! The air conditioning man came and gave mom the bad news that she needs a new unit .. ( has a big leak) ... but gave us enough charge to stay cool tonight.. Tomorrow the new unit goes in .. they hope to be done in one day .. but more like a day and a half since mom decided to get a new furnace also .. ( ours is over 30 years old) .. so we may have a pajama pawty tomorrow evening too .. wanna come ! hehehehe !! My dental for Wednesday has been cancelled.. mom talked to the doctor today and told her the situation and she said by all means i must be well rested and in the best condition i can be in before they will consider the procedure. I will still meet the surgeon and have her take a look at my tooth but we will have to reschedule... mom is going to see a very special friend that has lung cancer .. her airline ticket has been purchased.. so it may wait until mom gets back ! It will depend on what the surgeon says.. We will keep you posted !!! Thanks again for those mighty powerful prayers ... we love you all !

MY THANK YOUS ! 7/17/11

OMDOGGIE !! SO MANY TO THANK.. HOW CAN WE EVER THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE PRAYERS , LOVE , FRIENDSHIP , ROSETTES, SPECIAL GIFTS AND CANDLES THAT WERE LIT.. MOM HAS READ EACH AND EVERYONE TO ME .. AND BELIEVE ME THE POTP DOES WORK ! I AM SLOWLY REBOUNDING FROM THE BELLY ACHE FROM HELL .. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENS MOM SAYS THERE COULD NEVER BE A WORSE ONE .. AND THERE ALWAYS IS ! .. BUT THIS TRULY WAS THE WORSE OF THE WORSE. I WOKE FRIDAY MORNING AND WAS SO HAPPY DID ALL MY NORMAL ROUTINE AND WHAM MO .. IN A NANO SECOND MY WHOLE DAY CHANGE ... MY TUMMY BLEW UP LIKE I WAS CARING A LITTER OF PUPPIES AND I WAS IN MORE THAN EMENSE PAIN ..MOM HURRIED DAD OUT OF THE SHOWER AND OFF WE WENT TO THE ER ... THE USUAL X-RAY WAS DONE TO MAKE SURE MY STOMACH HAD NOT FLIPPED ( THANK GOD IT HADN'T) .. AND IT CONFIRMED JUST GASTRITIS FROM HELL.. TWO DAYS AT THE ER , PAIN INJECTIONS , AND NAUSEA MEDS .. I AM HOME FINALLY RESTING , STILL NOT SLEEPING MUCH , PANTING SOME , BUT EATING AND DRINKING .. MY TAIL IS DOWN BUT I DO MANAGE TO GIVE OUT A FEW KISSES TO A VERY NEEDY MOMMY !
I AM SUPPOSED TO GET THIS NASTY TOOTH PULLED ON WEDNESDAY BUT IT IS GOING TO DEPEND ON HOW FAST I REBOUND .. MOM IS THINKING WE MAY HAVE TO PUSH IT BACK A WEEK OR SO ... 7/12/11 Boy I gave Mommy a Skeer !

HI everyone .. I had to get my blood drawn in preparation for my dental next week 7/20.. mom took me up to Dr.T's and i was an angel ... we were in and out in less than 10 minutes.. i sat like an angel on the ride home .. and when i got home i proceeded to throw up ... that wasn't what skeered mom ...i got strangled on my own vomit and couldn't breathe.. my tongue was out of my mouth turning blue and my gums were turning white... OMG !!! Mom was trying to clear my air way by scooping out the mucus and vomit out of my mouth and throat.. she kept talking to me saying .. * come on Buttercup don't do this .. breathe , you are ok* ...but i wasn't ok ..it seemed like forever but it was probably 10 seconds or so ... mom scooped me up , drove like a crazy woman 3 miles back to Dr.T's and thank god i started licking on the way so mom knew i was breathing ... she ran me in and told them what had happened .. the tech came out and checked me out and had us wait around until i calmed down to make sure everything was ok... mom took me home and in about 30 minutes i was fine ,I ate a bland dinner of chicken and rice .. and was upset mom said *no walk in the stroller this evening* !!! Dr. T told mom to be sure to get a baby syringe in case anything like that ever happens again .. but she did the right thing .. you have to clear the air way as soon as possible. Today i am fine doing my normal routine !! Mom on the other hand had a massive headache last night ....after all that, my blood work came back good , mom has my chest x-rays, cardiology is sending all my cardiac records , Dr. T and Dr. Ferguson are both talking and making their recommendations for me to the dental team !!!! Dad says he is hoping they will recommend valium for MOM ! BOL !!!!

