Arrival Story:
Metzger came after Casey passed. When I went to the local SPCA, I was looking for a lab. Then only pure bred dog there was a Wimaraner(sp) and he couldnt settle down to save his soul. After I played with him for over an hour, I knew that this was not the type of dog for our home. So I had already passed by Metzger and passed him up because everything on the papers about him said "unknown". We had other cats and dogs and needed a baby that could get along. But I went passed him and he rubbed his little (big) head against the fence and plopped down, and my heart couldnt resist. I took him and played with him for an hour and took the chance with the unknowns! Well it is all known now. This big baby wouldnt hurt a flea (no pun intended). Fact is, there is no doubt somebody mistreated this guy extremely. On the first nite, he hit the dirt when I lit my cigarette. Just the sound of the lighter scared him to death. He has come a long way since that day in July. He is still timid, but everyday he makes strides and shows his love to his family.
