Restraint Mechanisms

OK, so, being the frisky girl I am, I like to be in the front and I like to take walks at my own speed. Fast. Mom and Dad are not feeling the same way, though. They keep trying out these new restraint mechanisms and I HATE them!! First, there was the face thing. That lasted a couple weeks. It was some thing called a "Halti" and it sucked. It was like a halter for my head, and any time I wanted to speed up, my head would be pulled slightly to the side, which I did not like. Mom and Dad liked that it made me walk slower, but I hated having that thing on my face. SO, I would rub along the ground with my face trying to get it off. I succeeded in getting it off a couple times, but not many. Boy, I hated that thing.

Mom realized I hated it, and decided that she and I would go to the store and try out a new restraint mechanism. I wasn't too happy about the new restraint mechanism, but PetSmart is AWESOME! So now, I have a pinch collar. Don't get me wrong, I hate that thing too, but my hate for it is much less than for the face thing. When mom puts it on me, I cower to let her know how much I hate the pinch collar. It doesn't hurt me, but it does let me know when I"m pulling too hard. I guess I"ll have to live with it. When mom would put the face thing on, I'd lie down on my back and look as pathetic as possible. It didn't work, though.

I guess I can't win all my battles.

What a weekend....

I know that Moose thinks I'm a big ninny, but I can't help it. The Farm is scary!! I did not want Mom and Dad to leave me outside at all while we were there. And Grandad is scary too! It's all so big and different! I was all out of sorts all weekend. Mom was getting mad at me because I wouldn't listen to her and come when she called. It was just completely traumatizing. Whenever Mom wanted me to go outside, I would go and hide. I only wanted to be out there if Moose was around, and he was outside the fence half the time. He can jump the whole fence!
Anyway, maybe next time I"ll like the farm better, but this time was pretty terrifying. At least Mom and Dad brought my kennel so I could go in there and feel safe.

New Kid

Hey all! I"m the new kid on the block. Or NKOTB as my mom would say. Makes me feel like doing a little dance! I'm oh oh oh oh oh.....the right stuff!

OK, enough silliness. My name is Lucy and I'm a happy go lucky girl. My Mom and Dad adopted me a couple months ago into a forever home and I have been soooo happy! I have a big brother, Moose, and two cat brothers, Deuce and Henry. The cats were NOT happy to meet me when I first arrived, and even scratched me on my nose! That wasn't very pleasant and scared the bajesus out of me, so every time they came around me for a while, I would cry and run away. Mom got a good laugh out of that. Moose, on the other hand, was the perfect big brother from the very start. He never was mean to me and just seemed to know immediately that I was there to stay! He even shared his bed with me! I have since gotten my own bed in a kennel because I kept tinkling on Mom's nice rug at night, but I like it, and I get to sleep with Moose during the day, so it's all good.

We live in a cute house with a great backyard for me to run around in. I like to bark at the dog next door and have dug a hole in order to get closer to her. Dad discovered that the other day, and tried to fill the hole with bricks, but I will find a way to get to my friend on the other side of the fence somehow.

My hobies are chewing on Moose's neck, chewing on Moose's legs, chewing on my toys, chewing on any hard composted materials (corn cobs are my favorites), running back and forth through the house with my toys, going for walks, playing at the dog park, jumping up into Mom and Dad's bed and jumping back down (repeat multiple times), attacking Moose and using my biggest baddest troll voice, and last but not least, being cute.

Being cute will require a diary entry of it's own, becuase it is an artform, not just a state of being.