7/9/11 MORE DENTAL NEWS

MOM FINKS SHE HAS GOT THIS FIGURED OUT ... HOPEFULLY NO MORE CHANGES!! I AM SCHEDULED FOR THE 20TH UNLESS THE VETERINARY DENTAL CENTER GETS A CANCELLATION .... DR. SMITH AND DR. TANNEY ARE DENTAL SPECIALIST PLUS THEY HAVE 3 OTHER DR'S. THAT WORK WITH THEM. DR. SMITH WAS A PROFESSOR AT VIRGINIA TECH SCHOOL OF VETERINARIAN MEDICINE AND TAUGHT DENTISTRY THERE FOR 16 YEARS. DR. TANNEY WAS A STUDENT( LONG AGO) AND SHE AND DR. T ( MY REGULAR VET) ACTUALLY WENT TO SCHOOL THERE TOGETHER ! DR. TANNEY ACTUALLY DID SOME DENTISTRY WORK ON DR.T'S DOG "ELLIE" ...THIS IS WHERE DR.T AND DR. FERGUSON FINALLY DECIDED I SHOULD GO . DR. TANNEY ACTUALLY CALLED MOM LAST NIGHT AND THEY WENT OVER EVERYTHING ABOUT ME , MEDICATION AND ALL MY HEALTH ISSUES. DR. TANNEY SPOKE TO DR. FERGUSON AND HE WAS SENDING HER ALL MY CARDIAC RECORDS. DR. TANNEY SAID SHE WAS GOING TO CALL DR. FERGUSON AGAIN TO GO OVER MY MEDICATION TO SEE WHAT HE WANTS ME TO HAVE THE MORNING OF MY PROCEDURE SINCE WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO EAT ANYTHING ( GRRRRRRRR .. NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY ) ... MOM ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS .. MOSTLY ABOUT THE ANESTHESIA AND WHO WOULD BE ADMINISTERING IT AND THE PROCEDURE.. DR. TANNEY SAID SHE AND DR. SMITH WORK AS A TEAM ON THESE HIGH RISK CASES AND THEY WOULD BE WITH ME THE ENTIRE TIME . SHE SAID I WOULD BE INTUBATED FOR MY SAFETY ....TOLD MOM ALL ABOUT THE ANESTHESIA PROCEDURE..
I WILL HAVE AN EKG AND BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR THE WHOLE TIME !
SHE SAID IN THESE CASES THEY DO GET IN AND OUT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE . I HAVE TO GET MY BLOOD TAKEN NEXT WEEK , PICK UP MY LATEST CHEST X-RAYS , AND MY EKG RECORDS WILL BE SENT . I SEE DR. TANNEY AT 7:30 AM ON THE 20TH FOR MY EXAM AND GO OVER EVERYTHING TO THE NTH DEGREE.. AND MOM WILL HAVE TO LEAVE ME ... ( MOM IS CRYING ALL READY) ... SHE WILL HANG OUT IN THE AREA SINCE IT IS ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO FROM WHERE WE LIVE UNTIL IT IS SAFE FOR ME TO COME HOME .. OH WE JUST HATE THIS .. BUT HAVE NO OPTIONS ! THIS HAS TO COME OUT .. AND ONE THING FOR SURE IT WON'T GET BETTER ON ITS OWN , ONLY WORSE ..

SO UNLESS THERE IS A CANCELLATION ...THE 20TH IT IS !

UT !!! OH !!! MAY BE A DENTAL CHANGE !!

OH NO !! Mom got a call this afternoon from Dr.T to go over the plan for my dental on Tuesday 7/12.. it seems Dr. T left mom a message last week and she never got it .. anyways it is a long story ... Dr. T isn't doing any surgeries right now and has referred me to The Veterinary Dental Clinic in Gaithersburg Md. They were closed when mom tried to call .. so she has to call cardiology in the morning for a referral and than call this place to get an appointment . Actually this is one of the places Dr. Ferguson told mom i could go to .. but after they consulted they decided that Dr. T would be fine ..but mom says if Dr.T isn't going to do it .. than we might as well go to the best of the best .. This Dr. Eric Smith taught veterinary denistry for 16 years at Virginia Tech School of Veterinary Medicine .. so we will keep you posted !! Again .. thank you for all the positive wishes ! We hope we can get an appointment soon !

7/6/11 My Dental update !

Hi everyone.. I went to see my cardiologist last week to see what he thought about my bad tooth .. this is what he said *** you have no choice** it must come out... He did my echocardiogram and yes my heart is huge , pressing on my trachea ... but all of my heart functions are very stable and my blood pressure was great ! so what Dr. Ferguson says is lets get this thing out asap ! So On Tuesday July 12th i am scheduled with Dr.T and his very qualified trained staff to get it out. He plans to give me just enough gas to put me asleep and to pull it and wake me up asap ! I will have an iv for just a wee amount of fluid as i can not have to much because of my heart .. but also in case there is any emergency .. and so i can get some pain meds .. mom has had me on and off a low dose of antibiotics .. but my tummy can only tolerate a few days than i have to go off of them trying to keep the infection under control.
Dr. Ferguson spoke to Dr.T and confirmed all this and promised that he will have his cell phone on him at all times in case of any emergency .. and i was there when he told his secretary to put an alert on the entire cardiac staff for Tuesday the 12th just in case i would need them for any reason ! DR. Ferguson won't actually be in his office that day but he promised he is only a minute away from Dr.T's office !!! so if you would keep me in your thoughts next Tuesday we would sure appreciate it !
