We had a short staying neighbor who had Cosette as a small puppy. She was small enough to walk through field fencing. That summer, Cosette was left alone for days at a time without food or water. She would come over to our house and sleep on the porch and get water. We were determined to not feed her, but the first night, we ended up all giving her treats and food. Before we took ownership, every morning one of us would have to hold her for the others to leave. She would try to follow us to the cars! After a week, we finally saw the neighbor and asked if they intended on keeping her. They said no, and the rest is history. She has been our baby girl since!
