A year already!

Wow, i cant believe its been a whole year since i wrote a diary. I've been busy. we moved to a new town and now i work at a smaller daycare where i am still boss! i meet all new dogs that enter, then tell them to leave my ball alone so i can play fetch with mom and the boyfriend (soon to be dad!)

I celebrated my 2 year birthday by spending the afternoon sleeping. it was nice and lowkey. mom celebrated my 2 year birthday a few days late by taking me to a dog show and making me do a test!

a test! for my birthday!!! Luckily it was a fun test, i met a lot of new people and dogs and got some yummy treats from people (mom left my treats in the car *grr*)

oh, and i passed the test with flying colors! what was the test? it was the CGC or Canine Good Citizen. mom was waiting till i turned 2 for me to take it, and one happened to be taking place just after my birthday.

so now i hold my first title, and am on my way to being a therapy dog. i do hope its with kids, i love kids.

my my.. its been a while

lets see, i had my 1st birthday on september 10th (yes i am aware i'm over a month late posting that).

i have also completed several other dog classes. mom says she'll be leading class now, and she needs me to be on my best behavior to be an example to the class. gee mom, thats a lot of pressure...

i have a new best friend at work too. its a 13" tan and white beagle. she's my size cept a bit fatter... and when she's at work, i refuse to play with anyone else! unless mom throws a ball for me... i'm obsessed with fetching. anything that moves i go after! the kitty isnt too thrilled with that, but sometimes she lets me chase her.

oh, i've decided that my sqeaky toys need to be quiet now, so i've been faithfully removing the squeakers and the stuffing from those toys. i left my pink pig intact (which is the first toy i ever got, it came with me from my birth mommy's house).

a little more updating

last we knew, i weighed 11 pounds even. mom predictied i'd weigh between 10 and 12. looks like she was right! as for my brother, she predicted 15 pounds and he was 14.5 at his last weigh in.

my scar's almost gone and my fur's almost grown all the way back in.

we went to a big expo for dogs and pets at the portland expo center. everyone thought i was a sheltie mix, when i'm obviously a corgi mix! geeze! mom thinks its cause my markings are unusual for corgis. she found some pictures of shelties that look a lot like me, only they had long skinny noses that are in a line from their forehead to their nose. i have a dip between my forehead and nose. i ate sooooo many treats from that event, i was sick afterwards. i'm still eating the free food samples :-) (i'd have even more if it werent for Ed eating 3 whole servings! and my greenie.... she's so mean!)

it's not fair!

the kitty is not allowed on the counters, but she jumps up there anyway. i tell mom about it and she yells at me for barking, then i get in trouble. its just not fair! *cries* i'm the good girl around here.

and today every time mom threw a ball and it bounced back at me, i barked at it cause it scared me and mom yelled at me again.

i try to be a good girl, but its so hard!

i'm bald!

ok, just my belly. i got my belly shaved, and the vet stuck things into me. now i have a bald belly and a scar down there. mom said i cant have babies now. why would i want babies? i'm just a baby myself! hmph! weirdo.

in other news, all my baby teeth are gone and i have all new shiny adult teeth. when i got my belly shaved, the vet pulled two teeth out. mom said they were pulled cause my new teeth were comming in, but those werent going out. the roots were still firmly in place.

recently, i got sick. threw up on the couch and in my crate. mom doesnt know why. she's keeping an eye on me and says i look much better. i feel much better now. :-) she has a hunch it was a bad batch of rawhides she bought me. i hope not, i love rawhide!

not related to anything... the cat's being mean to me... she keeps stealing my sleeping spots! and hits me in the face for no reason! just cause i tried to sniff her butt...jeeze!

Where'd my teeph go?

i'm starting to lose my teeth! mom checks my mouth every day and something has changed every day. i got my first adult tooth! my teeth are so tiny, it doesnt bother me at all that they are falling out. i can still chew on my favorite toys and it doesnt hurt or itch or anything :-)

it snowed here and boy that was fun! it was almost as tall as me! running through it was a blast! i wish it would snow more, but mom doesnt.. she doesnt want to be trapped in the snow and ice again.

got some updating to do

i've been to the vet again since my last journal entry. i check out in perfect health! i got poked and prodded with sharp things and they stuck something cold up my butt. i didnt like that. they told me i weighed over 8lbs though. mom says i'm close to being full grown already. while i was at the vet they took me in another room and stuck me with something sharp. mom told me it was so they could check my blood to make sure i was healthy for a surgery. she wouldnt tell me what that meant though.

i start puppy class soon. i'm supposed to go on wednesday for my first class, but mom tells me i already know some of the dogs because they come to mom's work too. it should be fun, i get lots of treats and get to play with other puppies. oh boy! but then mom said after class is done in 6 weeks, i'm getting my surgery. i hope it doesnt hurt.

on a good note... i have a BOYFRIEND! i met him at mom's work. every time he's there, we spend the whole day together. we play, and romp, and sleep together. he's much older than me... mom thinks he's 3 years old, but he loves me anyway. :-). he's also the biggest dog in the little dog room. i got a hot stud ;-) (even though he's not able to have babies... none of the dogs are). when we take naps together, he sleeps on the floor and i curl up between his legs. i fit perfectly. *wags tail*

so many things

i'm learning some new words right now. mom's having me stay a lot... i dont like staying, i want to go where she goes! its not fair! *pouts*. mom takes me in the car and has me wait while she leaves. while she's gone i sneak onto her seat (i'm not allowed on the driver's side while she's in the car, i have to stay on my seat). its nice and toasty on her seat. she tells me "no" when she comes back and puts me back on my seat... but her seat was warm! *pouts more*

i went to the vet recently and they stuck a cold thing up my butt. i did not like that. they told me i was a good girl after she took it out though, and the world was good again. :-). i got one shot, and they were going to give me a spray up the nose, but mom said i didnt need it. something about doggy flu... mom knows more about it.

back at work, there is a dog about 3 times my size who i play with every day. we've become best buds. today, there was a dog smaller than me!!! i didnt think it was possible. she was a silky terrier who didnt want to play with me. i dont know why. i am just her size *pouts again* after a while she came out from the corner but continued to ignore me. i'm so cute, why ignore me? oh well, there were plenty of other dogs to play with today :-)

at home, i sleep a lot after going to work with mom. mom lets me out to cuddle with her. sometimes the cat sneaks up to join us, but hisses at me if i get up. she would be so much fun to play with, if only she'd chill out and play with me. *whines* i wanna play!

whoa. big dogs!

mom works at a doggy daycare and took me in to work. during the slow hours, she'd let me play with the big dogs. most of them are too big for me and just did their own thing. a few tried to play, but they were too rough so mom made them stop.

with the little dogs, this one young dog and i played for hours. she was so much fun. mom told me she used to be as small as me when she was my age. now she's twice my size! mom made fun me of cause i made even the little dogs look big. i'm not that little! so what if the cat is twice my size.

on tuesday was my first vet visit. everyone who saw me had to come in and say hi. i met lots of people that day. i hung out on the table while the vet checked me out. i'm aok! cept for some ear mites, but she cleaned out my ears and i'm good for now. :-). the vet gave me lots of treats and toys. i like the vet.
