Arrival Story:
A friend of mine and I were trying to catch two feral dogs hanging around our place of work. We had two spots reserved for them at a animal sanctuary up North, but just had to catch them. After hiring some of the best people in town, no one could do it. We didn't want to let those spots go to waste, so we went to the pound and found two of the dogs that were either close to euthanasia, or that had been there for a long time waiting for a home. Sunny had been in the pound for almost 3 months! His owners were informed he was there and they just left him. He was the one for me. After awhile however, he grew on me and I wanted to keep him. We decided to keep him as he gets along famously with all his brothers!

My new home...

Life is good. I love my new home so much, I don't even miss my old family! Who? What old family? I think fate had a hand in my arrival when my new Mommy found me at the shelter. What an armpit! Those places are so depressing, and there are so many great furheads there waiting for their owners or new owners! I guess I just won't ever understand how anyone can abuse us and leave us behind once they have adopted us.

I was at the pound for 3 whole months! I had to share a 7x5 kennel with 2 other doggies and a concrete floor! Some kennels had poop just laying all over the floor. I guess I was one of the extremely lucky ones.

When I first saw Mom we locked eyes! She took me into the area where they can "size us up" and I of course was on my best behavior. It was me or the black chow chow and I wasn't about to let him best me! I knew the trick was to pay this woman more attention and ignore the fact I was actually free from my prison for a short while. So, that's what I did. The other chow chow was being a knucklehead and didn't make the connection! I am so smart. For some reason though, I was taken back to my cell and my Mommy went away. I was soo close!

The next day the woman came back and again I was taken out of my prison - but this time - I was taken to a different area. I saw this woman around the corner and knew this time was different! I was finally going to be free of my prison, 3 months in a place like that can drive a canine crazy! You just wondered when the next time they opened the door if it was your turn to be taken to the evil death room. Instead, when she opened the door, I felt sunshine on my face and fresh air! No more sharing a cell with other brothers/sisters, no more bad food! Best of all, I had a nice human who picked me out of all of them! I couldn't stop staring at my new Mom!

So, the adventure begins....
