Lucky To Be My Momma's Pitbull Baby by Marley Knox Tullius

Bummer Day

Well, my day started out pretty well. My momma got to sleep late with me for awhile. Then she put me in the car with my bed and overnight bag, so I thought I was going to stay with my girlfriend, Zora. Then Mom seemed pretty stressed after Sweetpea's Dad came over to put cables on the car, AND she had to put air in the flat tire. Then we ended up at a building I've never been in that smelled like rubber, grease, and burnt coffee. Lots of people kept walking through, wanting to pet me. One of them smelled like cats--I didn't like him so well at first, but he was sitting there for awhile, and he really just wanted to scratch me, so I let him. It felt pretty good. This other woman came up to pet me--she smelled like dogs--cool dogs. I liked her. We stayed there for awhile, then went home. Mom seemed much happier when we left that building. Now we're back at home again. I got to play with Sweetpea for a few minutes. She's a pretty cool chick--missing an eye. She likes to play grabass just as craaaazy as I do. I think I'll just take a little nap now. I've got to conserve my energy for chasing squirrels and cats in the backyard later.
