Resuming adventures!

Oh boy! I'm so excited! *wag wag wag*

My grandma was on the phone again today and I heard her say that I'm going back to Alaska in FIVE DAYS! That means I get to see my Doggie Mama really soon! I'll get to play in the snow too! I can't wait to go snowshoeing!!!!!!!! I'll miss my grandparents - my granddad is SO GOOD at throwing the tennis ball and it's SO GREAT to have two sets of hands to scratch me - but they don't let me sleep on the bed like my Doggie Mama does.

I can't wait to go home!!!

Coolest dog ever!

I'm in a contest! My doggie mama entered me in the World's Coolest Dog Show -- wouldn't it be cool if I won? She told me that she used her favorite photo of me... she calls it the Mondo Tongue shot. That day was one of the first times I used my new doggie backpack and my doggie dad was on the hike with us. It was the best day ever and my doggie mama said I looked so happy! So if you think I have the Best Tongue and the Best Smile, please vote for me!

Back with the grandparents

My Doggie Mama's been traveling a lot again, so I'm back in this hot state with no doggie parks. It's ok though because my granddaddy loves to throw the tennis ball for me! He grows lots of food just for me in the backyard, so I go back there and snack when my tummy's rumbling. The cantaloupes are my favorite! They're so sweet and delicious, and I make sure to deposit the seeds all over the place so that more will grow next year! I miss the raspberries back home in the yard and all the wild berries my Doggie Mama and I find on our Alaska Adventures.

My grandparents take really good care of me, their grand-doggie. I'm glad that they're able to watch me now and then so I don't have to get kenneled! It's so awesome to have twice as many hands to scratch me too! I miss my Doggie Mama, but my grandparents say I'm going to get home around Thanksgiving! They say my Doggie Mama misses me tons. I worry that she goes hiking without me -- how is she going to find the berries unless I'm hoovering them off of the bushes??? I miss my doggie backpack too. When that got pulled out it always meant we were going on an adventure! Maybe she'll let me wear it on our winter adventures. I hope that doesn't mess up my impressive abilities to rocket myself through the snow and catch snowballs in mid-air though!

Ooooh, I think I'm smelling a new ripe cantaloupe on the vine. Better go snag it! Paws for now!

New digs

My Grandma came to visit a couple of days ago! I love it when my Grandma comes but I was looking for my Granddaddy too -- he is so good at throwing the tennis ball! Grandma had been here for a couple of days and then I saw her pull out her suitcase and I got worried. I didn't want her to leave! It's so happy to have TWO sets of hands to pet me!

Well for the first time ever I got to go in the car with the luggage! I was wondering what was going on because my mommy and grandma put my kennel in the car but then they put me in the car too and I got to go on a ride! Most of the time when I go in the car with the kennel my mom takes me to my doggie friends' houses for a little while, but this time we went somewhere that everyone had luggage! There were so many people and smells and I was really sad that my mommy had me one my short leash so I couldn't smell it all!

But then my mommy and grandma took my kennel over to a mean man who looked inside it and then they put me inside it and left me with him! My mommy was really sad and said something about her having to travel a lot and seeing me in three months, but my grandma said that she would see me soon. The rest was really confusing because they took me outside and then strange people put me on these weird looking things that were kind of like really really really big cars with long shiny things sticking off the sides.

This happened a couple more times and then all of a sudden I was in the sunlight and then on a moving belt and then I saw my grandma and my granddaddy! There was someone else there too who was tall and kinda looked like my mommy and so I said hi and he kept calling me Jake. They came and got me and took me to a new house and I ran and ran and ran and ran all around the yard and then I came inside and ran and ran and sniffed and then went outside and ran and ran and ran! I was confused because I could smell my mommy but the smell was really faint. I kept looking for her but I couldn't find her anywhere!

My granddaddy had gone away for a while but then he was in the house and then we went outside again and he threw the ball for me! YAAAAAAAY! He kept calling me a Texas doggie, but I don't know what that is because my mommy has always called me an Alaska Adventure doggie. But if he keeps throwing the ball for me and scratching my tummy he can call me anything he wants!

I miss my mommy though. I don't know where she is! When will I get to see her again?

Ooooh, downy!

My mom has been giving me the Evil Eye the last couple of days. I can't figure out why, but it all started a couple of days ago. She's been working nights for the last month so she hasn't had as much time to play with me and so I was getting bored! One day when she was sleeping I started to realize that her pillow smelled really yummy, kinda like the ducks at the dog park that think that they are getting food when a tennis ball is thrown their way.

So I started munching on it and before I knew it there was white fluffy stuff everwhere! It was SO COOL! I guess I was having too much fun though because then my mom woke up and got really mad and put my in my kennel. The next day she was saying something about hoping how I had had enough fun with the pillow to make it worth it because I had lost my bed privileges. I still don't know what she's talking about but I can't wait until the next time I can get with one of her pillows again!
