My New Bed 2

Yeppers, I got another new bed yesterday. The pawrents think I'm so cute getting a new bed, they made a video and put it on my page.

It's nice and big and soft. Dawg, I slept good last night!

Being Mac

It's been a fun summer for this Boxer so far. Lots of sun and swimming and frisbee, plus camping and getting loved on by my mama and daddy. I love being a Boxer and if you've seen my new diving picture, you can see why. If you haven't seen it, check it out! I'm pretty pawsome, if I do say so myself!

Yay, Summer

It's finally summer! Yay! Mom keeps saying she can't believe it's already June. Me, I'm completely happy with that. I've been swimming again, which I love, and playing frisbee, and camping. I have to say - I'm a happy Boxer!

Daisy still has her cast on. She gets checked again on Friday. She's not really happy about that.

Good News

Mama and my fur-sis Daisy got good news this morning. Our regular vet says he thinks he can fix Daisy's leg by having her wear a cast for six weeks or so. Surgery - if he has to do it - would not be nearly as invasive or expensive - he says a metal pin would do the trick if it won't heal with the cast.

So Mama is happy. I'm relieved. Daisy is upset because Mom had to leave her at the vet for Dr. Metcalf to fix her up.

Paw Prayers Needed

I need to ask for your prayers for my fur-sis Daisy. I didn't mean too - I love that little dog - but I was playing today and I accidently jumped up and came down on her and well.... I broke her leg. Worse, it broke right at the joint. The 24 hour emergency vet (doesn't this stuff always happen during holidays?) took x-rays and put on a cast and gave her pain meds (she is in a lot of pain) but said she needs surgery done by a specialist ($$$$) and there are only a few vets that do this kind of thing - etc etc. Coincidently, those specialists are housed in the same building as the emergency clinic.

Ok, might be my mom's cynical side showing. Even with the expensive surgery, the vet said Daisy would have severe arthritus in that area and would be in pain. Daisy is ten years old, but has always been a fiesty and healthy little girl (she's a miniature schnauzer).

Anywooff, Daisy is not good and mom's regular vet doesn't reopen until Tuesday. She got a copy of the x-ray and wants his opinion. Please say a prayer that there will be another option other than expensive surgery that results in pain.

My New Bed

Last night after we got home from our walk, the UPS man brought a surprise for me. It was in huge box, and when Mama got it out, I got a new bed! This one is way different than my old one. It's super plush and soft and I love it. I slept on it last night - mom put it next to my old one in case I still wanted my old bed (which I loved), but nope. New bed all the way. She's gonna put a pic of me in it on my page here.

My new collar

Today, mom went to Petco without me. And she brought me back a present, but it's not a toy.

I got a new collar. Who knew Cesar Milan did collars?

Mom says it's well made. it's red, with blue plain. Bright, but flashy.

I kind of like it.

An Unhappy Valentine's Day

My skin Uncle has two Bull Terriers. Or I guess I should say HAD. Yesterday, on Valentine's Day, one of his ex-girlfriends went over to his house with a gun. He wasn't home (luckily), but one of his dogs, a pure white female Bull Terrier named Pollie was in the backyard. This woman shot Pollie at point blank range with a 9mm gun, killing her. Then this woman left a message for my mom's brother saying "You weren't home, but your dog was."

When my skin Uncle got home, he went back to get Pollie, not knowing. He found her dead, half her skull blown away. He called the police, there were witnesses (the neighbors - it was broad daylight), and long story short, the woman is in jail on a Felony charge of cruelty to an animal.

I mourn my fur cousin Pollie. She was a young dog, barely two years old.

Boxer Rescue- Whaaat?

Mom came back from Petco today and I could smell them on her hands - other dogs. Other Boxers, to be exact. She was all excited, telling my dad that Legacy Boxer Rescue was at Petco with a whole bunch of Boxers and she couldn't resist loving on them and talking to the rescue people. Dad was worried she would bring one home, cause that's how Mom rolls, but she didn't. Probably cuz she knows Dad and I would be really, really upset. I mean, come on. There are already three dogs here at our house. The love is already spread between me, Daisy, and Mitchell (personally, I think it should be all mine, but they keep loving the other two too). I mean, yeah it would be cool to have another Boxer to play with. A dog my own size. But what if it fought with Daisy (she's kind of, well... b****y, you know?)

So Mom didn't bring home another Boxer (though she said she wanted to). Instead, she brought home dog food. Good mom. I've trained you well.

My mom's books

My mom is all excited today. Seems she and her books (she's an author) got mentioned in an article in USA Today! Her name is Karen Whiddon and she writes for Silhouette Nocturne.
