Faithfulness and Goodness—they are doggy qualities. Fancy that as a Fruit of the Spirit! But then the Spirit is Love, and doggy love is a very good sort of love, humble and selfless and enduring.

I did it! I graduated from beginners agility this last Thursday. I was fast and good except for the chute. I don't feel safe in the chute yet. I creep through and look around before I come out. It scares me. Never the less I am so much more confident now! I even went up to a man in a hat at the dog park yesterday! Now that is a BIG accomplishment for me. The world is so much more fun. I am so much more fun. Joy Joy Joy all around! Thanks for listening.
p.s. I start intermediate agility in 2 weeks! Stay tuned.

Well I did it! I graduated from dog school. I was a star if I do say so myself. Sit, Heel, Stay, Come no sweat...not that dogs sweat anyway. I even got invited to go to agility classes. I start next week. It sounds like a lot of fun. I will let you all know how it turns out. Tune in next month.

Lord, may we love all your creation,
all the earth and every grain of sand in it.
May we love every leaf, every ray of your light.
May we love the animals;
you have given them the rudiments of
thought and joy untroubled.
Let us not trouble it;
let us not harass them,
let us not deprive them of their happiness,
let us not work against your intent.
For we acknowledge that unto you all that is
like an ocean, all is flowing and blending,
and that to withhold any measure of love
from anything in your universe
is to withhold that same measure from you.
Amen

Guess what I found when Mom let me out this morning? White cold stuff that was all over and I mean all over! It was on the porch...I nearly slid off, it was on the grass, it was on the trees and bushes and even on the sand at the beach. I thought that you had to drive to the snow but the snow has come to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. It is so fun to play in.

Boy am I in the dog house! The other day, while mom was in the room with the automatic water fountain getting ready for work, I found the most interesting thing to chew on...her new shoes! I did such a good job in just 5 min...boy was she upset when she discovered it. But guess what? She knew that whoever had me before had beat me so the only punishment she meted out was to tell me NO! and then ignore me and pat my sister.
I guess she is over it now. She took me to play in the snow! Well actually we went into the valley because she had to visit someone at the hospital and on the way home we stopped at the reststop that was full of snow. I ran around and played with my sister. We made dog snow angels, I pounced on places where the mice had made passages under the snow, chased snow balls and ate them, and generally had a magnificent time. LIFE IS GOOD!

Boy are stuffed animals fun! First I chew off their eyes and then their noses then I pull out all of the stuffing. The only problem is that then Mom gets out that loud scary machine and cleans up all of the "guts". Boy do I hate that thing. I run from it, I pounce at it, but to no avail...Mom just keeps pushing it back and forth. Ah well at least she does not use it all that often! heh heh heh!

This morning we went to the beach! Mom thought I had been to the beach before, as I was rescued in a beach town, but she was wrong. It was all new to me. I ran and ran and ran. I ran in circles, I tried to chase my new sister, I made figure 8s in the sand. I tried to drink sea water ICK! I was surprised by the crashing waves and barking sea dogs (Mom said that they are called seals). All in all I had a wonderful time. Lets go back!

My new Mom drove over 3 1/2 hrs to come and get me. Little did I know that my day would be so different from the last 4 months and 4 days...in a pen with a concrete floor and barking dogs all around me. But then at 11:45 am I was taken out to meet my new Mom and my new sister Hannah. I was really shy at first. They put me in the car with them and we went to visit a friend in Gold Beach then it was off to South Beach (which was north...go figure). When we got home and I got to meet Nigel the cat and Birdie the Conure parrot.
Last night I slept on a soft carpet ...aaah. This morning Mom took me to Saturday Market. Boy was that a change. It was full of new smells and people, kids and other dogs. Mom says I socialized very well. Then joy of joys Mom took me for a walk in the woods behind OUR house. I had to be on the leash for the first part to make sure I would come to my new name (imagine that being named after the Greek Muse of Comedy and pastoral poetry). Then she let me run with my sister! What Joy! I ran in circles, I ran up the hill and then back down, I skidded and lept and cavorted...I am so happy! And now I can barely keep my eyes open so good night and sweet dreams to all of my dog friends.

Here is what my new sister has to say:
Tomorrow we go for a 3 1/2 hour drive to go pick up my new sister! Mom has entered the world of computer match making...she found my new sister on Petfinders.com. It is a wonderful site that shows available pets from all over the country not just dogs but also cats, furry mammals, horses pigs BIRDS (no, mom won't let me have one even though I am a bird dog) you name it it is probably there. My new sister has been in the shelter for 4 months and 4 days. Poor girl. I know what that is like...a shelter is where Mom found me...well actually where I found her.
I am excited to see my new friend. All she has to do is acknowledge that I am the queen of this castle! Well maybe princess.
