Arrival Story:
I recieved Aurich on January 17 1993 from Pilot Dogs Inc as my first guide dog.He was so beautiful and full of love. I cried and hugged him and told him we would ve together forever and we still are in every wonderful memory. We had a rare instant bond that even amazed his trainer. We worked as a perfect team from the very first walk we took till the very last one.

Bio:
Aurich was the perfect guide dog.All he cared about was pleasing me and taking care of me.He also did pet theropy at a local nursing home for many years.Everyone there was so happy to see him each week and he loved them all so much.About a year before he had to go on to Rainbow Bridge he was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy which made his work very dificult but he would have never been happy without me and kept working till about two months before he had to leave me.He had a heat stroke six months before he died that was caused by a van driver who wouldn't turn on the air conditioning and because of his laryngeal breathing problem he couldn't take the heat.His vet did not think he would survive it but he did. Aurich was a miracle dog and he just wasn't ready to leave me yet.We had six more monthes together to just love eachother.Aurich touched the hearts and lives of everyone he ever met and will live on in my heart forever and one day more
