He was the center of attention when he was a puppy. Everyone thought he was such a big, fat, adorable, puppy. Bio: Ceasar has always been a big, ole, sweetheart always a lover. He's a very laid back fella and he don't ask for much to be happy, some loving & pleanty of good food. He's the only one of my danes who doesn't go hide in there room if he sense's his mommy is upset. Ceasar will come sit in front of me trying to comfort me and lick my tears & keep touching me with his big paws. Ever since he was young if I'm raising my voice to his daddy he'll come stand or sit between us, like he saying "come on guys lets be friends."
He's never had the good hips even as a young dog. He's never been able to stand on his back legs and greet you like our other Great danes. If he was going for a ride in the truck we always had to lift his rear end to help him in the back of the truck while all the other Great danes just hopped right in by there by there self. He has now been diagnosed with hip dysplasia & arthritis. For the last couple of years since he was around 6 or 7 years old he has had a hard time going up & down the stairs everyday & getting up as quick as he used too. Now that he's turned 9 yrs old on Dec 22nd 2007 he's moved to the downstairs of the house where theres only 3 steps he has to use to go up & down everyday to go outside. He still trying to go with the ole routine and keep up with the pack but he gets knocked down alot by accident by Snoopy & Abigail . Mom gets real upset when that happends & he gets ambarressed :(. We're afraid one day he may fall & break his hip . My sweet,old Ceasar is gone how my heart aches. I know i had to let him go but now that he's gone i can't help to think "should of i waited longer?" When am i to know when the time is right i'm not God. His daddy was a coward & didn't come to be with Ceasar his last minutes on earth. I had to help lift Ceasar back legs into the car & when we got to the Vets Ceasar couldn't get his back legs to move right so he could get out of the car. It made me so sad & i know it upset him , he was crying as he tried, so after 20 minutes of trying to coax him out & trying to lift him I ended up having to drag the sheet he was on to pull him out backwards as his back end fell slowly to the ground. :( He was a big boy still weighing over 150 lbs. We including Dr.Annie stroked him & talked to him for 30 minutes or so while he was under the anesteshia. Then my 5 yr old daughter Rain & i cried as his soul left his body we hugged & kissed him good bye. Rain kept crying "but i'll miss big boy"! I told her "I will too :(".
I pray dogs really go to heaven because I know his beautiful wife Cleopatra & handsome son Caleb, daughter Dizzy & his kitty siblings Fuzzy & Elvis were waiting to welcome him at heavens gate.
Ceasar's daddy has decided he has to let go of his 1st furson even though it so hard to let go of something you really love. He told me it was ok to call the Vet to make arrangements. Ceasar health has been declining over time. He has a major problem with his spine he can rarely hold his bowels. His back legs constantly give out. I'm waiting for the Vet to call me back to see exactly when the day will be set. I know we have to do this & i knew it was coming soon but i can't look at the Big boy it hurts to much, i'm even having trouble looking at his pictures. ={
Ceasar been having lots of accidents in the house I was wondering if that is due to his back end starting to give out more & more. I know as you age it harder to hold your bowels. I've tried discussing to Ceasar's daddy about Big boy not being able to function or get around soon but he doesn't seem to wanna discuss it. Every time Ceasar gets up its a struggle & he scrambles to get up from the floor. He never yelps out in pain. We can't take him for walks everytime he goes a short distance his back legs collapse & one day we're afraid he won't get up again.
